I hope spurs do get guehi cos lfc are delaying for a reason trying to either get him cheap or maybe they are not actually wanting to buy him

Whatever it is why delay if u do want him . pay get him in the squad faster

Silly . same as Newcastle are silly too much talking . sell Isak and go buy yourself an attacker
Ridiculous.

I think we saw the reason for the delay Rebel. Glasner said himself they need Guehi to help them get through the European qualifiers and get into the conference league.

After next weeks game he will move.

It seems like Palace are the ones delaying. Glasner literally said after the game last night that they don't have enough CB's to sell Guehi until after the second leg against Frederikstad has been played, as they can't register anyone else to play until after that game. Lerma played CB last night and he is a midfielder by trade. I think Guehi will sign for us next weekend after Palace have confirmed their place in Europe.

Isak I think will happen any day now. Eddie Howe has stated that the saga is almost over in his most recent interview, and Newcastle seem to be advancing on Wissa, Strand-Larson and Jackson. If they get 1 or 2 of them soon, Isak will probably be allowed to leave (finally) if we meet their asking price.

Patience is a virtue. In the mean time, there's a lot of reports we are meeting with Rodrygo Goes and his agents to discuss a transfer. Apparently not linked to the interest in Isak, and we want both players to bolster the forward line. That might be an interesting one to keep an eye on.

Indeed, MKS. CP are the ones stalling here and Glasner has told everybody why. Not sure how anyone can think we are the ones delaying at this point.

As per Isak, many of the journos (reliable or not) have sad that LFC will remain very patient with this process and will not shoot their shot unless it is clearly a green light to do so. Nothing so far has changed re: LFC's patient stance apart from the typical OTT reactions from fans (from both and rival clubs) jumping the gun.

Exactly Oli. Liverpool are actually being very respectful with regards to both transfers. We've withheld a 2nd bid for Isak whilst Newcastle do not want to sell (due to having no replacements) and we're not giving Palace ultimatums about selling Guehi immediately, allowing them time to replace him and qualify for Europe. I'm really impressed with Hughes and how classy he's been in negotiations. Leverkusen and Bayern have both complimented the way we operate this summer with regards to the Wirtz/ Frimpong and Diaz deals. After years of the tapping up sagas, this makes a really nice change.

It's funny watching all the Newcastle fans being so critical of Liverpool, when in actual fact we've done nothing wrong. We bid a British record amount for a player who already wanted to leave. Somehow they've taken insult to that.

I'm enjoying the way Newcastle fans are vilifying Isak but say nothing about Wissa. Apparently because Wissa is still training with the team. There is no difference to me because neither player is willing to play games.
Although, some of our lot hate (d) Trent for leaving on a free but are OK with the Isak situation.

I'm in the camp that likes Guehi. Think he would be a good addition.

22 Aug 2025 13:25:58
@Brommers, whatchu chatting 'bout? Don't you know you're not supposed to put a mirror in front of Newcastle when their fans moan about the Isak saga? You must have missed that memo. Also, you should listen to what Alan Shearer had to say. You know, the guy who was lecturing us and how dare we go after Trent for leaving. Now, he is telling Isak to shut up and play. Hmmm.

@MKS, I fully agree. Those tapping up episodes used to do my head in. As for the Newcastle fans crying, just mention Yan Wissa. And wait.

22 Aug 2025 13:47:50
Palance need/ want Guehi to play the next qualifying leg of their european tie.

Once that is completed the player will move.

Patience this is real life.

22 Aug 2025 14:20:50
The difference is that TAA continued to play and train, OliRed.

22 Aug 2025 15:35:32
Rigsby, true and even though both situations are not the same, Shearer should quit with trying to lecture other club's fans on how they should behave.

Now Im not telling NUFC fans not to be peeved at Isak. All I have been saying is that they should stop attacking LFC and it's fans for the things their club's feckless incompetence has done to them on this topic. Just wanted to make that distinction.

22 Aug 2025 15:57:56
What happened to the ignore sign ???‍♂️.

22 Aug 2025 17:38:20
Oli, what did Shearer say that upset you so much? You do know he's a pundit, don't you?

Newcastle fans are hardly attacking LFC and its fans, are they? Come on.
There's a lot of tribalism but that's football. I've heard more from Liverpool fans having a go at NUFC than the other way round.

You're always telling us about what other fans are saying and how they've no right. They've every right. It's football.
I know loads of United, City, Everton, Bolton and Wigan fans and they are sound. I drink with some them and chat with some of them. I've read comments from Newcastle fans, too. They give stick and they can take it.

It's give and take.
