Ed001 is it definitely acl for Leoni or just people putting 2+2. Slot did say it needs a couple of days for swelling to go down before MRI scans. I gather it is but still hoping it's not for the lad.
{Ed001's Note - they won't have been able to do the scan yet, so it is not certain, just very likely.}

Ed001 will find out Friday am guessing and he will have surgery this week if it’s worse case. Is
There levels of damage with acl Ed or all the same, it’s seem to becoming more regular injury these days Ed. Is a torn ACL the same as a ruptured ACL Ed.
{Ed001's Note - these are really questions for a doctor. But, from what I understand though terms such as torn and ruptured are often used interchangeably, they are also used to indicate the severity of the injury. ACL issues have always been a problem, Cynthia Rothrock tore hers back in the 1980s, I think during one of the China O'Brien movies. She never had hers fixed but was still able to continue making martial arts movies. Leoni is young, he should be able to make a full recovery, fingers crossed.}

As one door closes sadly, another door opens? Bajcetic was first signed for LFC academy playing as a defensive centre back, Jurgen realised his potential was much better served as his number 6.
Then a football injury so rare that Jurgen had never coached a player who had this very rare injury, but worse than an ACL, he snapped his adductor ligament which is the muscle/ ligament under ye bum, and connects your TWO legs together, an ACL is considered not as serious because that is mostly a one leg injury such as VVD.
Stefan has now had two operations on this adductor ligament, the second operation this summer at the Spires in Sefton Park was performed by a top surgeon with a very successful history of sportsmen and women returning stronger to their specialist sport, one was a Judo Olympian who achieved a Bronze medal at an Olympics.
This surgeon has a vastly different technique to other every day surgeons, his technique is that he forms a glove like mesh around the ligament and attaches four titanium screws into the bone, two on each leg to basically anchor the mesh/ ligament at both sides of your legs, so the force of the legs now has two components it relies on, the mesh and what nature gives you a ligament.
Maybe Arne will think of reverting him to a CB similar to Gravenblock going from AM to number 6, when fully fit.
21 this October and circa 6 foot one in height, his football abilities are more than reasonable for a CB, as the old football saying goes "cometh the hour, cometh the man" my POV is nothing ventured, nothing gained? if ye don't try it ye never will find out!

Doctor here lads, partial tears are one thing and ruptures are complete tears of the ligament fibres. Your talking approx 3-6 months post ACL reconstruction for strong functional healing but with players needing extensive physio for confidence to load previously injured knee etc WB, twist and load properly through the knee usually takes 9-12 months. For these reasons it’s why it’s probably up there with the most unfortunate injuries a professional athlete can have but reassuring that this is early on in his career. He will be okay, these surgeries have come a long way and outcomes are excellent. He will be back stronger I am sure!

There are grades of tears. Rupture is typically used when it’s a complete tear.

Totally gutted for the lad he put in a fine performance and then a freak incident has totally ruined his start at the club. I can’t actually believe it such a sour taste after the game. Hope he recovers well and has no I’ll affects lingering.

I was under the impression it was the other way about. I ruptured my patella a couple of years ago, and they explained it was a rupture because it was essentially a hole in the middle of it, and not torn on the extremities of it.
I'm not a doctor, and my doctor was an NHS Highland doctor, so we both could be completely wrong!

Hey Ed01, don't mess around Cynthia Rothrock is still rocking it in her 60's, just like Shade.
{Ed001's Note - I love Cynthia Rothrock - I grew up on her movies among many others. She was properly hard. I mean anyone who can just carry on as normal with an ACL rupture has to be tough.}

Rugby Parker - slightly different as your patella is bone. was talking more in reference to the ligaments around the knee. It sounds like the ligaments connected to your patella remained in tact.
