The game felt like a must win. Chelsea are inconsistent and have several key players missing through injury so were ripe for the picking. We needed 3 points. Arsenal are now being lauded as favorites for the title even at this early stage, they are top and we are now playing catch up. They went from 5 points behind to a point ahead in a 2 game period. We had to win, end of.
Do I think Slot will be brave and drop Konate, Kerkez Mac and Wirtz. No I don't think he will. Personally I think Mash, VvD, Gomez, Robbo, Bradley, Grav, Szob, Mo, Fede, Rio, Isak is the team to start.
As we don't play till Sunday tea time in our first game after the international break, we could even be out of the top 4. And that game is United who surely by then will have a new manager. The last thing we need is to come back from the international break and play a United team with the new manager bounce.
Amorim has had a lot of negativity as regards to his refusal to change. Slot may well find the same criticism aimed at him if we continue to play the same dull slow football we have been.

And there's a good chance Amorim will still be the manager of United when we play them.

No game is a must win in October. I feel some fans can’t put anything into perspective and just get swept along with whatever narrative the media wants to push on them.
Of course Arsenal are favourites they’ve won their last 2 and we’ve lost our last 2. But it’s October it has very little relevance to what happens in April and May when these 2 losses will be a distant memory.
Of course we don’t want to lose games. It hurts but it happens. The good thing is that we got off to a great start with 5 wins out of 5 and we are only 1 point behind the leaders. It’s a set back but it’s not terminal and we have plenty of time left in the season to put it right.

did anyone feel in control of the league before we lost to palace?
this idea that we "need" to do anything that will determine the league is lame.
What we need to do is get ourselves up and running and be in the convo at the business end of the season.

To win the league all games are must wins.
3 points are 3 points regardless of the month.
Everton usually are a prime example of not picking up much points and then collecting 3 points like they are going out of fashion the last few games of the season. And that’s just to stay in the league.
