No updates again, as far as I know my source has been cut off.

As stated in September, Pep will leave City. I’m sure I saw someone leak them recording a part of his farewell video - but importantly don’t expect their coach hunt will affect ours though - Maresca appears to be the name coming up there.

Who would everyone like to see come in coach-wise?

Maybe just put a name and then, like, if that name already has a reply - be great to see the consensus here.

{Ed001's Note - that leaked video from City was for Silva mate.}

If Pep is leaving City then he's my new choice to take over.

In seriousness, the dream ones would be Klopp's return, Pep or Enrique, but they are not going to happen.

I have no idea on Hoeness and I don't think I've ever watched a Bournemouth game that hasn't been against us.

With how this season has gone, I'd lean towards Iraola only because he knows the league and isn't an unknown quantity in the PL.

But again, as someone pointed out the other day, managers' records of stepping up from mid-table clubs to the big clubs in this league isn't great.

The only thing I know is I'm done with Slot and his style and even the players' attitudes under Slot. I've offloaded all available tickets since the Spurs game in March and haven't been to Anfield since.

Enrique

Any other name, unless it's someone like Zodane, Simeone, Ancelotti, simply doesn't have the experience to take the role. And those names aren't necessarily a fit anyways.

All the other linked names aren't mere projects.

I personally wouldn't mind Don Carlo. I never quite liked Zidane's man management nor his tactics. Simeone, tbf, has changed his tactics recently, but I think our fans would tire of him. I respect the work he did at Atletico, though.

Ed, you know why City didn't consider Iraola if Pep decide to leave? I think he would be perfect for them.

{Ed001's Note - what makes you think they haven't considered him? Iraola is purely a coach, Pep has control of transfers, it would be a big change there to move over.}

Iraola with Thiago as his assistant.

Dream Spanish team for me.

Attacking intensive tactics from Iraola.
Technical brilliance and big club experience from Thiago. Thiago will be well regarded by the players, and he will know a few of the young guns.

There are so many managers being linked right now. Iraola and Hoeness would represent an acceptance that this is a long-term rebuilding project. Whereas the links to the likes of Xavi, Conte and Enrique would indicate the owners want a manager who's proven they can win titles at the highest level quickly without needing years to rebuild.

I honestly don't know who I want now. Hoeness was the one I always thought could have a Klopp-level impact. But the links to Xavi, Conte and Enrique in particular have turned my head, I think. I think all 3 of them would win the league with us at least once if we gave them a 3-year deal. I said last summer that this squad was top tier and I still believe that; we just need a coach who will actually make our players work hard. All 3 of them win titles because, on top of being tactically astute, they have absolutely no time for lazy players who won't pull their weight defensively.

Enrique is probably the dream, but Xavi and Conte are both also top coaches/managers. Anybody saying otherwise is just trying to play devil's advocate or over-analyse their careers. Xavi at Barca finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd during a shocking period for them financially where players weren't even getting paid and things could easily have fallen off a cliff. Conte has 6 top 5 European league titles at 4 different clubs including one of the best title winning sides in Premier League history, with his Chelsea side that reached a staggering 93 points.

I still think Slot is going to stay. But if he does leave I suppose my choices (in order) would be:
1. Enrique
2. Conte
3. Xavi
4. Hoeness
5. Iraola.

Just purely because I don't see his name being mentioned by media as possible successor to Pep. All I see is Maresca, Alonso before being Chelsea's new manager and Enrique at some point.

That's my bad Ed. I thought when Txiki is City's DoF, he is the one who decide everything. And that would continue to their current DoF. I thought Pep might have some say on who they buy but the DoF is the one ultimately decided their decision.
