Que the meltdown feel sorry for the ITKs and the Eds if Alonso not coming is true.
However Ed1 before the madness starts if we do go for Sebastian Hoeness, what kind of style does he usually play with, and do you feel he's a good fit for the current squad?
{Ed001's Note - he is similar to prime-Klopp in his style of play. Not quite as gung ho but the closest I have seen in Europe. Him or Iraola would be perfect fits I feel, they can adjust to suit what they have.}

I recall you speaking highly of him Ed.
It is good news.
Surely the higher up know they have to change. Arne is not the man to lead us forward.
Was really hoping for Xavi.
If your speaking that highly of Hoeness though, I'll be all in on him!
{Ed001's Note - I do like Hoeness.}

Klopp came to Liverpool as a title winner. Slot came to Liverpool as a title winner. Xabi Alonso is a title winner.
Iraola and Hoeness are big risks that a club that has been breaking the British transfer records shouldn't be making.
Hughes and Edwards trying too hard to be hipsters.

I do rate Hoeness myself

"Prime Klopp" you say, give Hoeness the job now!

Any manager is a risk. I accept that. I accept we will lose games. we will have periods of being dog muck. but as long as it doesn't last and tou can see everyone together. in it together. work rate from players. manager trying everything to chnage fortunes.all that was evident under klopp and any dip in form we had.
None of it is evident in how we are now and have been declining for best part of 14 months.
I refuse to believe FSG accept we are where we are because we have earned it. not everyone else has been so poor. massive drop in quality of the league this year. next season has disaster written all over it and slot being sacked by Christmas (if still here)

You had me at prime

I think Iraola is closer to Klopp in terms of intensity than Hoeness.
Iraola's teams do more running.

Ed1, we are at the tail end of the season, and a few top clubs might be looking for new managers. Like Man Utd, Liverpool if Slot does leave, City if Pep calls it a day, and Chelsea, who might regret appointing Rosenior.
I'm kind of interested to know your opinion on what will happen this summer in terms of the managerial merry-go-round, just maybe based on your information or some predictions from you, if you may.
{Ed001's Note - Pep has been trying to leave City for years but they keep persuading him to stay. So no idea if he will finally leave, but I would expect so, unless once again they can't find a replacement. They did speak to Maresca earlier in the season, while he was still at Chelsea but seem to have cooled on him. Maybe it will be Xabi.
Man Utd I have no clue about. Not sure they know themselves yet, I think they are still looking for the right person.
Chelsea were not intending to make a change and are completely unprepared. Their five sporting directors will no doubt struggle to come to a consensus and decide who to appoint. They have given themselves a bit of time to consider their options but I wouldn't expect the same mistake as last time and just take O'Neil from Strasbourg.
As for us, I believe Dick and Ted were keen on Iraola, but he wants to return home to the Basque country, not Spain as people keep saying. Like most Basques, he does not really consider it Spain. I think that leaves two options, firstly stick with Slot a year and hold out for Enrique next summer. Secondly, there is Xabi and Hoeness if Slot is not too unsettled in the UK to stay another year.}

Appreciate your reply, Ed. Chelsea is a funny one because now they need to pay a huge amount of money for someone who only worked for four months. I don't even know how they came to the conclusion of giving Rosenior a five-year contract.
As for us, Enrique is probably the best manager available right now, and waiting a year for him might be interesting. But that would also mean risking another season like this one, with no guarantee that we'll actually get him. He might want to take a break after PSG, or another big club could offer him a more interesting project next season. I can't stand another season of Slot football to be honest.
{Ed001's Note - no they don't, he had break clauses in his contract, it won't be anything like as much as people believe to get rid of him.}

is nobody worried about the fact that the current squad is incapable of playing an aggressive style of football? Outside of Dom and Kerkez none of them even have the engine for it never mind the ability. Not to mention half the teams made of crisps and can't even handle a season of pensionball.
If Alonso is out Hoeness would be my preference, but he'll have a rough with time of it playing heavy metal football with this lot, I hope FSG realise just how much work needs doing. A lot of transfers needed.

I love a battler, an underdog. I'll back the guy that most love to hate on.
But are we saying that coaching Hoffenheim and Stuttgart, winning a cup along the way, is the platform to dive into coaching Liverpool FC?

Ed, are you telling me that we need to stock up on tissues again over the summer if Hoeness gets the job? I don't know about you but I've got all, if not most, of the tissues I bought from last summer
