Personally I thought giving Salah a contract was a mistake. He was never going to replicate last season's form and should have been allowed to leave. Especially given we have a number of players who can play on that side, who do also put the work in defensively and would also play more like the orthodox winger that we clearly need for Hugo/ isak
But Salah crying in the press is something the club shouldn't tolerate, a distinct lack of respect to the club that just gifted him a contract which he's currently not earning at all. I'm not a big slot fan either but it's not a players job to slate the manager in the press, its literally bad for everyone involved.
Pick a Liverpool manager from the past and none would put up with it except maybe Roy or Brenda. Salah should be reminded he plays for the club, not the other way around.

And pick any manager from the past, none would have treated Salah the way Slot is right now. And none would have put Salah in a position where he actually needed to go into an interview and say what he said. Maybe the way he went about it was wrong, but what he said wasn’t. He IS being made to look like a scapegoat for our poor form. There are other players who have played just as badly, or even worse, but they keep getting picked week in, week out.
Konate is an accident waiting to happen every game, but he keeps getting picked. Macca is another one. Isak gets picked even when he’s not fit, over an in-form Ekitike. How many times has Chiesa saved us this season, yet Gakpo keeps getting picked ahead of him? Liverpool is in a mess, but it’s not because of this Salah interview.
{Ed025's Note - dont try and defend the indefensible Mfahmee, he has been a great player yes but you have to earn your place mate and Mo has not lately, nobody is bigger than the club and for me Salah is being a complete prick by going public the way he has, well thats my view anyway..

Funny how everyone now is saying Salah shouldn’t have got a new contract when in January and everyone was rubbishting a brick that he would leave. I guess hindsight makes geniuses out of all of us.

And what about of Konate Ed? What has he done this season to earn his place in the team week in, week out? He has been a disaster, more so than Salah, but keeps getting picked anyway. What about Macca, VVD and Gakpo etc.? If in my office my boss kept picking this one colleague even though he kept making mistakes, I would be pissed too.

Whether we agree with the choices he makes or not, the manager always, always has the right to bench a player if he thinks it gives him a better chance of winning a football game. Surely as a professional football player you accept this.
I love Mo as much as anybody on this site but what he did was bang out of order, it only brings more negativity to our club by airing dirty laundry in public, how is coming out and saying what he said going to help the team that he supposedly loves? He is effectively giving the club an ultimatum saying they have to choose between him and the manager.
Some of you hate Slot so much that you're going to defend Mo doing something like this just because it increases the likelihood that Slot will be forced out. For me that's not at all my concern, my concern is my club being dragged in the mud because of this sort of nonsense.
For so long we have been a club that has been built upon togetherness, trust and camaraderie, Mo is perfectly within his rights to feel hard done by being benched three games in a row, he's perfectly within his rights to feel like his relationship with Slot has collapsed, but to do what he did at a time like this, it's not in keeping with the standards, ethos and culture of our beloved club.
I don't know what to say beyond that, and I don't agree with people taking sides between Slot and Salah, for me the whole situation just makes me very sad to be a Liverpool fan more than anything.

For what its worth, here's my take on it. The modern premier player (like Mo) have completely lost touch with reality. And as such, they lack humility.
Instead of helping his team-mates, encouraging them, and utilising all of that experience he speaks of; he makes it all about (poor) Mo.
With reflection, how could it be any other way? They all live in a bubble, detached from the price of spuds.

Morning all/ Ed025. I apologise for repeating what I said last night; Salah was bang out of order! Ed01 questioned me on it, which he and everyone else has every right to do. You and I are very much on the same page Ed025. We were in an absolute mess before he came out with his whingeing, he has now added to it.
He has been a great player, of that there is no doubt, but in doing what he's done has left a sour taste. King Kenny and John Barnes would never have done such a thing and despite Salah's record, he will never sit with those 2, in my opinion.
{Ed025's Note - for me he has tainted his legacy Rome, the club could have cashed in on him last year for £squillions mate but they gave him a contract on obscene wages even at the age of 32...now thats loyalty, i hope he goes now..

As for Salahs interview, people don't know what's been said behind closed doors. th3y might have said if u stay you don't have to track back etc etc you will start every game maybe that's what they said to him for him to stay. who knows eh.
