According to a Hungarian tabloid Blikk, Szoboszlai wants 300K a week (15m a year) if he is to sign another contract.
Are these still Superstar wages, or the new norm for senior first team players?
I like Szoboszlai, but despite him being compared to Gerrard, Gerrard he is not.

Not sure I've seen him winning us games or saving us games like those who are on those wages. He's no game changer. Decent player, usually consistent with his 7/ 10 performances. Good cog to the team but nothing more.

I would get him close to 200k. If he wants more, we should sell him, although not many teams can pay those wages.

Midfielders and attackers are usually on the most wages. Both Ekitike and Wirtz come in around 200kpw so as he's on 120kpw I'd say 200kpw would be ideal.

He's a runner and that's the sole reason he's stood out this season, because he runs more than our other players. He scores the odd free kick but the comparisons to Gerrard are utter garbage.

Unfortunately these wages are going to be the new norm for good players. Not saying he deserves that much but these pages have been of the belief that he's been our best player this season. We can't then say he's not worth the money when there's a few in the squad who would be on more. Thank God the suits keep upping that revenue.

You've got to factor in the expense of replacing him though. A top midfielder isn't coming in for less than £60m and well over £100k a week, so you have to play that off against his demands.
Plus, let's face it, without Szob we have a midfield with very little energy.

You know you can contribute to winning a game by doing your bit in midfield and actually putting a bit of graft in? You don't have to score a winning goal and make a goal line clearance to make a difference. Szobo is an extremely talented footballer on an upward curve. Being worth a salary of £300k a week is purely subjective. Personally I can't get my head around the wages these guys get but here we are.
Ekitike I'm told is already on £200k for a player that hasn't won a trophy, from a average German team and hadn't won an international cap for France until late, again that's where we are at in the PL, crazy wages.
If the club want to keep Szobo then negotiate and keep an extremely good footballer.

Not much of a difference in stats between Rice and Szobo for most part actually but I would welcome Rice with open arms to Liverpool. Some player.

Irish - Etikite is on 200 and Wirtz on 195 if the numbers quoted here are true.
That is why I said Ekitike is smart for getting such a lucrative deal.

I don't understand why fans get emotional about wages of our players.
Let the budget men worry about that and make the financial calls.
Szob is a good player who we want to keep around. The club will decide what his worth is and act accordingly.

According to capology (not sure how accurate they are) Gakpo is on 250k and Isak on 280k. So while i don't believe Szobo is worth 300k, i would definitely be asking to be paid more than those two given the output if i were in his position.

People do get emotional over players wages because its become obscene the amount they earn, the players are so aloof from the fans nowadays, its still a working class sport, the fans who go 99% of them don't get anywhere near a players weekly wage for the whole year they work.

Szob works his backside off every single game as well as having a better free kick repertoire than anyone else in the team. We should be keeping players like him not letting him go. Let the money-men haggle over his wages but we need to keep him.

Szob is better than Rice at everything. He's faster, better on the ball, has a better shot, better tackling, better passing.
Rice is a very good player but Szob is better. It's only because he's not English that pundits don't see it.

I said games as in many games with top performances 1jj not a one off free kick or penalty. Just look at his performance and our midfields in that first half. We need at least 2 new midfielders to compete.
