If Alvarez leaves, I can see Atletico coming in for Macca. Personally, if they offered 50m I'd sell. Bournemouth have apparently said a deal closer to £60m for Scott would be accepted. Perhaps his reluctance to sign a new deal means they want to cash in.

Palestra spent all of last season playing in a 3421 as a rwb. Think this is why Chelsea have come in for him. Fits Alonso's system. Personally don't see us spending £45m plus on a RB when we have two. Ratiu has a £21.8m buyout and we are trying to get him for less around the £18m mark.

KP, I would sell Macca for anything over £30m. We signed him for £45m, and his value is only dropping.

If he looks good in the World Cup, which he is, then 50 million is achievable, hopefully.

24 Jun 2026 07:56:45
Todd, his value isn't dropping. He had a poor season under an awful manager like 99% of the squad. The rest of the footballing world doesn't think he suddenly turns bad overnight. He has value.

Fridge Klippers, I hope you're right. To me now, it looks like his legs have gone, and he was having to use shiphousery to get through games. Obviously I hope I am wrong. It would be great if we could get decent money for him, or, better yet, he returns to form.

I just think it is unrealistic to expect to get back more than we paid, and if he is considered surplus to requirements, no point pricing him out of a move. Of course I want to get maximum amount, but it is better to move players on rather than miss out on sales through greed.

Wasn't Maccas release clause £35m?

24 Jun 2026 09:10:47
@Frode, and you can apply that to the majority of the players, as well, including those Wirtz and Isak, who people want sold after this same season where they were playing/struggling badly under this same manager.

Now, as for Macca, I don't know if he can cope with the high press system cos he lacks the mobility and athleticism to play that type of football, so if he can't cope, then we should just let him go, imo.

24 Jun 2026 09:19:21
Macca is just a half arsed midfielder. He should be at the top of the Out list. Plenty of much better players available to replace him with. Good riddance.

24 Jun 2026 09:44:53
If you were watching this World Cup as a neutral, a few of our players would catch the eye. Particularly at the level of fees being quoted, they represent decent value.

24 Jun 2026 09:48:54
1jj - 35m basic with add ons that'd potentially push it to 60m iirc.

I'd assume at least some of those add ons have been triggered, given he plays 90% of our games and we won the PL.

Maccas issue is that he has played so many minutes for club and country that his legs have gone. He needs a slower league. Atletico is the ideal solution imo.

24 Jun 2026 10:19:23
I would sell Macca for around 43ish million (which is near 50 million euros). I think that it is his price, and I can picture him with Atletico more than with Real Madrid. It just seems their type of player.

Hi Harry, you couldn't stay away could you?!

BTW, Fridge Clippers. ??

24 Jun 2026 13:08:09
He will go for over and above what we paid for him. Pretty certain about that, if he is sold mind you.

Slot isn't an awful manager.
