Ed1, what do you think of Carra hinting that Gakpo could be on his way.
I for one think that's a mistake. He has a good goals/ games ratio works hard for the team always gives 100%.
Not quite his best season this year but the same could be said of half our first team.
Hope its not true.

If a price upwards of 80mill pounds, possibly 90, is being bandied about for Gakpo I think the club would have to consider it. If that were the case then I'd imagine Semenyo would play left wing for us in the short term rather than on the right, with Rio being second choice and Wirtz playing there sometimes.

I have to add that I do think he is a top player, he consistently gets the numbers for an elite club in the toughest competition in the world, I don't think we properly recognize just how difficult that is and the tier of player that he is currently in. Diaz absolutely lighting it up in the Bundesliga is pretty much proof of that.

He did say a star or two. The preference is probably Macca, but if we’re getting Semenyo and can also play Wirtz off the left then Gakpo would be the other obvious one to raise funds. The big question would be who would pay enough for either player. Macca would have to be Spain, Gakpo could be someone like a Tottenham or Newcastle.

Rio is nowhere near a LFC starter 11 if we have ambition to win the PL or EC. He's not ready for it yet.

Gakpo signed a new deal last season. He may not be irreplaceable. He will however be VER difficult to move. Just my take.

That makes more sense. They are all replaceable given the right offer.

Gakpo will probably end up the highest scoring LW in the toughest league around. Can be frustrating at times but we have bigger problems than Gakpo to prioritise. CB or RB would be 1st on my list.

I like Gapko I just wish he would change it up sometimes.
Everything seems to depend on how he runs at the full back. If they give him room and he gets his touch right when he shifts the ball for a shot it's all good, he gets most shots away.
However I wish he would go round the back of the FB more often and drill the ball along the 6 yard box.
How teams let him constantly get shots away baffles me. He's just too predictable. When he gets it right tho .
Not sure he's ready to be sold tho? Not this season.

I must be going mad. Gakpo is a bang average winger, a one trick pony who disappears most of the time. I've never seen a footballer that is 6ft4 so weak and timid, when I see his name on the teamsheet I feel absolutely nothing.

Thunderbird 2 - he does score a decent amount each season, and although patchy, his goals for can't be denied. His selfishness does result in some missed goals, and he doesn't seem to link that well with Kerkez or Wirtz, so who knows what the thinking is.
I think if Macca leaves its because he wants to, which is fair enough - Gakpo, would be for bigger picture/ tactical reasons though, as i see it.

Gakpo is a good squad player for a top class team. If he’s a starter for the top class team is doubtful but he does have a goal or two in his game and there are others I would prefer to replace before him.
