Ed1 has Quansah surprised you that he is looking comfortable and ready to play that top level? I think you said at the start of the season that technically he was but not sure physically, sorry if I miss quoted you, anyway I have been well impressed with him, also has a bit of arrogance on the ball, looks a great find.

{Ed001's Note - physically he is fine, it is the mental side that is the issue. He has looked ready though. So yes he has surprised me, but I am really glad to see it, I love to see the youngsters make the step up.}

Quansah has impressed me no end, early days buy I think makings of great player there . not many cbs can run down wing and control ball with left foot and then cross with there righ.

It’s early days, but I am impressed with how he is performing, maybe, just maybe, the decision not to go for a centre half this summer is because they feel this kid can step in, and early signs are promising. Would much rather have quansah, a kid right the way through the ranks step up and make the grade rather than spending millions. This would make 3 scousers in the team from the academy, long may it continue.

Let’s not put to much pressure on the lad. He’s done great so far but so did many a youngster that didn’t make it, Phillips and Williams proved their worth but didn’t maintain that initial step up. All that said very impressed with the lad though. Let’s hope he keeps it going.

Ed01 I told you we had a real one here with Quansah. Still early doors but the kid flashes, mate. So happy we have him and he is getting valuable game time esp. in pressure situations.

I mean, pressure moments don't come any more than that Newcastle game were we were staring down the barrel of humiliation where he would actually make his senior debut and he flashed during the game as well. Again, we got a real one right here, mate.

Westwood666, while you are correct in not putting too much pressure on the kid, I don't think the comparison to Phillips and Williams holds. Even when they were playing it was obvious what their deficiencies were (lack of any pace for Williams, passing ability for Philips), so it was likely that they would only be stop gap solutions. But till now, Quansah hasn't really showed any weaknesses to his game, and looks like someone who can potentially be a long term fixture in the squad. Long may it continue.

Ed001 if he does make the grade is there a left footed cb you would like the club to sign to partner him in the future. I know you like Gvardiol and Colwill but is there anybody we could looked to as Virgil long term reference.

{Ed001's Note - he might well end up playing on the left like Virgil to be fair and there are not many left-footed ones out there. Bastoni is a standout. Ignacio is an obvious one as well. I would take Branthwaite from the Toffees as well.}

The difference between Quansah compared with Phillips and Williams is that they’re both quite limited footballers and weren’t the most mobile or quick, Quansah looks quick, mobile, physically imposing as well as being technically very decent, doesn’t treat the ball like a hand grenade and has a lovely pass on him on top of being a decent defender. Say it quietly but he could be the real deal. The fact he hasn’t looked out of place says a lot.

Klopp likes our young left-footed centre-back Billy Koumetio. If he does well in his loan spell he could progress into the first-team squad.

Branthwaite looks special as does Jimmy garner, can see the toffees being the surprise package of the season now they've a couple of strikers.

Dont see Billy making it here sadly.

Billy's loan spell gas gone poorly so far, as has his previous ones. I do agree with Jude in that it doesn't looked likely that he will make it with us. He could do a Kane and be awesome for us despite his loan spells but I just can't see that happening.

Seems Billy is not progressing. I just hope he still makes it as a pro even if it's not with us.

Viktor Vaughn, you never cease to amaze. A positive post about one of our players. But I fully agree with you. Say it quietly but this kid has a very good upside. Fingers crossed.

Scalvini is right-footed but frequently plays on the left as well.

Klopp may have liked Billy K. when he first arrived but he won't have been impressed by the player's absolute refusal to be coached since then.

This is the season for blodding youngsters as we have no CL football.

Long may it continue.

Our "midweek" team is looking very decent. Quansah not out of place at all. Has a Virgil like arrogance about him that will serve him well. I think we've got a good one on our hands.

Luke Chambers who has gone underneath 5he radar so far this season is obviously in the club’s thoughts having come on against Leicester. He seems to be travelling along the same development path as Quansah. He’s left footed I believe and whilst he seems to be primarily a LB he can also play LCB.

Maybe the next one from the Academy to say us tens of millions, perhaps. He’s been at the club since he was 6 so knows the way we work and, hopefully, what he needs to do.

I keep saying it but potentially the modernising of the academy is probably the best thing FSG has overseen since buying the club.
