If Liverpool sign Bellingham I may be forced to start supporting England again. He is obviously going to be instrumental in anything they do. As soon as Gerrard retired there was no need to follow England anymore and Hendo or Trent have hardly made me start supporting again but if Jude becomes a red then I am most definitely back on board.

Over the last 10 years I’ve (some would say) luckily been able to get all England home game tickets for either a heavily reduced price or for free.

In that time I’ve not taken up the opportunity once. If I could I would take them and give them away but that’s not allowed either.

I really don’t think we are getting Jude and as much as I want him I would prefer us to spend the money on 3/ 4 first team players that we need. Frustrating to see United being sold for stupid amounts and us getting stuck with FSG for the foreseeable.

I’d be more inclined to watch England if they got in a decent manager and played entertaining football.
I am not at all bothered if they do well or not but as a football fan I will watch them if they are on, but (and I’m not even messing) I tend to fall asleep watching them more often than not.

I'd be more inclined to watch England it didn't mean supporting people like Grealish, Walker, Kane, Sterling, Foden and Pickford ?.

Not going to lie, I like how FSG run the club.
Not really keen for a money bags owner. Doesn’t seem to even fit the culture of the city and club.
Over flowing with money would feel weird.

In all my years euro 96 and italia 90 was enjoyed, probably cos it was summer and warm pubs booming. And the Liverpool 5-Germany 1 game. Can’t remember watching any other games. “ Scouse not English “.

World Cup 86 was the best one for me.

I’m not english so i don’t want them doing well but from the outside i always thought Southgate got a hard time. Style of play, who he calls up etc but England have been doing better at tournaments under him than anyone i can remember in a long time.

MK well said on them players you have mentioned there just truly impossible to support trash like that. Bellingham is most definitely the diamond in the rough along with Saka of course.

Italia 90 was the best, for me.
Good side, the music (Stone Roses, Mondays, The La's) and the 'stimulants' that got us and The World In Motion. And who can forget Nessun Dorma. hmmm. isn't it? Jumpers for goalposts.

Foden is an exceptional talent also as much as I don't like him. looks like the missing link.

I have to say I don’t get not supporting your national team. I love watching Northern Ireland, my 2 boys have just arrived back from San Marino, the craic was 100.
I mean, as fans we don’t expect too much and we don’t have PL quality teams over here and I guess that makes a difference, international footie is as good as it gets in NI where as International footie in England is only secondary to PL and CL football. Spoilt for choice so to speak?
I would guess Scottish, Welsh and ROI fans would be in the same boat as me ?‍♂️.

Irish I suppose it’s circumstantial mate. For me it’s a work, life, family and LFC balance. Away from my beloved club I don’t really watch football due to trying to juggle everything else.

I’d love to be able to watch 25 hours of football a day 8 days a week for 390 days a year like some claim to do ?.

{Ed002's Note - It is a tough life being a juggler.}

I'm with you on this Irish. I don't question anybody's patriotism or nationalism, but it's just unusual for me to see quite a lot of people supporting their local club but not their national team. There's a disconnect somewhere, but maybe it's in my mind.

So when are they going to begin issuing city centric passports? ???.

Irish Rover, I can't stand watching the US national team and have never supported them. Sorry, but I just can't do it.

JK, eat your heart out, buddy; I watch 40 hours of football per day, 10 days a week, and well over 400 days a year. I got you beat and this also explains my all knowing persona; don't be J. ??.

Same as most on here don’t watch England matches, boring and poor football, players picked on name not how they perform for there clubs Phillips being one.

I'm not a lover of international football but I think one of the reasons I dislike England is the treatment John Barnes got. I don't know what he did to deserve it but it put me off England. As for best world cups. For me USA 94. I was old enough to get 1 can off my dad and Italian football was the dominant force at that time so I loved watching Roberto Baggio get them to the final. Also I always loved Maradona and it was looking like he was making a big impact. But alas Diego was Diego.

The standard of international football is pants, I’m English but I don’t care about the national team one iota right now, only love for LFC and some fuzzies for Stoke City and Celtic where my family are originally from on both sides.

That’s not to say I wouldn’t go back and watch England if only to my were entertaining. Win, lose or draw that won’t be the case under Southgate so I’m just not interested.

I hate the international break. Have a group chat with my oldest friends and my bro congratulated Kane. I asked what for and his reply was no Liverpool players playing so I don't watch. That's not the truth I just don't care about England despite being a proud Englishman. I'm not really a football fan anymore just a Liverpool fan.

The only time I have enjoyed watching England was at Euro96 when Venables dared to play a very attacking 3-5-2 system. Was fun to watch that. And of course McManaman, Redknapp and Fowler played their part in that.

Since then it's been as dull as dishwater.

And with the way large parts of England have voted to sanction itself into hell, it is quite difficult to find any path to patriotism.

Scouse, not English couldn't be more appropriate in these times.
