Looks like a quiet final day of the transfer window for incomings here at LFC, maybe a couple of loan moves may be completed today.
I think McConnell has done enough to get game time in the next FA Cup round and maybe a few minutes off the bench for matches that have been won.
As for the 3 amigo's and their contracts remember they have not signed for anyone else which is a positive in my book.

Is it the case with the pre contract agreements that they can be signed any time from 1st Jan, and don’t need to be concluded in any transfer window? It’s just the registration of the contracts and announcement of squads that needs to be confirmed after each window closes?

I really think we should have either tried to get a DM or a CB/ LB in the window to secure the league. Happened under Klopp a couple of times as well notably last year and the year Virg got injured when we were top. Can see it coming back to bite us if we go deep in all comps.

That's about right, Jordan. The three can sign a pre-contract with any club outside the English FA from 1 Jan onwards. It doesn't necessarily need to be during the transfer window.

How does signing a player or two guarantee the League? It doesn't.
We finished third last season and I think that's where we were as a team. If anything we overachieved given that we had an almost completely new midfield. What hurt is that the damaging results happened within the same few weeks.
VvD did his ACL in October '20. We never looked like winning the League that season. We also lost Matip, Gomez, Henderson and Fabinho with injuries. It was just one of those seasons and there's nothing we could have done to replace them. We did try and brought in a couple of centre halves in January but ended up playing two lads that were already at the club in Phillips and Williams.

KingCarlos, they haven’t signed a contract for another club abroad that you (or any of us) know of, that doesn’t mean that they haven’t. They’re under no obligation to tell the club or announce it if they had.

Thing is Brummy, in our current position we have cover for all this positions. Now, that isn't to say it's the ideal cover or adequate, but it would seem that unless players were moved on in Jan, there wouldn't be any players coming in. We can't buy players in case there is an injury.
I get that we need certain positions filled, but my feeling is in the summer we will not only see signings, but also quite a clear out to make room for said signings.

I don't get this about signing players to cover potential injuries. I keep reading about how losing VvD would be so bad for us and I agree but we can't buy a player and expect them to just cover for him if he does. They wouldn't be at the same level anyway.
Injuries happen and you have to deal with them when they do happen. City and Arsenal have both had big misses this season and it has been to our advantage.

Stuie I think we could buy someone who would do a better job than we have at left back right now. I also think that improving the one area of the pitch we are really struggling would defs win us the league.
