Hi Ed001,

Would love your opinion on this, if you have time.

The club really worries me at the moment, with its current direction.

We seem to be getting rid of any semblance of a leadership group at the club. Rather than phasing them out, it's nah, you can all go at the same time. Salah, Robertson and rumours of Allison as well. VVD is on the wane and looking through the current squad, there doesn't seem to be anyone who sets the standard.

Salah mentioned in his recent interview, that he was worried about standard setting and that it was time for him to move on, hinting at strife behind the scenes (implying the higher ups).

Slot constantly talks the club down. Not talking about how great we are or what we can do but more about how great other teams are (particularly PSG). This automatically shows weakness and lack of leadership from the boss, something I don't think I've ever heard from a Liverpool boss in all the years I've been supporting.

Constant rumours of days off, lack of training, breaks to ibiza, Dubai etc which then seems to result in no intensity in matches apart from a few dotted throughout the season.

Not addressing the holes in the squad, rather buying players that don't suit the system we play and then leaving us with gaps bambi on ice could still skate through.

I'm really worried that as long as Edwards, Hughes and Slot remain in charge, we are going to go backwards even further than this season and find it hard to recover.

One of the other things as well, is this supposed rumour of Isak not being fit for today's match, a supposed scoop for the unmentionable rag. Who would leak to that scum paper, should be thrown out of the club immediately if true.

Do you think there is a lot of trouble brewing and only getting worse or just a blip on a golden horizon?

{Ed001's Note - Slot fell out with most of the senior players, which is why they are going. Standards are dropping alarmingly, but it was always going to happen the moment Edwards was brought back. He is mediocrity and he surrounds himself with more like himself.}

Bwm, your post is what worries most of the fans, a return to mediocrity. We have been a shadow of ourselves this season, but for some reason certain ppl at the club think it will be all ok to persist with Slot, when the majority of Liverpool fans know this isn't going to be the case n, lets face it, we know our team better than anyone. We are sliding back down from the joys n bragging rights of what Klopp brought us, the ppl who praise Edwards n co don't seem to realise that without Klopp we'd still be similar position to the times when we had Rodgers, Hodgson etc but because Klopp got the best out of these players, they've put Edwards n co on a high pedestal for buying players n think he can do it again, but this time with Slot.

I think the whole of next season will be toxic, FSG Out protests.

03 May 2026 13:31:03
LFC8, I very much doubt that will happen. They've given us a 60k capacity stadium, new training facilities, and they spent 430 million last summer. The vast majority of football supporters could only dream of having such owners.

Be careful what you wish for. Yes, this season has been a pile of muck, but I have confidence that things will get sorted, one way or another.

I reckon the majority of supporters realise that we could have far worse owners.

"Slot fell out with most of the senior players, which is why they are going."

I knew it. I just wasn't sure but Ed has confirmed it. For Robbo to want to leave and go to the abject dumpster fire that is Spurs, just tells the story right there.

Now, AB1 is looking into leaving for Juventus. Jones may not be a senior player like the others (even tho, he has been here for 6/7 years) but for a guy who bleeds the red of Liverpool to want to go, also tells the story.

Ed01 pls, do you think there is a purge going on at the club where Edwards and co. are trying to clean house and get rid of the legends atthe club so Slot doesn't have to deal with them and the pushback they give to his ideas?

{Ed001's Note - they seem to think that they are facing a Real Madrid style player power issue, rather than a coach not doing his job.}

03 May 2026 13:50:18
Can't be serious, LFC8. Owners have been great, the management needs to change. Man United fans would cut their collective right arm off to have owners like ours.

03 May 2026 13:55:16
Rome1977! - The problem isn't the owners. They have done some daft things in their 15 years of ownership, but in reality they have been among the best owners in the league overall.
The issue is with idiots like Edwards. There are times when Klopp should have listened to others, but he was the factor that made the rest of the club look amazing.

I have no confidence this will get sorted. Until Klopp, we were mediocre for 25 years. Now he's gone, what awaits us now?

03 May 2026 13:57:40
Time will tell, Rome. I hope you're right. But it started with boos, now protests about ticket prices. I reckon if Slot stays it'll turn very sour.

The disconnect between Fan and Club is massive now, and you'd have felt that going to the game as you do.

It's already started with the Red Sox. Salah has nodded to it. It's pointing in one direction, unfortunately, and that's us slipping back into mediocrity. Klopp's not here anymore to paper the cracks.

03 May 2026 14:01:41
Ed, where is Van Dijk in all of this? Isn't the club captain supposed to help mediate the problem between the manager and senior players? Plus both are Dutch, I assume that would be a plus when problems like this happen.

{Ed001's Note - he is not a leader though, that is the problem.}

03 May 2026 14:18:44
Not sure why everyone is complaining about the clowns upstairs... The problems at LFC are the players themselves, just like so many of the Superfans have mentioned.

I mean, let's be honest, right, them players should really know better, especially when they see that they aren't training as much. It's their responsibility to keep their fitness up.

Slot should only bring in players who like to train on their own, and keep their fitness levels up.

This is the new norm... Players need to do it on their own. If they aren't up to the challenge, then goodbye.

These players, with all their high standards and expectations... blah blah blah.

Can't wait for Slot to introduce his work from home ideology on this club. He can stay in Holland whilst the players do their own training.

He doesn't even have to be on the bench for match days... Just simply manage from the comfort of his own chair at home.

03 May 2026 14:30:10
LFC8, our owners are far from perfect, don't get me wrong. We had the s*** show over furlough, which they backed down on, and, as you say, we now have the ticket price issue.

These things have a habit of resolving themselves. I certainly hope so. If we can get back to where we were, on the pitch, things will change. We both certainly hope so.

03 May 2026 14:33:57
Forget Jones. Jones wants a massive wage increase. Bleeds red lol. No one has loyalty to any one but themselves.

03 May 2026 14:43:36
JLC, I sense that your post may be laced with a touch of sarcasm. Forgive me if I'm wrong. However, your first paragraph, in relation to players, you are absolutely right, they are partly to blame. I want a change of Coach, like the majority, but most of the players need to look at themselves in the mirror, because they have let supporters down as well.

03 May 2026 14:56:56
Me? Sarcastic? You must have me confused with someone else, Rome. ?

The players are defo at fault, but modern day footballers are spoilt little brats at the best of times.

A coach's/manager's role is to keep those players in check.

We've all seen these scenarios play out before, and literally down the road at Utd.

If players are allowed to get away with crap, and, yes, they will try and push the limits, then it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Klopp, Mourinho, Fergie, Shankly, Paisley...

None of them would have allowed the players to slack off.

Most of our issues are down to Slot and his way of doing things...

Players who have allowed their standards to drop should also take a long hard look at themselves, and decide if LFC is the place for them if that is what they have allowed themselves to become.

But this is just my opinion, some idiot bloke looking in from the outside, some idiot who, like many, could only dream of the lives these spoilt brats live....

03 May 2026 15:08:53
JLC, I will let you know when you're as sarcastic as me, mate!

Our opinions aren't that much different, really. Hopefully, see you on chat later. All the best.
