Afternoon all,
Just my thoughts on why he needs to be gone right now.
There is something I cannot get my head around, if you have the best job in the world, manager of liverpool football club, or one of the best in managing another top team, why is it when you need to change something drastically in order to keep your job that you don't do a single thing about it. you keep plodding on in the same manner that has you in deep water to begin with.
I mean arne clearly knows that he's in big bother, he's not deaf blind and stupid, yet seems to have no care or worry about the situation, isn't that the biggest worry for the club and fans that the guy in charge isn't bothered about putting in the effort, even a tiny bit in changing something not only too save the clubs season but also his job.
you are at liverpool football club lad. where else would you like to be, no disrespect but you'd rather be at a mid table team or an inferior league. not giving it your all when you have an opportunity to be right at the very top!
Wether it be arrogance, stubbornness, lack of skills, not giving a **** or a combination of all liverpool does not have time for that nor should it have to be accepted by the fans who are the reason the club exists.
We shouldn't settle for anything but 100% commitment and dedication to every minute spent on the best touchline in the world.
Happy Monday.

I would assume its because the club don't want to be reactionary like say Man U and go through what they are going through constantly.
maybe they've written this season off as just a weird one influx of players, Jotas death. maybe they think Slot will get us top 4 potentially win a FA Cup or Champions League (our football looks better in europe), not saying the above is going to happen but there's a chance, then change it up in the summer.

@kloppers It isn't being reactionary anymore. He has been given months now which is ample time to at least show that he is turning things round but nothing is changing. Sacking him in November would have been reactionary but with hindsight it would also have proved to be the correct decision.
With Chelsea and United boosted by bringing in new managers I can see no way in which Slot has the ability to keep us in the top 4.
On current form we are more likely to finish in the bottom half.
'Writing off this season' will have a huge knock on effect when we are not playing CL football next season (with or without Slot).

The problem is Hughes and Edwards, selling Lucho, Nunez in same window. And then getting Isak in. Did u not realise Slot was trying to fit wirtz, isak, salah, ekitike, frimpong, kerkez in without any pre season?

I hear ya kloppers, I guess I was more on about the man himself, I mean its just absurd not to change something, anything, get the gloves up and try and smash the next thing coming at you. to lie down and go out so tamely I just can't understand.

I agree, Kloppers. If they sack him now then potentially, they have written off the season as there is a chance he doesn't get top 4 cos the fact is, things aren't improving.
We have only scored 3 goals in 2026. No wins since the turn of the year despite playing relegation fodder and midtable Fulham. 5 wins in the PL since game week 6. There's more where that came from, btw.
So if they keep him or sack him now, there are no guarantees CL will happen or not happen. Could the window to sack have passed? Probably. The board is in a pickle now, IMO.

HP, the only player who did not have a preseason out of those you mentioned was Isak. The other players were bought were done fairly early in the window.
Honestly, the way that you misremember or misquote things to prove your point reminds me so much of Harry. The only reason why I think you're not him is that Harry would be bashing Slot constantly for the crap we are being served which is contrary to what you're doing.

Yeah I agree with what everyone is saying it's been poor, and it's not good enough I just don't think he's losing his job at the moment if we are still in within a shout of two trophy's and top 4 if he was going to be sacked it should of happened a few weeks ago.
if we get battered by Marseille I reckon that could be the point of reaction.

It should simply be a matter of business risk.
We need the CL income to complete the rebuild.
They should act accordingly. The coach has had plenty of time to improve the performance levels. Other than flooding the midfield to stop the rot, we haven't really seen any green shoots towards being a good team again. We're still ball watching, ponderous and risk averse off and on ball.

Nail on the head, FPF.

HappyPeter - What are you smoking mate?! No pre-season?! Wirtz, Frimpong and Kerkez all signed in June, Ekitike signed in July. The only one with no pre-season was Isak. I'm not even going o address the fac that you included Salah's name
Kloppers - Seems like you didn't read the post. OP was asking why Arne hasn't made an observable effort to change things up. You're talking about why the club hasn't made changes to staff.

How can anyone possibly have a go at us selling Lucho and Darwin in the same window? Lucho had wanted to go for 2 seasons and Darwin had become the whipping boy!
We had no choice with Lucho and everyone was jumping for joy when Darwin left. Just revisionary nonsense.
Added to that we replaced them with Wirtz, Isak and Ekitike. No one was complaining about that in the summer, it looked like unbelievable business and it was!
Just because they haven't all hit the ground running suddenly everyone was against it and always knew better?
Pull the other one.
