Ah well the only good thing to come out of all this not signing a midfielder is klopp will be gone by the end of the season and we will have new owners by next year.

To be fair I wouldn't be against klopp going. I genuinely feel like his done his best and took us as far as he can.
If we get new owners that can add that little extra to the team then that must be a good thing?

Ed025, I couldn't agree more regards "careful what you wish for". That certainly applies to our owners. Regards to our manager, for anyone to seriously consider wanting a change beggars belief.

Totally get you edd 25. I am not one that wants oil money but if we could get owners that have that little extra than fsg then I am cool with that.
As for klopp I appreciate what he's done for the club and us fans but every donkey has its day.
Maybe a new boss with fresh ideas/ playing style can boost us up the table challenging city and the like.
It seems like klopps run out of ideas and no real plan b.
{Ed025's Note - the thing is Oh2 that it comes across to other supporters as very bratty, the players you have signed, the stadium improvements and the new training facilities and yet you still want more?, since klopp and FSG came you have had a brilliant time of it imo, fighting on all fronts most of the time and last season were on the verge of a quadruple ffs, your sense of entitlement astounds me at times mate..

@25 appreciate your input and views. I only say this out of love for the club. Yes we have been lucky even fortunate with our trophy haul.
The problem is that's now all in the past. got to look to the future.
If things aren't addressed promptly we may wait another 30years until a league title.

If our new manager and owners are as successful then they can say "I told you so". Otherwise this is all about them and them not getting what they want.
I actually sympathise with these 'fans' because they will never be happy.

@oh2- Klopp has taken us as far as he can eh? That would be to winning the PL, CL, WCC, FA Cup and League Cup - he’s taken us further than any other manager in football. I suspect you are saying stuff just for effect and to get a response, Tor at least I hope you are anyway, as the alternative is a bit sad.

So in fairness klopp is responsible for all the success we have had but he is equally responsible for the mess we are in now. He's the reason we aren't challenging for the league this year and will soon be out of all Cup competitions. His stubbornness to not buy a midfielder last summer or this January is baffling. The buck stops with him and he shouldn't be exempt from criticism. If he leaves he leaves no player is igger than the club and no manager is either.

I don't think anyone has said Klopp is above criticism. I think he took a chance in the summer by not getting in another midfielder but I'm not going to keep criticising him (or FSG) for it. I think he's earned the chance to put things right.

He isn't exempt at all, but this knee jerk "concern" and questions over his ability after barely half a season during a transition phase is pathetic, switching managers like that is shortsighted and bad for the club.

At the same time, it's not a mess that can't be fixed. The players we bought last summer will be excellent in the long run. There hasn't been major buying mistakes we just need more? for midfield. Some tactical changes also needed. It hasn't been great from klopp this season so critism is fair but I trust him to turn it around.
This is my main point:
Critism is certainly fair but thinking or wishing klopp to be sacked or leave at this point is complete and utter stupidity. This includes a failure to gain top four. It's insane to sack a man that's brought so much success back to our club after one season.
So criticize away my friend but keep it in the realms of sanity please. That's my only issue with the klopp critism. The extremeness of some of it.

Spot on he will no doubt be disappointed in himself for not being able to capitalise while we where on top. His loyalty to some and failure to address the midfield problems whilst playing an out of his depth Elliot in that position are major reasons we are in this position. I have no doubt his hands where tied when it came to the money side of things but we needed a midfielder ever since Gini left and he never arrived. I would also be trying to sell Salah and VVD it is quite clear they are both past it and will never re create form of previous seasons. If we can get good sums of money for them it has to be done. Salah has been the worst player in the side for some time now and needs dropping or selling. If only we had kept Mane and sold Salah hindsight is a wonderful thing.
