Cape Verdi and the World Cup minnows, Scotland, I got in my sweepstake.
Both are doing well. I thought Scotland were unlucky last night. If Brazil don't score 3 goals, they draw that.

Fully agree with that, JK. And if all of the Brazilians were Scottish and the Scottish were Brazilian, they could even have won 3-0.

You said it, JLC. Super happy for SA to make the next round for the first time in their history. Hoping that Cape Vert, DRC, Algeria, and the Ivory Coast can make it cos Morocco and Ghana are pretty much already in.

I was disappointed that Korea couldn't score an equaliser. It makes it more tough for Scotland to go through. ?

It was a superb performance from South Africa. They completely outmuscled South Korea in every single contested duel, and forced them out wide every time, making them send endless pointless crosses into the box. Their number 10 and forwards, breaking from deep positions to carry the ball all the way up the field, were extremely impressive with their running power too.
I support the Korean team the same way I support all Asian teams, but it was an extremely unimaginative and quite 'European' performance from them in terms of being a sterile, possession-based, risk-averse approach to football.
Granted, they couldn't go gung ho for it because they risked being dumped out of the competition altogether if they don't make it in the top 8 number 3 teams, but still, very disappointing.

PB, for someone who watches AFCON's like I do, that's SA's strength as in, their defence. They are physical, athletic, and can match any team on these things. Korea never had a chance once SA scored. It was a wrap.
