It was mentioned recently that I've changed from a positive poster to a negative poster and it got me thinking.
It is true that this season has broken me.
There's been seasons in the past even under Rogers for example that we lost our way but I've never despised a way of playing and performances like I've watched this season. I gave benefit of doubt for a few months to Slot but the fact he could not do anything to improve the issues made it clear he was the issue. And it was happening at the back end of last season too even before the title was wrapped up.
I just cannot get my head around the unbelievable lack of intensity and fitness in every faucet of the game.
Defending, attack, everything. Slot delivered a title but he has become my most hated Liverpool manager of all time. Just cannot stand it any longer and cannot believe we have to start with him and his staff next season.
I want to be a positive poster again but I believe that will only happen once Slot is gone or if he somehow changes every inch of his style to show us something well and truly, unequivocally and completely different next season. Reality is he needs to go as I can't see that happening.
Once that happens, I will clean the dust off the game by game winning bus and I jump back on the positivity mantra.

I watched a season review on YouTube by Alex Malone Ynwareds, and it makes it more depressing and unbelievable that he's still in a job and likely to be giving funds to lead us into next season.

I'm with you, Davey. Slot's idea of football is not mine.
The fact that he talks about wingers, injuries and set pieces, rather than our terrible out of possession game, terrible fitness and slow passing approach, tells me that he's seeing something completely different to us.

With FSG's CEO of football Michael Edwards responsible for how funds are allocated and sporting director Hughes tasked with negotiating deals, criticism regarding recruitment can't be placed at Slot's door.

It's still 'an entertainment business,'
Turns out, it doesn't have to be entertaining!

I can't stand him. I'm not even arsed if I watch us anymore, and for that reason alone I will never like him. Spoilt the fun I used to get out the game, even when Utd was top dogs with Chelsea and Arsenal. I always went into the season hopeful, expecting to get something out of it, not now tho, he's absolutely extinguished all momentum built up under Klopp.
I'm not a glory hunter, I don't mind getting beat, just make us feel we were unlucky to get beat.

You can only comment on what you see, mate.

In making his team harder to beat, Slot also made them harder to watch. Their build-up play was far too slow and predictable. With the brand of football so stale, they rightly stood accused of being a team lacking identity.
The absence of a clinical edge at one end and being so porous at the other proved a toxic combination.
Liverpool failed to win at home against any of the newly promoted sides for the first time since 1980-81. It was the first season both Manchester clubs had completed a league double over Liverpool since 1912-13.

Well said, Davey, as usual.
Except for the faucet comment. Do we have water pressure problems too?
No, seriously, I'm surprised people have bailed out on our gold standard ITKs and have resigned themselves to Slot staying. Iraola's future has still not been resolved.

Davey, you are not the only one in that boat, I can assure you. I have seen many comments from LFC fans saying that should Slot be kept for next season, they will take up other ventures in order to find entertainment somewhere else. One even said that they have to do that cos of their mental health, cos watching LFC will no longer provide the release it normally used to give, win, lose or draw. And frankly, I am one of such people, as I have mentioned on here before.
No need to beat yourself over any of that, mate. You are only refusing to deny what your eyes have seen over the past 12 months re: the way we play under Slot. 18 months if you go back to the final 3rd of last season. It is what it is.
There was a time where I couldn't wait to watch LFC play cos I knew we would give our best and play a style of football that was entertaining and would give us a chance at a result. Whereas late last season, if I had to miss a game due to family engagements and plans, I wouldn't be arsed cos I knew what was coming. So I wouldn't even try to negotiate myself out of the engagements. Away at City in the FA Cup was a big example.
If Slot stays like you, the dust will clear and we can move forward with some new energy and hope that things will change. Keeping him will do none of this, hence I will look for other options if need be. The club controls these outcomes. I control how I react to them.

I think the majority thinks the same as you, Davey.
28 May 2026 14:05:50
It is just that it is all disjointed and uninspiring to watch, is the fact that it also feels like the players are not enjoying it and giving their all. It is just devoid of anything, completely soulless. I usually want to watch every game this season. I cannot watch it with him, he annoys me or sends me to sleep.

Positive or negative, we react in accordance with what's going on. I wouldn't mind what anybody says about the tone of your posts. Post whatever you like, so long as it's not nudes.

Chewy, seriously, was that last part necessary? Lol.
