So, as I understand it, if Villa finish fourth, 6th place goes to the EL. If they finish 5th, 6th place goes to the CL. If that's the case, really hoping we beat Brentford and Villa lose at City, which I think they will.
I don't think the players will be sober by Sunday; I wouldn't be. Eds can u confirm please? Brighton could also sneak 6th ahead of Bournemouth.

No, Villa have to finish 6th, then the top 6 go to Champions League.

Scratch my earlier reply, Red_Flyer69 is correct. Sorry, my mistake.

I don't think the Ed's will be able to confirm how sober the Villa players will be on Sunday.

Yeah would love for one of Brighton / Bournemouth to make CL. They'd deserve it, which seems an ironic statement to make given the narrative is that we don't deserve CL but we're above them.....hmmm, that's a thinker lol.

Nice one Arnie. Grammar, etc. was never my strong suit. ?? I can, however, ask for 2 beers in about 5 languages, which I consider far more practical.

Agreed, Faith. I think the difference is expectation.

So, in theory, had Villa lost to us last week, and results go the right way on the final weekend, we could have had 6 English teams in the Champions League?
Does anybody else think it's time the competition was renamed?
Perhaps they could call it the
"Cup for random teams from various leagues around Europe most of whom are in it for the money as they don't possibly have a realistic chance of winning it"
Or the "Money Cup".

If we win and Villa lose at the weekend, then whoever is in 6th will get Champions League. Simples. (We'll be level with Villa but better goal difference, amazingly.)

"Money Cup" is a great shout, WDW.
