Is Elliott's move now permanent to Villa? Has he made 10 appearances?
19 Mar 2026 22:20:57
Pretty sure it's league games, mate, to make the deal permanent.

It is, JK. 10 PL games.

The fact that they are not playing him so they don't have to buy him says it all really.
I love Harvey and I watch Villa just hoping he gets on and has a good game, because the kid deserves to have a good career.
He's such a good kid and a very talented footballer. Unfortunately, he's not good enough for a top club. He just lacks the pace and physicality.

I hope he comes back. We need guys like him in the squad.

I'd love him back, Faith, but is he content to be a bit part squad player, because that's all he'll be.
I love his attitude, and he obviously loves the club, so if he's happy being a squad player, I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

An ok, thanks, lads. Pity for the fella. A bit of a s*** show for him. ?

I don't agree, Varry. If Curtis Jones is good enough for us then so is Harvey. I thought his output was better, based on fewer appearances. Many will argue Jones isn't good enough either, but we could have done with Harvey this season.

Take him as a squad player every day of the week. Especially in home games, when teams sit back. It all depends if he wants to do that bit-part role.

If I was Elliott, I'd be looking for a new agent. Emery didn't want Harvey from day 1. Seems like his agent was more interested in liming his own pocket more than anything else.

There's a reason why he was allowed leave. That's the same reason as not taking him back.
20 Mar 2026 09:27:53
Isn't his agent his dad?
20 Mar 2026 09:29:52
I think Elliott is good enough, but he is just not the right type of player for us. At the right team, I think he will be brilliant, but unfortunately, I don't think that team is Liverpool.
Ironically, he would have been more suited to the slow sideways play that we have played most of the season and would have probably got a lot more game time had he stayed, but hindsight is a wonderful thing and nobody wants us playing that way.

I hope Harvey comes back, a good player and home grown, which is needed for squad numbers.
20 Mar 2026 15:07:19
Look at the players ahead of Harvey in his preferred positions. And that's before we likely sign a new RW this summer. He left for a reason.

I'd keep Harvey, depending on incomings and outgoings. An English lad, on not a lot of money per week, might prove a decent rotation option, depending on how our squad looks come the end of the window.
20 Mar 2026 22:36:38
That's absolutely not any reason to keep him. The reason is, can he improve the squad? Can he affect games when he's on the pitch? Those are reasons. Not money or being a decent rotation option. Not if you want to win the big stuff. He's just not that good.
