Proud Irishman here today on what was an unbelievable result in Budapest rode our luck but never gave up and got an amazing winner at the death. 2 points of note 1st :- Slobasli was different gravy ran the show for Hungary world class as we all know 2:- Kerkez is an extremely poor defender he's a liability for liverpool and for Hungary, Tsimikas is actually better defensively and that's not saying much might have wasted good money on a bit of a donkey.

don't really care right now as Ireland have made the playoffs and the possibility of reaching the world Cup which looked a million miles away after our 1st 2 games absolutely made up what a result.

It was just brilliant, absolutely brilliant no other words.

16 Nov 2025 17:12:41
Kerkez's confidence is shot, he was great for Bournemouth. Congratulations to Ireland though it would be great to see them at the World Cup.

Yeah. Saw that game too and slobozlai was heads and shoulder above everyone else. Gutted for him that a player of his stature will miss wc next summer. Agree about kerkez. Oh boy he is just not good enough at the highest level. His actual defensive awareness and iq is non existent.

Just not good enough. A bad purchase by slot, but easy to be wise in hindsight. On another note, delighted for kelleher to make it to playoffs. A superb, quality keeper. Kept the Ireland team in the game and wc qualifiers.

Sure was Digger mate.

{Ed025's Note - im made up for you ZIPPY..

What a result from the boys in Green. They kept going and got the goal ?.

16 Nov 2025 18:16:38
Talk about kick a lad when he’s down. Kerkez’s confidence is shot to pieces. Was top class last season.

16 Nov 2025 18:30:40
Really? Ireland made the WC? Super happy for them. Always had a soft spot for Ireland esp. with some of their players being LFC players at the start of my support for the club.

16 Nov 2025 18:52:52
We only threw to playoffs oli but we've had lsuch a poor time for guts of a decade it a massive result for us.

16 Nov 2025 19:38:51
I don't think anyone is trying to kick Kerkez while he's been down but he has been very poor in both games I have seen against Ireland and in the games for Liverpool. What I don't like especially is he dives a lot to get frees/ penos which I hope he cuts out of his game.

I genuinely hope he goes on to have a great career for us it just from what i've seen so far he worries me.

Digger, Barry - I loved it - mad game . I thought the first was offside. I thought the pen wasn’t going to be given. Their second was an absolute gem! But that last goal was epic. I really hope we make it! I usually hate international football but would love to make the World Cup.

Kelleher is a far superior keep marshmallow- I don’t understand the price difference. Agree with the szlob comment - clearly the best player on the pitch by far!

16 Nov 2025 21:27:43
My voice still hasn’t come back when that third goal went in. Amazing. Shame we’ve to wait do long to see who we’ll play but after the last three wins we are suddenly confident.

16 Nov 2025 21:41:15
Kelleher and Parrot won that game for us, unbelievable match! COYBIG.

17 Nov 2025 15:58:19
Not sure with Kerkez whether he has the game intelligence for the real top level, but he looked a much better player at Bournemouth so he’s definitely capable of sustaining a good premier league level.

Some players just don’t suit bigger clubs or different systems, I’ve lost track of how many defenders Man Utd have bought in recent years and most of them have failed badly despite looking good in other teams.

17 Nov 2025 16:00:06
Staying with the whole Irish/ Liverpool connection. Has anyone noticed Liverpool Town Hall in the Christmas Guinness advert?

17 Nov 2025 20:34:47
I empathise, Digger10. If it's the playoffs then you know, break a leg (In America, it means good luck) and give it a right go.

Whatchu got to lose? N btw, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself", said former POTUS Franklin Delanoe Roosevelt.

All the best, my dear Irish brothers and sisters.
