I want to believe Carra, The Fields, Robbo etc. I really, really do, but there's so much noise around Slot staying from journalists and even Slot himself saying they've been talking about next season, that I just cannot shake the feeling that he's going to be allowed to stay.
Everything at the moment just points to him being given next season.
I really hope I'm wrong.

I think we'll finish top 3 at least, and win a cup or two. Lessons have been learnt and Slot is resilient. He'll get us fit and focused. He's better than Maresca and Iraola; a winner.
15 May 2026 11:29:44
I don't believe any of the media's nonsense at the moment. I don't see how he can stay. He'll be gone at the end of the season.
15 May 2026 11:38:16
I'm with you, Salah. I don't see how he can stay, I think he knows it as well.
15 May 2026 11:38:51
It's not media nonsense, Salah. Listening to his press conference yesterday, all points to him staying. Either that or he's a brilliant actor. I said yesterday, we're all, unfortunately, going to have to suck it up or go and find another hobby.
Hope you're well, mate, and your plans to move to Italy are progressing.
15 May 2026 11:51:59
But what if they truly believe that he's
'the man', well, at least 'their man'?
Or if the man they want to take over is not available for 12 months?
Far too many variables, options, and unknowns to make any credible assumptions
except an 'I think................ just because it doesn't pass the eye test!'

How can anyone at the club worth their footballing salt, integrity, know how, look at this season and believe Slot is the guy to take us forward? Surely he's gone. If we win tonight... maybe they announce next week? Anfield can then politely clap him off the pitch, thanks for the memories... bring on next season!
15 May 2026 11:56:56
I want to believe also, but I do think he's going to stay, unfortunately. I just hope if he does stay, he can turn it around, but it's going to have to be night and day different from the first game next season. Or the first bad performance, and we're going to go through this all over again.
With likely less options to replace.

Slot will just take more time off next season as he will be working his notice. The fitness level will drop further.
15 May 2026 12:20:47
"Lessons have been learnt and Slot is resilient."
Are you sure, Arne, or should I say, your highness?
@Rome, I'm with Salah on this one. Slot is just talking tough, just like any crap manager under pressure and staring down the sack would do. He is being evasive and doesn't even say anything concrete either.
So Slot is saying that he is "so well backed" yet when he needed players in Jan, he got nothing despite both Guehi and Semenyo being ready to come.
He is so "backed" yet the club will not come out outright and back him for next season with an official statement nor have any contract extension news? Yeah, okay, Arne.
Sure, people can believe whatever they want for diff. reasons like copium, resignation, exasperation, good vibes etc. All I'm saying is that you should focus more on what the club is not saying/doing when "backing" Slot and wait for things to shake out.
Even then, if they were gonna sack him, they still wouldn't say that in public either cos CL is not secured yet.
15 May 2026 13:03:54
"Lessons have been learnt."
No, they haven't.
Slot has done 90% of the same same over and over again. The guy's as stubborn as a mule. He could go the whole of next season implementing the same tactics and while blaming the corners or the wind.
FSG are total muppets if they keep the 3 stooges in charge next season.
15 May 2026 13:17:45
Surely Slot has been told not to let the cat out of the bag, as Liverpool are yet to qualify for the Champions League. He didn't sound totally convincing yesterday during his presser. We should all wait and see how this plays out, starting with this evening...
15 May 2026 13:22:09
Pointless falling out over it we all know he is ( slot) way out of his depth here so is Hughes. it could be bit of brinkmanship. Klopp and whoever else was at the club last time Edwards was here made him look good I think this will ultimately land on FSG's desk to bullet them.

Salah and Stone, I totally understand you guys want him gone. And understand your reasons. But both of you guys say you dont see how he can stay. He has literally had the same year this year after winning a league as Pep did last year, albeit Pep went further in the FA Cup and Slot went further in the league.
I've said he'd go in May a while now, now im not as sure, but he got Champions Lge football and in nearly every case this is all these owners care about. Keeping that lovely money rolling in.
15 May 2026 15:21:04
Slot hasn’t literally had the same year as Pep.
City finished with over 70 points and comfortably made top four. The maximum amount of points we can achieve is 65, which would just about have made the UEFA Cup places last season.
We’re well and truly in limp home mode now, and it’s still very possible that we may miss out on the Champions League given our truly horrific form.
This season is very much like Brendan Rodgers in 14/15. And we all know what happened next after that.
15 May 2026 15:39:46
Comfortably made top 4? With two games to go, he still hadn't guaranteed top 5.
