Ten hag wow, Man U are the only team who can reach and beat city…. Ok then so winning the league cup and finishing 4th has really got to his head.

I have 7 reasons why Ten Haag is wrong.

Well they actually finished 3rd but I agree w your point. We've had a terrible season apparently they've had a great one. We need mids they need a lot more than us. Really hoping we get them in the EL knockout stages.

4.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 04:51:09
They are shocking but spend a lot more on transfers than us. If they get Kane this summer they could be a totally different proposition next year with him and another CM to play with Casemiro.

Is context lost on you folks? We have had a very good season because we've achieved our objectives. A cup and top 4 was what was needed for a team who last year were quite frankly a disgrace at times. Ten Hag has has changed the momentum for this season at least.

Liverpool have had a season where you have failed everyone of your objectives. A team with ambitions of winning every competition you enter not even finishing in the top 4 is a woeful season.

Our successful season and your woeful season only being separated by 8 points doesn't really paint the entire picture. We finished last year with 57 points and this year with 75. You finished last season with 92 and this season with 67.

By contrast our worst season ever, with some of the worst displays iv seen as a United fan were only 10 points behind your hero's of this season. But whatever narrative keeps you all happy, we'll go with that one.

6.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 05:40:26
Beating Manchester United 7-0 was my objectives, we achieved that one!

7.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 06:02:39
Okay let’s talk context then mumbles.

Your two cup runs were extremely kind to you in terms of fixtures and the only serious competition you faced you lost or in Brightons case you scrapped past in a game you didn’t deserve to win. Frankly what could have been a treble season for you wasn't because in crucial moments your successful team bottled it. Sevilla was a terrible result and your display against an off form City team was almost as bad.

Did we fail to achieve our objectives from the start of the season - absolutely. Did we achieve our mid season objectives - also absolutely. From our position any European football next season was an achievement and it would have been very easy for the season to have gone Chelsea bad. The run of form Liverpool put together was very encouraging.

It’s a big summer for both teams and recruitment will be crucial but I would still back us to beat you next season.

And also - for a woeful season, we did you a historic, record breaking pasting. :)

For what man u spend its been a disaster of a season, doesn't matter how many times they get there Norwich scarves out.

After the weekend he should change his name to Erik Ten Seconds.

You mumbling mumbles?! Jesus. United fans are funny. let's hear from you after next season when normal service resumes. United will be back to their shambolic best. You finished 3rd. Well done. You only managed that because everyone apart from city were bang average.

11.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 08:48:35
Ok Mumbles,
If you want to play that game let’s dive deeper.
“Man U are the ONLY team who can reach and beat Man City”.

So if we’re only talking improvement by means of judging this, what about Newcastle?
What about their momentum? What about their spending power?
What about Brighton’s momentum?
How much have those 2 teams improved compared with “the only team which can beat/ reach City”?

Ten games didn’t say “only team out of Liverpool and Man U” he said “only team”.

So what’s your next excuse to justify Ten games comment?

12.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 08:54:45
To be fair, manU we’re the only other team on the pitch.

13.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 08:56:26
He had £270m in his first season to win the “ Micky mouse cup “ and get into the top 4. The only reason you’re there is because we’ve been so poor, along with Chelsea.

14.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 09:06:24
Man U overachieved whereas Liverpool underachieved. These kind of anomalies occur from time to time. The head-to-head records show the true comparison of quality and standards but I can for the life of me remember how that turned out. Anyone?

15.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 09:38:46
Put a coin in them and watch them go eh Mumbles lol.

Welsh is right lads, coming over here on the wind up and getting exactly what they want. Whereas i can't remember a Manc on here in years up until a coupla weeks ago, wonder why.

Seven. Sieben. Siete. Sete. Sept. Zeven. Epta. Seacht. Sabaa. Sedam. (In all the languages of our squad for clarity) .

19.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 11:50:13
Mumbles - you reckon Ferguson would agree with your view of it being a good season. In the context of you not winning anything for years it is a stumble forward but don’t kid yourself that you are anywhere near the level of City or us when we play to our strengths, or Arsenal based on their improvement this season or Newcastle who are improving. Who knows what Chelsea will do but if they manage to stumble on a settled side with a goal scorer you lot are going to struggle to finish in the top 6.

20.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 12:51:24
What are your objectives for next season, Mumbles and Welshy?
Just so we know, like.

I'm posting on the page under posts about United, funnily enough there weren't many until very recently. Your fans now constantly belittle every achievement made by another club about "luck" whilst the plucky underdogs that are Liverpool have to do everything the hard way.

As for references to 7-0 like that's some kryptonite for United fans. It was a freak result that lost us 3 points. As a fan I'd be more worried that your team could be well up for a match to beat a rival with that scoreline but the following week capitulate to Bournemouth. But that was probably one of the games Jurgen let his assistant sit on his lap and take the wheel.

As for what I would expect for next season. In terms of the league, a minimum of 85/ 90 points, that should be the benchmark. Get out of the group stages of the champions league and be competitive in the cups. I have high standards for my team, something I thought you lot had for yours. But recently every excuse in the book has been rolled out for your inept performances this year. Big season next year for all concerned.

I’ve been over on the Utd page a few times winding them up over the years. Swings and roundabouts.

23.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 15:48:21
Tbf I’ve posted on here a few times and I’m pretty respectful and fair. I’m under no illusion, especially with your potential signings, you’ll be right back up there challenging City tbh. As for us, a cup and 3rd represents progress, Europa was a bitter pill tbh as we was 2 up and cruising vs the winners but shows our lack of depth in CB but am happy with the progress made. Next season, it all depends on signings as evidence shows Martinez and Varane being out was a disaster, and same for Cas or a change up from Erisken. We need a Cf that much is obvs so I think if we can add a goal scorer, and CB, CM depth we will accrue more points so the objective has to be to get closer to challenging for the title, win another cup or 2 and go deep into CL. We can’t keep spending cash and finishing nowhere that’s for sure.

24.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 16:05:33
Indeed, Jude Nkunku. They were nowhere to be seen for years on here and are now piping up talking smack about a season where their Seven-ed Up manager spent 270m or so in one summer only to win the LEAST of the trophies on show and nearly bottle Top 4 along with all the absolute humiliations to make Ol' Fergie cry.

@Mumbles Oh n btw, you probably want to remind your manager that unlike him and Utd who made the FA cup final and lost to City, Klopp and LFC actually BEAT City to win the FA Cup in 21/ 22 so you know, to each his own idea of success.

Also had Klopp spent 270m in one summer and had the type of season Seven Hag just had (with all the batterings to boot) wile being handed LFC's biggest lost in history at OT, we could not be on the Utd page saying what you're saying now nor would Klopp have said what your manager said. Again, there's levels to this. Enjoy the CL while you're in it. See ya in the Europa League, yeah?

25.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 17:05:14
Mental how 2 Utd fans can trigger some so easily.

Christ it’s a bit of ribbing off a pair of fans who support our rivals. We’ve been giving it the beans for the last 6 years and now they are getting a little come back.

Next season hopefully it’s a different story and we’re giving them it back as we finish above them and bring a trophy or two home.

26.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 17:27:44
I commented on a post about Manchester United. Actually quite like it over here, I might take a break from reality and spend the summer hanging out with you lot.

27.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 17:37:39
@WRD Harry Maguire ruined any momentum United had in about 8 games. United made some good signings last summer and progress has been made. Hopefully that can continue. I'd much rather be challenging United then city. The two biggest club in the UK should be challenging each other. If Ten Hag isn't just another false dawn like many before him the rivalry may take a step up competitively than in the last few years. Like who wouldn't rather beat United to a title by a point or in a cup final then beat city or anyone else it would taste so much better lol. I'm sure United fans would agree too.

@mumbles while you are right in what you say about league position and points etc from last season is it not worrying that Uniteds expectations have fallen that flat considering money hasn't been the problem you guys seem to have a shredder for that stuff lol. We have had an awful season by our recent standards and I don't expect that to continue into next season. We do seem to wait until things are broken to fix them but we do seem to fix them well in the end I think.

28.) 05 Jun 2023

Quigz, we've had a torrid decade when compared to the 20 years of success that came before it. We were a club of excuses in the past decade. Expectations and standards 100% slipped. During Oles reign I was very vocal on our page about him not and never being good enough to get us to where we want to be.

A couple years back we had a 0-0 draw with you to go top of the league. The players and manager were bouncing around like we'd won the league. Two weeks later sitting 2nd behind City by a few points with 15 games left, Ole said we weren't in a title race. Civil war ensued between fans who were apologetic to Oles unambitious attitude and some of us who thought that that was grounds for dismissal in itself.

Klopp joined Liverpool and said he'd win a league within 4/ 5 years and did it. He's a winner. Ten Hag has not been as bold but has said we need to be winning titles, 4th means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I wasn't bouncing around the sitting room finished 3rd but it's a step in the right direction and being a realistic fan, that's the minimum. To improve year after year until you're good enough to win major trophies. Time has to be afforded to managers and in turn they must show improvement and we've done that.

29.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 18:11:47
Well I hope both teams improve dramatically in the summer add a bit of spice to the banter rather then oh we did shìt bit not as shìt as you guys ??.

30.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 18:16:22
How did you know there was a post about Man United on here, Mumbles?

Do you reckon a minimum of 85/ 90 points, getting out of the group stages in the CL and being competitive in the cups is enough to reach and better City?
For what it's worth, I don't think we'll reach or better City next season either.

31.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 18:39:07
I think the point is he would consider that progress from this season not that it would enough to better city.

32.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 18:52:46
I read most of the sites Rigsby, there's often information pertaining to United in eds notes around the pages. Plus I'm a football fan, I enjoy reading all things football.

No, I don't think next year we will be good enough to beat City over the course of 38 games, but I think it's incredibly beneficial to a team to be in a title race before they win it. All I'm looking for is improvement. If we can get 85/ 90 points next season, if we improve again we'll be there or there abouts.

Do you think after Pep hits the road that the bar will drop and leagues will be won with high 80s points?

What would be your goals for next season?

33.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 19:09:26
I don’t think city are as good as everyone makes out. Everyone else has been crap well us Chelsea and spurs have. It will be interesting next season could be one of the tightest in recent years.

34.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 19:36:20
I do not go to other club sites cos I don't have time for such things. That's just me personally.

Visit the Lfc page, their my team. Have better things to be doing than visiting other teams pages.

36.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 21:19:40
To get in a proper title race with City you are going to need north of 90 points. If City need to win their last few games they almost always do. Only way to beat them is go hard early and get as big a gap as possible.

37.) 05 Jun 2023
05 Jun 2023 22:28:02
Mumbles, I think City will drop off when Gladioli leaves. How much, I don't know.

I want us challenging for top four next season. I'd take any cup, obviously, but I want us to be back in the CL.
Unless something happens with City, I can't see us challenging them in the League.

38.) 06 Jun 2023
06 Jun 2023 01:44:32
You're always welcomed here Mumbles. This is a free site after all and I don't think we have the right to gatekeep who posts here and who don't.

I have been to the other pages as well, including Uniteds. It's always eye-opening to hear perspective from other fans. And, like Mumbles mentioned, the Eds would sometimes comment on Liverpool related things on their pages too.

As for what I expect from Liverpool next season, the minimum would be to get back into the CL and a good cup run in each of the cups we are in, hopefully snagging one or two. The EL would be nice to get since that is one of the only trophies that we have not won under Klopp yet.

39.) 06 Jun 2023

Dearest Mumbles I sympathize with your heartache not being able to rid your selves of the Kling ons on your starboard bow must be overwhelmingly frustrating but chear up they might agree to partial ownership so at least you'll be rid of them sometimes, on my behalf I'm taking positives from what we achieved rather than what we failed to achieve we beat both you and your beloved tax free neighbours at Anfield plus we saw the wheels come off at all of Arsenal Spurs and Chelsea's seasons so all in all not too bad mate Europa league ain't a bad spot to give more game time to the kids whilst keeping our Scouse eyes on the League, heavy/ thrash metal football mk11 incoming, as for Mr shirty mcshirtface do him a favour take his playstation off him.
