Watched both games today, sadly couldn’t get there due to work. We have signed some very, very good players this summer. We definitely need some CB cover, everything else looks positive. Jeremie would be my MOTM, the kid is superb. Nice to have a RB who is not only lightning quick but is decent at tackling. Can only see a bright future for him here.

I was at both games as well mate. The new boys look really good. But my Motm was sobz, he was everywhere making last minute blocks. I can believe how fast frimpong is.

Szbo was excellent, as was Grav, Wirtz and Salah.
Thought Frimpong and Kerkez were okay but I would prefer Robbo and Bradley to start the season personally. Worry about both full backs defensive positions tbh.

Agree, Dom was all over the pitch. Showing a bit of aggression also which I think we have lacked. Two good games. Have to give some credit to Endo also, not his natural position but he works hard. Feeling good about our team, some real talent.

Endo is a genuine option at CB, probably more so than at DM. I think if Grav was injured we’d use Macca, Szob or even Jones before Endo but if either CB was injured Endo could fill in very well.
I thought Kerkez and Frimpong played well and both add energy. The only thing was that Frimpong got in Salah’s space a bit too much and closed him out. He needs to learn to take defenders away from Mo not bring them closer.
Ekitike looks a good player and seems to drift over to the left which is fine but Gakkers needs to come inside when he does.
Wirtz was generally on the periphery of the game but you can see his class. When everyone else is picking up the right positions it will give him more space to do his stuff.
All in all a good workout, the more these players play together the better they’ll get and I’m excited about how good this team could be. With everyone fit we have no weaknesses.

I'm trying to not sound negative because I'm certainly not about this team. I just have a concern that we'll pin teams back this season and get done on the counter so many times it'll be frustrating and cost us lots of points.
The opposition may have 2 shots on target to our 15 and we'll end up drawing 2-2. Slot will need to make sure 1 of the full backs stays deeper to stop that happening and maybe pull Grav back too. The rest of the attacking players don't need everyone else up there as well.

As someone posted earlier, Kerkez won the most tackles (4) and was the most accurate passer (95%) on his Anfield debut and won 5 out of his 6 duels and 100% of his tackles. Being a bit harsh on him B-mena.

Endo is a cb he has played more games at cb in his career than dm, so you could argue he is not a ‘natural’ dm. Though, I do hope we sign another cb.

I'll take us having 15 shots on target and the opposition having 2 in most games.

Both lineups were pretty good and depth-wise, the first lineup didn't look to bad either. Hopefully, all our guys can stay fit this coming season.
