Well guys and girls, the slot machine has officially ran dry. It’s out of funds after hitting the jackpot in the summer, and now finds itself being praised for utter dross football, being 5th in the league behind teams we should be competing with, and some of the fans think it’s acceptable as the team is in “rebuild”.

Sorry but I won’t be pumping any more funds into the slot machine not to watch this utter crap. Apparently we’re close to being the team slot wants so good luck to anyone who sings for slot and thinks this is going to save his skin.

LFC have a nice run of fixtures in the coming weeks, in there, are chances to take points off Arsenal and MC. A few people are going to look pretty stupid if results go our way. The football isn’t pretty at the moment, no arguing that, but I haven’t seen many good performances from teams this year, Arsenal are winning ugly for the last month.

As for the teams we should be competing with, we are level on points with Chelsea, and have beaten both Aston Villa and Arsenal this season.

21 Dec 2025 21:17:48
So we shouldn’t be competing with Arsenal and Man City despite beating both to the league last season and having £450 mill spent on some fantastic players who are being made to play well below their means? Mmmm…

Secondly who will look stupid if we win these easier games? We should expect to win them so why would I look stupid? What’s stupid is not seeing what’s in front of you, all this nonsense about well we won so it’s fine works with the “we want slot to get more time parade” until the next loss then your out with the daggers, then their out away when we win another game, I’m not caring if we win the champs league this season under slot and scrape top 4 he has to go. Terrible football, ignorant and arrogant and time to let someone run the team who can just get the basics right!

21 Dec 2025 21:53:40
If we were to win the Champions League, Slotthedross, I would consider that to be getting the basics right. I'm not quite sure what your "basics" means.

21 Dec 2025 22:37:00
Slotthedross, a new account set up to abuse Slot. Probably a Man U fan.

21 Dec 2025 22:49:19
It crossed my mind, Darwins.

21 Dec 2025 23:07:40
Well said Slotthedross I totally agree.

21 Dec 2025 23:41:53
Slot out now I don’t watch any of the games now whilst we have him as manager boring football and must be like watching paint dry.

21 Dec 2025 23:42:33
Man U fan? I’ve supported LFC probably longer than you have been alive, why when someone “new” comes along do you feel you need to gatekeep and call them a troll? Just because I have differing views from you and Rome doesn't mean I don’t have the right to air my views, I don’t get this “your a troll” nonsense when you literally have zero argument. Anyway if I was a Man U fan and slagging off slot would that not be kind of ironic since they have their own manager issues on par with ours… maybe let the big boys play and go back the playground of you can’t handle someone having a different opinion? And Rome the basics is getting the players fit, getting the defense sorted, you know the basics that you need to learn to be successful, we ain’t winning the champions league so I need not worry, but hey it’s a transition year (sorry ed2 for making you the in your grave using that word) .

You gents enjoy sticking up for this mediocre nonsense I’m a realist and slot won’t be here by end of the season I guarantee my house, job and everything I own on that.

22 Dec 2025 00:36:38
"I’m a realist and slot won’t be here by end of the season I guarantee my house, job and everything I own on that. "

Can we get that pinned on the page Ed? ;)

{Ed001's Note - oh god no, please not again!}

Slotthedross. I have viewed this site since the days of Rafa and love the mix of views both positive and negative over the years. Your opinions are as important as anyone elses but you bring nothing to the discussion by perpetually posting ‘Slot sucks and has to go’.
You are right, it’s not my place to gate-keep posts, but this site is great because of the nuanced discussions that occur rather than a bunch of angry old men having a vent. It seems like every post gets hijacked with vitriol towards Slot by posters who offer no reasonable solutions.

It’s become an online primal scream room.
Whats more mind-blowing is we just won a match, are unbeaten in 6 and moved up a couple of places in the table. Our biggest crime in the past month is that we are boring, yet the rage is increasing.
Does Slot have to go? Possibly, but reiterating that point post after post ends up making this site as uninspiring as Liverpools current form.

A realist would acknowledge that winning matches improves morale in the team, and supporters.

Winning the Premiership is recognised as the most difficult domestic task in world football, we did it, then lost over half the team that won it (I’m including Ali’s extended absence and Robbo’s decline in that) and, an integral part of our offensive capability when playing out from the back, TAA, so bringing in so many new players was never going to be a seamless transition. A realist would understand that.

I doubt anyone wants your house or everything you own, it may not be worth much, we can all see signs of Wirtz getting to grips with life in the PL, Kerkez is improving, Frimpong looked lively when he came on (I’m not sure his best position is FB though), he may well play on the wing while Mo is away, Ekiteke is a star and Isak scored his first goal, these are all positives, real positives in the last few weeks.

Slotthedross, if Konate wasn’t such a liability, we would be closer to Arsenal, but it isn’t Slot’s fault that Guehi didn’t sign, or Leoni got injured. Ibou is only in the team because there is no alternative. Injuries have also played a part, Mac, Bradley, Ali, Frimpong, Isak have all missed matches and Mo’s output has declined, they are real issues.

We all laughed at Arsenal buying a team of defenders, but you can now see the merit of it, we lost three CBs a few years ago and our season after winning the league imploded, were you a realist then calling for Klopp to go? Arsenal have been able to continue to win, albeit just about scraping over the line because they have so many good defenders to cover injuries. MC went through a torrid run last year, losing 9 matches in 2 months, a realist like yourself would have wanted Pep out, I think MC will win the league this year.

We should all be glad that realists like yourself aren’t in charge of football clubs.

Well, that was feisty but I get your point SlotTheDross. I have never celebrated a managers sacking like I did Rodgers in 2015 and I'm itching to do more, when Slot finally gets the boot. It's true we ve won a couple of games but my! I escape sleeping off by a whisker every other time.

As for the title race, wouldn't it be cool, if Aston Villa came top? Regardless, I would rather lose it to City or Villa than Arsenal. The fans are weirdly loud and are quite irritating. They're also less terrible to us tactically (alas Atlético Madrid) but fitter. Btw, do we really have a fitness coach? If we do, he should lose his job ASAP. Our players are dropping like flies.

22 Dec 2025 07:42:51
Why is it ok to blame konate for everything that’s gone wrong but not slot? He’s struggled with this new style of play and had 5 different players play rb that he’s helped out too. Virg has had 2 lb’s next to him but they get the blame if we concede from that side? And p. off with the “we never signed Guehi” shouts to blame for defeats too.

Gomez has sat in the bench all season and if konate is that crap joe is an able replacement. Slot has played midfielders at rb and cb when Gomez has been sat on the bench that’s bad management! I’m sick of the he hasn’t got faith in certain players shout too. It’s not faith in the players it’s faith in slot that’s not there.

22 Dec 2025 08:01:30
Slotthedross, I don't wish it on you, but you will therefore be homeless by the end of year. Slot will still be in charge come the end of the season. It's not that I'm firmly in his corner, and I'm not keen on some of the football we are playing, but, the powers that be will stand by him, given he brought us number 20, whether you or anyone else likes it.

Regards to those who can no longer bother watching us on their screens, that is your obvious right. However, in my opinion, you're not true supporters.

22 Dec 2025 08:43:44
Why wouldn’t someone watch the game. You a fan or a customer?
Sounds like typical customer behaviour to me.

22 Dec 2025 09:14:44
For all me sins I still watch Rome. Don’t go the game anymore ( even tho I’ve got access to tickets from time to time I won’t take them they should go to hardcore supporters not the likes of me)

22 Dec 2025 09:50:31
Rome calling out true supporters, please tell me what a true supporter is? How about the supporters who can’t afford sky or tnt sport to watch the games are they not true supporters?

22 Dec 2025 10:27:44
Scouse John, we don't always agree on stuff, but you're heart's in the right place. I'm not a Scouser, like yourself, but I take advantage of having access to tickets. Folk have always, and always will, disagree about the team they support, their manager and players. At the end of the day, it's just someone's opinion, and it's only football. Merry Christmas to you, mate.

22 Dec 2025 11:00:46
Slotthedross, a "true supporter' is, I suppose, subjective. However, in my opinion, someone who has access to be able to watch on their devises and chooses not to, because they "don't like watching us" isn't a "true supporter", for sure.

I go to games with blokes who consider folk who just watch on tele to not be supporters at all. That's their opinion. Like I say, subjective.

22 Dec 2025 13:49:04
@scouse John L8, as Slot so eloquently put it, Konate is too often at the scene of the crime. Slots tactics didn’t make Ibou slide in on the Leeds player for their first, or turn his back for the second. If you look back at the goals conceded this season, unfortunately Ibou is the most common factor. He just isn’t a top class defender, and is often actually a liability.

I like Joe Gomez, it is worth remembering he was Virg’s partner when LFC last won the league under Klopp, but he is not the player now he was then, injuries have taken their toll and again last week, he broke down. He may be an able replacement, unfortunately he is no long an able body replacement at CB.

You could be sitting alone on a bench if you don’t think not signing a starting CB has at least in some part contributed to defensive issues. Arsenal are currently showing the benefit of having 4 good CBs, again you only have to go back to the season after LFC won the PL and the CBs got injured, to see how the effect of a dysfunctional central defence.

23 Dec 2025 12:39:22
Not sure a false supporter, let alone a true one would have a username with such a lack of respect the the coach who was in charge of us winning the PL six months ago.
