Good luck ED's if rumours are to be believed a £4.5 billion bid made from Qatar for United. The toys will be well and truly thrown out of the pram.

Shame for us but is what it is. As long as we get good investors willing to splash the cash who cares.

2.) 17 Feb 2023 22:32:03
It’s very frustrating the apparent lack of movement on our possible sale, given the amount we’re going to need to spend in the summer to rebuild the squad.

Hopefully things are happening in the background and it’s just that nothing is making the press, but it really feels like we do need some clarity soon over what is going on regarding the direction of the club.

3.) 17 Feb 2023 22:43:38
We’re still contemplating to start thinking about The possibility of maybe pondering the idea of considering if to sell the club, but probably just carry on as we are, but make it Very Clear we are mulling over the idea of gradually deliberating the future thought process over our options of drawing up the pre draft, before the real draft, and maybe then start playing around with the Idea of a Sale in the future.

4.) 17 Feb 2023 22:44:27
Who cares? I don’t support United so have no interest whatsoever what happens over there.

5.) 17 Feb 2023 22:50:43
Becker that will soon change when they buy who and what they want and we are lingering!

6.) 18 Feb 2023 00:04:36
Jay, they spent more than city the last 10 years. There's only so many players they can buy.

7.) 18 Feb 2023 00:18:46
No it won’t Jay Dub. They are irrelevant to me I couldn’t care less if they buy everyone and let’s be honest they haven’t exactly been shy in transfer market anyway.

Let’s just concentrate on our own club and let others do whatever they do.

The only time we can influence anything is on a match day so whatever Utd or anyone else does we just need to make them wish they had fans like us. That, they won’t be able to buy.

8.) 18 Feb 2023 07:01:09
They paid £80m for Harry Maguire - best of luck to them

Why are Liverpool fans frightened of who buys United?

9.) 18 Feb 2023 09:08:44
@West Derby Wanderer, we are afraid they will pay Klopp 1 last big pay cheque and we lose Klopp to ManU.

10.) 18 Feb 2023 11:22:31
Hahahha, Klopp going to United is the funniest thing I've read this year.
Is he going to be Ten Haag's assistant or something?

11.) 18 Feb 2023 17:14:23
I am concerned about our club we’re sitting 9th and it will continue if we remain stagnant in the transfer market. The number of people on this site who just settle and get on with it is astounding. I want the best for our club, not wait another 30 years for a title.

12.) 18 Feb 2023 19:54:55
@Iggy, I think they are called fans. What do you think they can do or should do?

What are you going to do to help the club improve? There are probably better ways to help than taking your frustrations out on other fans on a fans forum.

13.) 18 Feb 2023 21:41:54
We all want the best for the club but look at chelsea, a fortune spent and no better off. We need signings but we have the best manager around to do it the right way. He has waited to the summer to get the best midfielder, it'll be worth the wait.

14.) 21 Feb 2023 06:52:53
man u are having a good season to be fair but they did under olly when we had our bad season the next season we beat them twice scoring i think 9 goals and also other managers have not sussed ten green bottles yet and it would not put it past utd for blowing up man city either.

I'm so happy we waited to not sugn Jude Bellingham. Now please get on with signing realistic target's and have them in for pre season. Bellingham was never going to happen unless we had an asset going at around the same price.

1.) 20 Mar 2023 12:24:15
Looks like Klopp wants to give Milner a years extension. As well as Jones and Elliot are expected to get much more game time and play pivotal roles in our midfield engine room.

2.) 20 Mar 2023 12:43:05
Don't start crying and stamping your feet yet Yarmo none of it is based on facts it's just journos opinions and theory.

3.) 20 Mar 2023 12:43:02
Jones divides the room and leads to ‘heated’ discussions so I will refrain from bringing up my thoughts on him and why I feel we should move him on. As for Elliot I think the kid is super talented and for him to realise his potential he needs a midfield engine room behind him not to necessarily to be the engine room so to speak. Playing on the right of a midfield that has Trent instructed to bomb forward and Elliot told to be creative but cover that space is and was always going to be a recipe for disaster. This tactical setup impacts both players as Elliot is not defensively mature or disciplined and does one of two things. It either kills his creativity trying to cover the large spaces left when Trent goes forward. Or leaves leaves Trent exposed if he decides to push forward, which teams will and have exploited. Trent needs cover from the team as a whole but specifically a defensive midfielder playing on the right. A defensive midfielder has to be a priority alongside going for Bellingham if that’s Klopp’s main target. If we don’t end up signing Bellingham a defensive midfielder should still be a main priority.

4.) 20 Mar 2023 12:53:37
The links with him were only based on journos opinions and theory as well though. Absolutely nothing concrete to suggest we were ever willing to part with the money needed to sign him.

5.) 20 Mar 2023 13:01:47
Love it. favs to sign him in everyones eyes right up till a football journo clicked send this morning. Now its as if Jurgen and John Henry themselves have come out with it.

6.) 20 Mar 2023 13:13:13
As true as that is Jonesy, it's a pretty fair opinion/ theory. They also might have genuine inside info. Things can change fast in football.

(1) We've not had a good season on the pitch which has lost us prize money we'd have won for going deeper into the cups. That also means less money for television appearances by the way. On top of that we will likely lose money next year by not even being in the Champions League to start with. So it's a fair assumption we might not have the financial muscle to sign Bellingham or meet his wage demands.

(2) Bellingham is the most sought after midfielder in Europe. He will have offers from Real Madrid who are the most successful team continentally in recent years, but also probably Man City who have sustained domestic success (as well as Haaland who he knows he links up with well on the pitch) .

All we have to offer is the legacy of the number 8 shirt and Henderson as his room mate, with half the salary to go with it.

Maybe Bellingham does want to play for Liverpool, but I think if his advisors are worth their salt they'll be telling him to join Man City or Madrid. I just don't see him limiting his earning and medal potential when he can literally cherry pick his next club. That's a likely scenario we may have to face and I don't think the journalists are clutching much to say we're slipping back in the race to sign him. If he signs then great. I still think the decision to wait for him would have to be regarded as a mistake overall, but at least we'd have a great player. I'm just not getting my hopes up.

Personally i think we should put it to bed and focus on other targets. Gvardiol for example is publically begging us to sign him and will probably be about €100m which is significantly cheaper than Bellingham. Could probably get Nunes and Mount too and still not have spent much more in terms of overall package, than Bellingham will cost alone.

7.) 20 Mar 2023 13:15:37
The transfer window is closed, isn't it?
What does this Bellingham article say anyway? That we are less likely to sign him because of who we are up against? This is not some new development. It's been a long time since we were more likely to sign someone because of our finances compared to those of City and Madrid.
And less likely is not impossible.

8.) 20 Mar 2023 14:25:02
Pretty sure Jude knows where he's going to play his football next season. Seems the journos are just groping in the dark and straggling ll types of stuff to make an article by mentioning other clubs so when he signs for one of them, they can say they told us so.

Frankly, Im not arsed. LFC do not do their business in the media and that is how it should be. I bet you these same journos had NO idea Gakpo was going to sign for us till PSV announced the deal on their twitter page.

9.) 20 Mar 2023 16:22:51
OliRed- these journos are the club's propaganda machine. They put out what they have been briefed on. You're wiser than that, surely.

10.) 20 Mar 2023 16:51:56
Signing Bellingham alone wouldn’t fix our midfield, he’s just a kid and it’s an unreasonable and unrealistic burden to put on him, notwithstanding the reality that he’s far to expensive for FSG to stretch to, but by the same token neither would signing Mount and Nunes would fix it either, Mount isn’t a centre midfielder, he lacks the athleticism and physicality we’re missing, he’s just another identikit attacking midfielder who isn’t quite a winger and isn’t really a number 10, he’s no better than anyone else we have at the club already, Nunes has been a huge flop for Wolves, he looks well off the pace at number 8 and according to his own manager looked incapable at number 6 as he lacked the discipline and positional sense and now he’s now languishing on their bench. His only halfway decent performance was against us, which is not a good measure given how poor we are in midfield. If that’s the best we can expect in the summer window then we might as well write off next season too.

11.) 21 Mar 2023 08:54:48
How do we fix it then, Dirt? Can you give us some better alternatives without mentioning the likes of Adama Traore, please?

Keita and Ox should not start or play again this season it's over for them and time to go.

Yarmo

1.) 05 Feb 2023 22:21:18
I'd add thiago to that list, fantastic playmaker but adds nothing else and always gives silly fouls away.

2.) 05 Feb 2023 23:50:57
Thiago is our best midfielder by a distance. Wouldn't expect anything sensible from someone calling themselves 'TopG'

3.) 06 Feb 2023 01:41:18
I have to hold my hands up and say that Keita was our best midfielder on Saturday. He provided both support to both our defence and attack. I still don't think he should be given a new contract but if he continues to play this way then he needs to start.

4.) 06 Feb 2023 02:05:10
Thiago has been performing as miserably as the rest of the team but he at least has the ability to change a game with a defence-splitting pass. there's players who are under-performing and then there are players who haven't performed for two seasons or more.

5.) 06 Feb 2023 06:48:30
I feel like I must watch a different thiago than everyone else. all I ever see is an automatic yellow card who spends 90 mins passing to the opposition.

I wouldn't keep a single midfielder.

6.) 06 Feb 2023 07:26:17
Nevada, do you mean the Liverpool Midfielder Thiago that has a 87% pass completion rate, who makes 3 tackles and 1.5 interceptions a game on average?

7.) 06 Feb 2023 07:40:32
I can’t remember many defence splitting passes recently. Thiago is playing poorly atm like the rest. But Thiago is the one who has been on the pitch during our worst performances so it’s time for a much needed change. When everything is going well and Thiago has time and space and his confidence is up the guy can obviously play. However atm Thiago is a big part of our problem. Taxi for Thiago ?.

8.) 06 Feb 2023 08:21:14
I love watching Thiago play, and on his day he is on another level. On Saturday, I noticed that when we attack, he doesn’t really get involved, he just stays in space outside the box. Same with defending really, doesn’t really get involved, just hanging around in space outside the box. Maybe he has been instructed to do this, so the pass to him is always on? But that’s one less player getting involved. When the rest of the team are just walking around or standing still on the edge of the box, even if he gets the ball there isn’t much he can do with it anyway…. other than pass sideways. It’s very painful to watch.

9.) 06 Feb 2023 08:33:29
Mark, And the Thiago agenda continues. Thiago has been on the pitch during our worst performances? Funny you did not add Fabinho and Hendo to that or is it only Thiago that you can see due to the agenda you have out for him? Your Thiago agenda is deafening and you are not even that subtle about it anymore.

Thiago has been our most combative midfielder getting stuck in and winning balls back. People say he is getting yellow card well at least he is getting stuck in whereas Hendo and Fab are just ballooning the ball forward cos they don't know what to do with it. They're so bad they are benchwarmers now. Again, take a day off the Thiago hate for once.

@Dracred As for Keita, our best midfielder? When did that happen? Please, Im curious. If anything, the young Bajcetic is outperforming him by a mile and he is just a kid. Keita from 15 yards out managed to strike the ball out of of play had it not hit Darwin and went to goal. Please, the guy only looks "good" due to the absolute crap the team is serving up so the bar is on the floor. He is still the same guy pulling out of challenges and all that whereas young Bajcetic and Thiago are getting stuck in and winning balls back.

10.) 06 Feb 2023 08:47:57
6 Gold Stars. You have a point, which I noticed too. Bajcetic is supposed to be our designated DM, but I've seen him venture upfield far more than Thiago does or ever did.

11.) 06 Feb 2023 08:51:24
For once I agree with you Mark! Fancy that!

I’ve just posted a more detailed reason in a post further down but he can’t play in this team right now. He should only be playing against teams that sit deep in a low block as he needs time on the ball. When he’s put under pressure you can literally see his brain farting. He also tends to press at the wrong times meaning he then has to launch himself into tackles to recover which adds to his tackling stats that people seem to defend him with.

He’s our most talented midfielder but in this team, in this moment, he needs to take a seat and let others take over.

Which others? I’d go Bajcetic, Hendo, Keita. If Fabs can pull his socks up then get him in there for Keita.

Still can’t believe I agreed with you Mark! I think I’ve just seen a flying pig!

12.) 06 Feb 2023 09:12:51
You're right, Oli. Bajcetic was better than Keita on Saturday. I should have said that Keita was one of our better performers on Saturday but like you said, the bar was literally on the floor. I would still have him on the right over any of our current midfield options if we are still playing 3 in the middle.

13.) 06 Feb 2023 09:13:26
Hendo and Fabs didn’t play at the weekend or did I miss something Oli. I knew you would bite but for once stick to facts.

14.) 06 Feb 2023 09:19:44
Got to start somewhere BP, I will convince you Fabs can’t run by the end of the week. Keep your general positivity going though it’s much needed on here.

15.) 06 Feb 2023 09:25:57
Hendo came on and did naff all as usual they are all crap and With Salah and Nunez up top with their footy boots on the wrong feet we have no hope in hell. Don’t get me started on how bad Trent is playing. Gakpo is pure poo as well, the only player who should hold his head high is Harvey Elliot the rest I would have no problem if all their contracts were torn up maybe keep Allison rest can go and do naff all somewhere else.

16.) 06 Feb 2023 09:41:12
Thiago was brought in to find that pass to unlock low block teams the problem is no one is playing low block unless they go 2 up in the first 12 minutes.

17.) 06 Feb 2023 10:00:21
Probably worth mentioning that Fab has had a pregnant wife, first baby, World Cup and little break after playing every possible game a professional footballer can play in Europe last season and very little break. It's no surprise that his form has dipped really. Who knows if Rebeca is giving him grief for not doing as many night feeds as he should! He has class. Form is temporary don't they say? The lad will come good again - may not help us much now but I think he'll be back. As for Thiago knockers who were singing his song and praising him as the greatest (remember the game agains Utd last year - he was incredible! ) - he's trudging through a mire of the brown stuff right now and still remains one of the best in the team. Us football fans are a fickle bunch. Yes, it's dreadful at the moment but there is a bigger picture. Investment needed - for sure. Support from owners - as always. Efficient planning and future proofing of the squad - absolutely and shouldered by the manager.

The good times will return - of that I have no doubt. Which is a nice place to be given that only a few years ago I had every doubt of that! Got to style this season out somehow. Play for the bug cup if we can. Give potential new signings (we all know who we want) a sense of why coming here would still be a fantastic move. And that reason - as is oft repeated by players who have played at Anfield - is us, the fans.

18.) 06 Feb 2023 10:19:08
Keita is a really hard watch, I don't know what people see in him to think he is playing well. He's got absolutely no pace or physicality but he also doesn't seem to be able to kick the ball hard enough to actually play a pass more than five yards. Maybe he needs more calcium in his diet.

19.) 06 Feb 2023 10:23:29
Red flag fab did not go to the World Cup mate so he’s had a nice holiday before warm weather training.

20.) 06 Feb 2023 10:48:50
Think he did, Longthing. He played against Cameroon didn't he? Perhaps you're thinking of Firmino who didn't go?

21.) 06 Feb 2023 10:59:06
Not sure what a username has to do with an opinion but thiago has been as bad as the rest of them.

22.) 06 Feb 2023 11:11:43
Red flag I’ll apologise now fab was in the squad for the World Cup but hardly played.

23.) 06 Feb 2023 11:15:45
Longthing76, Fab played the final group game vs Cameroon.
