Are the stars going to align in time?
Was hoping bid would have been lodged yesterday to land Isak but it seems we are giving NUFC the breathing space to get replacements in first.
Just hope it doesn't bite us in the arse.

I think lots of talking will be going on in the background at this stage. He'll be a Liverpool player within the next few days, it'll just suddenly be announced without us expecting it I reckon.

Think we'll see a 3rd bid accepted by Wolves, apparently Larsen wants the move. that should set the wheels in motion.

Salah. We’re all expecting it mate ha ha
I’m on here chance I get for a update
Like a kid waiting for his sweets to be weighed and paid (showing my age there)

Isn’t Larsen being described as the Calum Wilson replacement.

Don’t get me wrong I’ve wanted Isak for months and months and he would be my dream signing but it’s getting down to the wire now.

I think we’ll see him in January similar to the Vvd deal.

I think larsen will be the isak replacement not the Wilson replacement. V good player who I think will thrive at Newcastle, suit them.

27 Aug 2025 10:21:04
I dunno what’s going on at that Place. They can’t sign players.

The VVD deal was very different JK as in we had to publicly step back from it because of the tapping up allegations otherwise we would’ve got it done in the summer.

This one is a no brainer for me. He doesn’t want to play for them and we want to pay the money so I think it gets done. Anything else would be lunacy from Newcastle regardless of replacements.

You don’t need a replacement for someone who won’t play but £135m means you can set up a very good striker signing in January.

@LFC8 - Newcastle can’t sign players, because they convinced themselves that by virtue of simply having Alexander Isak and wealthy Saudi owners they were his club for life and he wouldn’t want to leave.
Newcastle were never signing a striker as good as Isak this summer - it’s unbelievable that they didn’t realize it straight away.

27 Aug 2025 11:18:29
Robbo sorry I didn’t mean it as in it’s similar to the Vvd deal. Only meant it in the sense that we will end up getting him in Jan.

Saudi’s and Quatari’s are very difficult to do business with as they have more money the rest of people.

I just don’t see them being dictated to by a player and they will try to buy and let him not play football.

Mbappe tried it at PSG and they let him leave on a free.

Only my opinion and I really hope I’m wrong and Isak is a LFC player come Monday.

27 Aug 2025 11:56:47
Difference is, JK, PSG make considerable amounts of money and Newcastle don't, they have to build the club in a slow and organic fashion, and having a record fee for a player who doesn't want to play for you anymore will be a big shot in the arm for them to maneuver in the market in the future. It hurts to swallow your pride allowing a player to force himself out of the club but not taking the money out of principle is just a bad decision in footballing terms for the club, and does nothing but satisfy the ego of the owners.

Pat I agree and it’s not me making the decisions there mate I’m just giving my opinion on it.

Technically Newcastle can still spend big from now until Monday as they can sell Isak in Jan to balance the books and I doubt they would go into their overdraft doing it.

We only have 5 and a half days to find out mate.
