This is the most charitable way of looking at it really, and fair play you want to give Slot benefit of the doubt. I would not agree with everything you’ve said, namely that we won the league “in style” - I thought we were pretty mediocre from last January but just ground out results - and that we’ve been unlucky this season. We have played abysmally this season, bar maybe 2-3 games? It is not good enough, and not merely a “luck” issue.
There are very simple things that he is getting wrong, so simple that it raises serious questions over his ability to perform. Why does the team look leggy and devoid of fitness? If nothing else they should be able to be relentless none stop for 90 minutes - they struggle to do so for longer than 5 minutes. Ekitike has looked far, far more impactful than Isak, yet Isak starts every game, why? This doesn’t make any sense, and is such a glaringly obvious thing to see. I think the writing is on the wall to be honest, we are in relegation form and look bereft of confidence and cohesion, and Slot has seemingly lost the ability to make meaningful tactical changes in games.

Isak doesn't start every game.

Isak has been awful no denying that but whilst Ekitike did hit the ground running he’s got something like 1 goal in his last 9 appearances for us.
He’s easily been our best signing so far but for me he’s just been the best of a bad bunch.
However we know that bad bunch could be an excellent bunch. They just haven’t been.
{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he was going well until he was dumped for Isak.}

The way we are just sticking isak out there to feed on scraps is kind of criminal if you ask me, at Newcastle he was always involved in the play and had two wide players in Gordon and Murphy who would feed him whenever they could.
Now i appreciate that we have three goalscorers on the field with mo and cody who are the precise opposite of touchline hugging crossing wingers, and I also understand that isak won't have as much of the ball as he did at Newcastle and has to do more with less, but playing him in this fashion is like having 10 players on the field on or off the ball. We can't have two wingers whose only thought is to go for goal themselves every chance they get when we have one of the best 9s in the world, it just isn't going to work even after isak gets match fit finally.
I thought the plan was for our attackers to rotate and confuse the opposition, not have our 9 be a ghost on the field and for our wingers to be the solitary source of goals every game (and goals they have to create themselves by isolating their fullback) .
One of the saddest things about the forest game was isak coming off and looking sheepish and almost glad to have come off the field. I do think he has to show more than he has done but to be fair a lot of the time he doesn't even look like he features in the game plan beforehand.

Yeah. More over he looks like trying to do everything and shooting from improbable angles last few games while keeping head down.
He was not doing that in the initial games when he got his goals.
When we were linked with him earlier, watched his videos where this negative trait was clearly captured. Hope he looks up more and passes when in tight space / angles.

Thing with Ekitike is, he was flying 6 goals in as many games until this year's version of Slot stepped in n took our in form striker out the team n played a half fit Isak, Ekitike confidence hit the floor like the rest of our team. some shocking decisions this year by Slot but that's the worst one.

Ed001 that’s true. I think isaks first start was a much changed league cup game that Ekitike got sent off in so Isak had to start next league game.

Strom, Ekitike could possibly have taken that gesture you described as an F u, add the red card and the way Slot went for him publicly possibly added to the F u.
Slot imo should have told the press, If there’s anything to be said, it will be in house.
Slot could have been hitting home the expected standards at LFC, yet I think this is possibly where the dressing room has been lost to a degree, the public hanging of a new player.

Kew 17 . I agree Ekitike most prob thought what's the point, getting dropped for an unfit player . last year he dropped Quansah after the 1st game n everybody thought wow this is a man who takes no nonsense, then this year he has left Salah on most games, played Macallister who has been woeful but his biggest F up has been playing a player who won't even sign a contract but playing the worst football he's ever played n still picking him.

But Slot has always been like that, even during our winning ways last year. Being asked about Endo's good game, and Slot would answer with something like "yes but (so and so) was equally good if not better". He even admitted he should have used Endo more, and we see how that has happened this year. And he's clearly hung Ekitike out to dry, for all to see.
This is a key difference with Klopp. Klopp would go to war for his players, even when they were wrong. That's how he earned respect and loyalty from them. This dude has no clue.

Slot isn't a prem league manager, just another ten haag or amor in. . If he'd of changed us straight away we wouldn't of won the league. We won the league with the players playing how they was for years under klopp.
Still slot was picking wrong teams at times and getting lucky making changes at half time. Very poor selection of manager for me from day 1. His severe lack of man management is the undoing.

PatrikBurgher - And yet to defend Slot and seem sure that he will go on to be a great, elite level manager. Who is to blame for the current predicament?

ed1 - yeah it was random, i can't recall which game, but Isak made his first start and it felt rushed. He didn't look fit and just looked out of place.
Ekitike hasn't quite hit the heights of the games before that moment. and also let's not forget the second yellow he picked up when removing his top to show off his name.
I don't care about the ego, but was more interested in what it potentially revealed about his mentality since Isak came in and then suddenly got pushed ahead of him to start.
Hope he gets back to his best soon.
