Hi Ed’s, hope you’re well.

Apologies of this has been discussed.

In regards to Naby and his injuries, is there more to it?

I can’t help but think Klopps had a massive fallout with him during the season and just used them as excuse.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - no he just had a crap lifestyle and spent far too much time out and about when he should have rested.}

Possibly our biggest waste of money ever and unless he bucks up his ideas then there is no way his career will ever see him playing at an 'elite' club again. I'd be amazed if any of the bigger clubs are looking to bring him in right now. Complete waster.

Lad was a complete let down! I’m more let down klopp kept with him instead of being rid of him! Fergie would have murdered him! Hope klopps stops the nice guy stuff!
Good riddance to bad dirt.

I’m sick of seeing people talk about keita as though he was brilliant when he wasn’t injured! Let’s face it, on the rare occasions he did play he was poor most of the time, pulling out of tackles, not tracking his man but cos he scored a couple of decent goals all the rest seems forgotten about!

Arthur isn't too far behind him in terms if value for money. We paid about €9m in loan fee and wages for 13 minutes of football in a game we got pasted 4-1.

I cannot believe the money we've wasted in recent years with mistakes like this.

He's just a poor player with a lousy attitude and we were warned about it before he arrived.

Was subbed at half time or before for being terrible 4 times in his Liverpool career. Can't think of any other player that's happened to.

That's what I'm so confused about, Jay. Klopp has been ruthless in the past when he needs to, like with Sakho. So I don't get why he's so lenient with Keita.

Klopp has also been quite willing to let players go, even if they performed decently for us and are hard workers, like Minamino. My only guess is that Klopp has a group of favourites in the squad and unfortunately for us, Keita is part of that group.

Ed01, I remembering you saying the exact same thing about Naby during one of the podcasts in early 2020. That's when my head went with this guy. People kept making excuses for him saying like "It's not his fault he's always injured" without ever asking why is he ALWAYS injured. Never bothering to ask whether he is alays injured cos he doesn't take care of himself well enuff. And sadly even after I gave him chances, nothing changed. In fact, it got worse season after season overall.

If only his fan club on social media and Twitter knew what type of guy he was off the pitch, they wouldn't have been as quick to slam everyone who had the audacity to criticise him. This is why I love this site and the info you guys give cos without it, I'd be just like them. Thanks for all you do, Ed01 and to the other Ed's out there.

{Ed001's Note - I really don't understand why he got such love. The Naby Lad crap from the club didn't help. Making him out like he was one of us when he was just a chancer.}

I think klopps likes the lads lads the sound boys not messers but lads that get on with every one because klopp likes a good vibe!

Mk I get Melo was woeful signing but again down to klopp!
And in melo’s defence against Keita I read plenty about melo doing extra training staying late to try get fit etc at least he tried I’d nvr put him in the sham Keitas category!

The Keita Hype Train was always strong and I could never understand why. Any time he'd near fitness we'd be hearing from fans about how we'd see the 'real' Naby Keita once he was back in the team and fit. Remember as recently as pre-season last year getting it in the neck about not supporting our player from a couple of normally sensible people for pointing out I'd like to see him do it in competitive matches and not just friendlies.

But the truth is, we'd been seeing the real Naby Keita all along. Even when fit for a period, he'd struggle to put in a consistent 90 minutes, much less string several games together. Standard Keita performance was to play for the first 15 minutes and then disappear until half time. He'd play for another few minutes in the second half before disappearing again and getting subbed by the 70 minute mark. Basically, you'd play half a game with 10 men.

And let's not forget the brief period a few people tried to make out he'd leapfrogged Henderson in the pecking order last season. Yeah. How'd that work out then lads?

If I'm taking one thing from this season it's that I'll never have to see that waster on our team sheet again.

Ultimately, it is on the club for not moving him on a couple of years ago. The same goes for Ox.

I don't think it's the biggest faux pas we have made in the market recently. I would say some of the non-action has been far more costly to the club. We have paid for going into 4/ 5 seasons short in one department or other.

Time for a new username?

To be fair I often felt we’d have been better off playing with Keith than Keita!

Agreed exactly SR. biggest positive is he isn't here anymore and watch his lifestyle change now, surely no big team will touch him now. What an absolute waster.

FPF, i think the two could be related. We didn't move Ox and Keita on earlier, causing us to haemorrhage cash we could have desperately used for new signings.

Does that come from a suddenly big wage and a feeling of having made it i wonder? Because there’s no way someone can make it from youth football in guinea to a CL winner via France Austria and Germany at a young age without having the right attitude. Shame it never worked out.

In fairness lots of sensible people said last summer we didn’t need anymore midfielders as we had 10 (and Naby was one of them)

"And let's not forget the brief period a few people tried to make out he'd leapfrogged Henderson in the pecking order last season. Yeah. How'd that work out then lads? "

@SR, that's the one that took the biscuit for me. These people were so desperate to get Hendo out of the club that they would come up with the weirdest excuses to the point of bigging up Naby with wretched arguments like "he has a high win pct. whenever he plays" (absolute rubbish and the worst stat ever) or "he made this many forward passes that any other. " blah, blah, blah. The fact that they had the audacity to use Naby in the same sentence is Hendo what I found gauling and an abomination.

Seriously if these people opened a restaurant, they would would specialize in selling homemade waffles.

Can we not concentrate on Keita's positive contributions? I mean contribution.
What was it again?
