Think you have give things a little time before analysing what you've just seen. Emotions are always heightened directly after the game. First we controlled the game for opening 20 minutes without really looking dangerous. Then an individual mistake by your most senior player and captain, not on Slot that one. Should have had Endo ready and on the pitch much sooner. To me Salah's presence made Wirtz go back into his shell a little, is it a coincidence Salah back in the team and we concede 3 and probably should have of been more? Think we lacked a genuine leader on the pitch ala Henderson, Milner.
A kind of player who'd bite into tackles set the standard in terms of commitment and desire. To many players pulled out of 50/ 50s. Another thing when teams go into a low block as Bournemouth did when 2 up, why didn't anyone take a chance and have shot from range? We seemed to intent on making another pass to create a better chance closer in why? Yes 9 out 10 times you'd not score and probably turn over possession, how many have we scored from outside the area this season apart from Szo free kicks like our second?

Gravenberch has a few but that's about it as far as my memory serves.
Van Djik and his laid back demeanour can sometimes be deceptive but last night he was horizontal.
Salah seems to have come back from the Afcon a worse player than he was when he left, I had hoped he'd find some rhythm while away with Egypt yet all he seems capable of finding is row Z.

Who put Salah back in the Team? Salah didn't play v Leeds (twice) or Sunderland or fulham or burnley. Sick of everyone blaming salah for nothing and everything, when we have been SHOCKING without him too.

No one took a chance to take a shot from range because they're instructed to work the ball slowly into the box instead. Can't you see that?
As for 'individual mistakes' not being on Slot, when basically our entire season has been 'stand off the opposition until there's an individual mistake' then maybe it is on Slot? Maybe it's on Slot that a Bournemouth CB is given a geological eon to play a ball forward without being closed down? Maybe it's on Slot that our players have look gassed after 70 minutes all season?
I mean the other option is our best players from last season all decided they wanted to be terrible and the entire squad went on a Big Mac diet, isn't it?

We don't tackle, we don't press, we don't counterpress, we don't run, we don't counterattack, we can't defend corners/ long throws, we don't score from corners and we have almost zero verticality in our passing.
We are just a late stage Wenger team now. A sorry sight.

Agreed. How is it salah's fault that van dijk has a mare, that grav can't stay where he is supposed to be, that Mac Alister can't run, that gakpo is so poor, that wirtz gave the ball away around 10 times last night.
Obviously Salah is not at his best but name one player that is really playing to their peak. It ain't salah's fault it's the guy in charge.

SlotsBarber - Some people just don't want to acknowledge that the problem is clearly the manager. Instead we'll blame club legends cos they're getting old even though they were absolutely fine last year. Must've had a switch go off on their birthdays, I guess.
Maybe we'll make illusions to Shankly being too loyal to his first team and Paisley's statement about wanting players legs to go on someone else's pitch, cos stuff like that is better than having thoughts of our own.
Like I get it, do you think I *want* to be here talking about sacking one of only two managers to win the league with us in 30 years? None of us want to be doing that, but jfc people, use your eyes.
25 Jan 2026 12:23:59
More excuses. I'm sick of excuses like the players are tired for example. He needs to be sacked ASAP.
25 Jan 2026 12:28:39
Salah nearly always comes back from AFCON a worse player. Why do we expect anything different this time?
However, the way we play is on Slot, not the players. This includes agression and style.
Our fitness levels are on the coaching staff, Slot is the boss. On him again.
Lack of rotation and refusal to use the entire squad is on Slot.
The excuses on here are only matched by the excuses from Slot. Time to man up.

Every time Bournemouth had possession there was a huge gaping space to run into and run at our defenders. That's on the manager. When Klopp was in charge there was never that kind of void when we were at our best. Any of Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner would press and harass the opponent so they didn't have time on the ball and then they'd be met with Fabinho who'd invariably snuff out an attack and win the ball back.
The protection a midfield like that gives is invaluable. What we have now is a bunch of lightweights who don't press, don't tackle and are strewn all over the pitch giving opponents too much time to have a go at our defence. Slot has had ample time to fix it but he hasn't. So he has to go.

According to bbc stats 7 of our 14 shots yesterday were from outside the box. The problem is half of them we're blocked by a Bournemouth player standing about a foot away from the shot taker. so should they have been taking the shot anyway?
25 Jan 2026 13:03:25
I'll be honest I thought every player had a mare yesterday including Salah.
Every single player is having a worse season than they did last season. Szob gets some credit but I'd still say he was better last season.
This season he's just the best of a bad bunch.

How on earth does Salah get the blame for our downfall, last year he was on fire n more or less won us the league, we had a system what suited him perfectly fast forward this season, he doesn't get the same service, the play is soo slow, he likes quick passes so he can run on to it, the management decided how we play, now he has lost his confidence, its a no brainer who fault it is this season for oue woes.
25 Jan 2026 13:13:38
Never once said it was Salah's fault, merely gave my opinion of his performances.
Against Marseille he was completely out of sorts but his work rate matched that of the rest of the team and contributed to a good performance.
Last night his shooting and passing were terrible.
25 Jan 2026 14:42:54
Salah's game was his pace that pace is on the wain . He just does not have the pace to beat younger players and it shows every game he plays . It is not his fault it happens to nearly every player unless your Ronaldo or Messi
I don't want say anything bad about Salah he has been outstanding for us but people need to understand Salah and VVD can not go on for ever father time catches up with us all i know because one day i was 21 the next day i am 68 .
YNWA.

Albey. he had the same speed as last year n he wasn't too shabby then. we are just not playing him the same way. of course we need to look at replacing him next season but we should have used him like last year not this dreadful tic a tac football, he could have bagged us a load of goals.
look at us now, not many goalscorers in the team yet we had one of the best last year.
