Jota for me reminds me of Fowler, not the biggest but is fox in the box and in the right position at the right time, he can head and finish with both feet.

Fowler was 10 times the player jota will ever be . No slight on jota just Fowler was unreal and such an under rated player from all outside Liverpool . His lifestyle didn’t help him to be fair but what I’d give for a you g Robbie in this team.

That’s the worst comparison I have ever seen! Hold you head in shame! Jota is not worthy to lace his boots! My own opinion is Jota very much scores in patches and works hard. But I think he slows us down and wastes a lot of opportunities by not passing or getting it completely wrong. That’s my take. He frustrates me put it that way!

Seriously CB on what dimension never mind planet does Jota remind you of Fowler? Fowler was rated among his fellow professionals as one of the most natural finishers in the game. Jota as Frazer says scores in patches but also wastes possession and slows down play something terrible.

The OP hasn't compared him Jota to Fowler, he said Jota reminds him of Fowler. A distinct difference, and I thought exactly the same at the weekend. His finishing is instinctive, very clever movement and that knack of being where the ball will be so he can tuck it away.
It's doubtful he'll ever reach Fowler's level but then very few will.
He's not the finished article either, he's still a work in progress.
Anyone thinking Klopp will get rid of a proven goalscorer like Jota is short of a few marbles. He shows Ox and Keita loyalty despite them barely featuring but will bin a goalscorer after 2 seasons?

Even as an actual goalscorer, Fowler was top class. He could score near any type of goal you could ever think of. Jota is a good player. Let's just leave it at that.

Ed025 will love this but Jota reminds me of the wizard of Oz, Tim Cahill ? both love a header, a volley or a scrappy goal. Neither particularly blessed with great build up play but stick the ball in the box and they come alive.
Not saying they're identical before anyone jumps on me. I know they play different positions. It's probably mostly the fact they are both about 5ft9 and score headers like they're 6ft4! You go and watch some of Cahill's goals though. It's just Jota in blue!
{Ed025's Note - im afraid jota will never be a Cahill MK, tim was never injured and seldom gave the ball away, both great in the air for their size though mate..

If you put God at one end of the scale and Everton’s world famous ‘fox in the box’ you know who it was Ed ?) Jota would be somewhere in the middle. Jota may have his faults but imho he has the knack of being in the right spot at the right moment, which is intuitive and sets him apart from our other options who mostly (Bobby excepted) who rely heavily on pace.

I get what OP is saying. Jota, when fit and in rhythm, is good with either foot, good head for a small dude, seems to pop up in good goal scoring positions. I can see how parts of his game can remind of Fowler.

At first I thought, ludicrous comment. But thinking about it a little more I see what you’re saying. Similar stature, and build. Similar position (albeit our formation does allow for same position) similar in style. I think everyone and their dog knows jota and Fowler are In totally different worlds when it comes to talent and ability, but I can see how a liverpool fan would be happily reminded of god when watching jota. I’m sometimes reminded of my youth when I see pancakes- that does not mean pancakes are my youth!

So please let me stuck up for myself and post my reply, I said Jota reminds me of Fowler in how he plays, he just reminds me of him, I never once said he was anywhere Fowler's level, in a 44 year old that idolised Fowler during my childhood and still do, so before people call me an idiot and to hold my head in Shame, try reading the post first rather than act like a pack of dogs in aplay ground, so much negative vibes on this site at times, the same people saying hold my head in Shame are the ones attacking our players all season so maybe look in the mirror, all I tried to do was post a non negative post on the back of a good win, and get attacked on here, have a good day kids.
