Shout to Chiesa. Thing he deserves his own thread for that effort alone
Was heartening to see the fight from the player, especially given the lack of trust and game time he gets while others who play ahead of him stink out the joint again and again and again.

He embodies the spirit the team requires and deserves a chance. Thought it was a very poor performance all round but Gakpo was really not good. Maybe Chiesa in for Gakpo against Leeds?

Chiesa is not the second coming of jesus. What has he done of note other than score a couple of goals and run around making lots of effort. He tries hard and it is great to see but that’s the bare minimum we should expect off players earning hundred of thousands a week.
A lot of people looking to Chiesa’s absence as a factor to why we are playing poorly yet forget the sitters he missed. I love the guy’s enthusiasm but he’s not much different to Harvey Elliot who also looked top notch when he was brought on in the 81st minute.

Nah jokes, just to explain - NO ONE IS SAYING HE IS THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS.
But! in a squad, we expect competition, players vying for starting spots, players taking chances when they get them. If you are making the case that Chiesa has not made the most of the very limited chances he has been given this season, then I think you must be in the Slot school of favouritsm for a small group of select players.
We want to see players rewarded for playing well. We don't want to see players consistently rewarding for play sh*t
Chiesa has done more than enough this season to earn more minutes than the garbage time he is given. That isn't saying he is prime Ronaldo, it's saying that we have a squad so f***ing use the players at your disposal.

Darwin. In his VERY limited minutes he has scored goals, assisted goals, created chances, prevented goals and most importantly he has given 100%. He works his ar$e off and is the embodiment of all of the good things that the rest of the squad are currently severely lacking in. The fact that he is not given a single start in a game over the likes of Gakpo is quite frankly outrageous. The only time he gets to start a game is surrounded by U21 players.
When you have the likes of Virg, Konate, Macca, Gakpo and Salah walking around the pitch and stealing a wage week-in-week-out it jut makes no sense. What we are so severely lacking is players with the hunger and desire of Chiesa in the team. It might be that he is best as an impact sub but he can't be any worse that what Slot is repeatedly selecting.

Darwin respectfully, I ain't trying to hear no chat/ slander of any kind about Chiesa right now esp. after he literally embarrassed Slot for the whole world to see. Imagine trying to project this very good player and and even better gentleman, that he is arse yet when we see him play he gives WAY more effort than some of those proposed to be better than him? That is what Slot is doing and failing it, really.
Chiesa could have quit on the play last night BUT due to his immense mentality and desire NOT to lose, he kept up with the play and foiled it. If you think anyone would have blamed Chiesa for not stopping the goal then, you are gravely mistaken.
Also, the whole "Chiesa is not the second coming. " or the "What has he done? . " blah, blah, blah is just a waste of typing time. Not a soul has said Chiesa was the second coming of diddly squat. Nor have I seen anyone say his absence is the so stop posting stuff nobody actually said.
All people are saying is that they want Chiesa to get the same chances others like Gakpo and even Salah are getting so we can see what he can do esp. since when he comes on, he plays well and scores/ assists on occasion. He clearly can't be that bad cos NOBODY is that good in the attack right now. Please respectfully, try to distinguish the difference.

I can’t recall Chiesa missing a hatful of chances, I can however recall him making a difference in games and showing skill, guile, determination and grit, actually trying to make things happen.
Fact is, if he didn’t make that lung bursting run we lose 2-1 at home. Thank f someone hat the minerals to actually do it. Not often I agree with you Faith, but I absolutely do here.

Great lung-bursting run from him last night but i don't see why he people are so insistent he’s some kind of unheralded messiah. He tries really hard but that attribute isn’t exceptional, it is expected. He also has more energy because he only plays 10 mins a week. I like him as a player but i don’t see the hype.

Nice dodge, mate. If you can't respond to the facts I put out (supported by other posters like Victor, Faith, Shipley etc. ) then, you could just say so rather than issue such a pathetic dodge.
Your response clearly shows that Slot is not the only one Chiesa embarrassed last night at this point. Sad for both of you.
And one last thing: You have responded to my posts in the recent past so I know you read this one.
