So for all the stick Liverpool have got in recent weeks for unsettling Isak, Eddie Howe has just admitted Isak asked to leave the club before the end of last season.
Seriously, we offered a British transfer record fee and the way people are going on, you’d think we offered £30m for him.
Yes, the fee was below what Newcastle want but when have any club ever offered the fee being asked with the first bid? The whole point of a negotiation is to try and find some middle ground where both clubs are happy. I’m seeing journalists up and down the country describing Liverpool as disrespectful for “only” offering £110m. What is going on?

Who cares what stick others give Liverpool mate.
Christ we dish it out with the best of them. Pep is a crap manager and every other worldwide fan isn’t as good as us apparently.
Banter and moaning about other clubs amongst rival fans is part and parcel of the game.
22 Aug 2025 16:48:23
I’m not talking about rival fans, I’m talking about supposedly impartial journalists. Prime example is Henry winter who described the fee as disrespectful and wrote “who are Newcastle going to get at this late stage in the window”. Well Howe has just admitted they’ve known Isaks intentions since May so they’ve had all window to find a replacement.
22 Aug 2025 17:36:16
JK_Red my mistake then mate.
Journalists like to be controversial because it creates more clicks which in turn pays more.
Same as when you see the pundits following the snowflake agenda of today’s propaganda.
You can always tell when they’re lying because their lips are moving.

I hardly ever agree with what Michael Owen says . but he did say something right the other day . he said the ex pros giving Isak stick in the press, would do exactly the same as Isak is doing now if they wanted a move.
22 Aug 2025 18:11:55
Impartial? They hate the city and us scousers . another reason we don’t support England.
{Ed025's Note - speak for yourself John, i have been to Newcastle many times mate and the ones i speak to love our city, most are them are just working class people the same as us, and i must say i would never Boo the national anthem either, its a lack of respect for me my friend..
22 Aug 2025 18:29:37
But what about the lack of respect our so called leaders have shown our great City over the years Ed? Do we just forget about that and blindly follow the status quo?
Come on mate I thought you were better than that. You’re old enough to remember the 80s we as a city were completely hung out to dry!
{Ed025's Note - it seems we have different views on that Robbo, the whole country suffered under thatcher mate not just us, i think we have held our own mate and most people love this city because of the history and the warmth of its people and im proud of that..
22 Aug 2025 18:31:39
Wow! A blue nose criticising people booing!
{Ed025's Note - i just dont see the point Avit, a bit moronic for me mate but everyone to their own i suppose..

Also, ed025, I’m pretty sure the poster you replied to was talking about journos, not Newcastle fans.
{Ed025's Note - oh right JK, if so i apologize mate..
22 Aug 2025 18:58:42
Each to their own I guess Ed.
I think life’s too short to hold grudges so I don’t let it bother me too much but I can certainly understand why some do and don’t recognise the national anthem as their own and even feel animosity towards what it represents.
{Ed025's Note - we all have differing views on things Robbo and thats fine, i just dont get the Booing mate as it serves no purpose to me...it wont change anything..
22 Aug 2025 19:13:43
There is no official national anthem. There should be an anthem about the country for the national anthem. Instead we have some how fallen into the habit of singing about an imaginary being in the sky saving an over privileged homosapien who is apparently considered to be better than all of us through bloodline.
Why do we fall for this?
{Ed025's Note - im sorry i opened my bloody big mouth now.. :)
22 Aug 2025 19:18:29
Totally agree with Mr 25. The booing just pumps up the opposition’s fans, and is consequently counter-productive. And I don’t get the issue with Newcastle - lovely city, warm people.
When it comes to the National Anthem - just don’t sing along. It’s a rubbish tune anyway.
22 Aug 2025 19:21:43
Well said Robbo! It’s not just about the 80’s or thatcher though. People need to know their history. In 1911 that Cnut Churchill sent a warship down the Mersey and threatened to bomb the city if we didn’t stop the striking. Obviously being the city unions were founded we represented the working class and at that time the rights were appalling. We stood up for every working class person across the country and eventually did it alone whilst every other city did as they were told. Ultimately we ended up getting everyone better working conditions and wages, despite being threatened with our lives by our own government.
As for the national anthem and the monarchy, they’ve stood by and watched everything unfold, from the threats of the government, the managed decline to the cover up of Hillsborough. On top of this they use our taxes to pay off victims of a paedophile whilst taking upwards of £500m a year out of the pot, because of the name they were born with. We’re supposed to stand shoulder to shoulder with the same people who death mock us every week, stereotype us and push their bigoted views. We’re also expected to be patriotic to the same country! I’m a proud scouser, but I’m ashamed to be branded an Englishman.
22 Aug 2025 20:30:55
I think its just the National anthem in football that we Boo. to let them know the shocking way they've treated us over the years . but other sports ie Athletics in the Olympics etc then i support them whole heartedly.
22 Aug 2025 21:26:32
I was on about the reporters / media who can’t stand us not the Geordies. Nobody likes us I’m fine with that they hate us til they need us. As for national anthems not a chance.
{Ed025's Note - i think the King should be saved John, and if anyone is to do it then god is the very man mate.. :)
22 Aug 2025 22:59:52
What about Scouse reporters and media people?
22 Aug 2025 23:32:02
What about them?
23 Aug 2025 10:08:05
Do they hate Scousers and the city, john?
Or do they not exist because journalists and media people hate Scousers?
