I’ll go one further, I’d suggest a player bought for £100M plus who knows things aren’t clicking, but has the minerals to not compromise and play his natural game? - well that’s exactly what I want from him.
Still believe in ya Flo, can’t wait for it all to come together.

And it's worth noting that Wirtz picked up more Player of the Match awards in the Champions League last season than any other player (5), even though it was his first season in the competition. He only played 9 games too. Not bad, right?

I think any of us with any sense realise what a great player he is. You don’t become the first name on the team sheet for the German national team and win Germany’s player of the year 2 years in a row and then turn crap overnight.
He’s trying a bit too hard but he’ll settle and he’ll be brilliant.
I just hope he doesn’t get hounded out of town by the clueless knuckle draggers. We have to give this kid a chance we’ve signed him for 6 years it’s idiotic to write him off after 8 games.

It’s upto Slot to get these guys clicking. Simple as that. He’s a top player as are all our other players.
This team should have at least one decent performance under its name this season and as of now, it doesn’t. This has to change quickly, ideally against Chelsea.
Can’t be losing 3 in a row.

Look I knew team wasnt going to do good after the tragedy and loosing a brother. Therefore i had more expectations from wirtz that maybe he will make us click as he would not be so moved by the loss like others.
I guess the expectation is harsh and it is a team game after all.

Wirtz was always going to take time to settle and adapt to the team, it’s 8 games, and yes he’s been poor, but played better against Atletico and I believe he just needs to go back to basics and do what he is tremendous at.
Ekitike has made a very good start, apart from the childish stupidity last week.
Frimpong looks poor, Kerkez too although I am seeing he is getting slightly better.
All will grow with the team this season, and we are still top of the league, just need to sort the defensive problems in my opinion and drop Konate for a few games. ??.

Frimpong and Bradley haven’t been great but they probably have the biggest shoes to fill whilst Wirtz and Isak have the biggest expectations.
The CL and league are definitely not a sprint and the fact we are winning ugly this season puts us in good stead despite the fact we’ve lost our last two extremely ugly.
Personally I think we’re in a very good place to compete for the CL. The new format showed us last season as long as you peak after Feb time then you’ve got a great shout.
Whilst the bedding in period isn’t going to plan now you’d think that Wirtz and Isak will be up to full speed by the time the CL knockout stages come around.

Frimpong hasn't had rhythm in the team after injury and kerkez hasn't had the structure around him to play his natural game. I do think we need to work out what the role of our full backs is because it looks a bit of a mess in that regard right now.
Both of them were obviously bought to take up positions higher up the field when we are building up to carry the ball up the flanks, but obviously they can't both do that at the same time. It feels like we're not getting the best out of them from an attacking standpoint or doing more to cover their defensive limitations (though kerkez is above average defensively as a left back imho) .
As frimpong and Bradley get back up to speed fitness wise and either of them gets a run of games I'm thinking we'll see more of a coherent plan emerging, we couldn't have two more different right backs competing for a job though, one who basically never overlaps and always wants to drive into central areas and one who does the exact opposite, but who are both extremely attack minded with clear defensive deficiencies. Bradley is like a number 8 playing at right back and frimpong a right winger.
{Ed001's Note - they could both do it, if the two midfielders sit, which would also be better for Wirtz as they only get in his way at the moment.}
