If rumours are true and PSG are looking somewhat north of £120m for Barcola, I think we need to listen to John Power and walk away, walk away, walk away.

£120m+, for a player that can't get a game at his current club, and thus won't sign a new contract.... Bit steep that. He's another LW though, so will Rio be moved? Munoz? Gakpo? Can't see us paying £mega and not playing him in his preferred position. Does that then upset the Rio Apple cart. Swerve this one, I reckon.

Yep. Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole for that kind of money.

PSG won't be getting £120m for a contract rebel who wants to leave and only has 2 years left on his current deal. My guess would be somewhere between 80-100m euros, which is way below £120m.

If they want more than that, then, much like the Diomande deal, we'll probably just walk away. There are other alternatives we've looked at, like Said El Mala, Yankuba Minteh, Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

After last summer bit us on the backside, I simply cannot see us spending over £100m on a single player, so you can rule out Rayan for sure. There simply is no value in the market at that price, unless you're talking about Kvaratskhelia or Yamal.

That's way too much, alright. We need to get back to reasonable fees.

Wouldn't pay a penny over 80m. Get Mika Godts for half that.

I'm not the biggest fan of Barcola, but at the right price and if Cody is leaving then we can consider. I don't get the logic of pivoting to him instead of Diomande, though. Barcola isn't a right-sided winger, and we need a right winger.

If Barcola played semi-regularly on the right, I could countenance it, but he has barely played on the right in his career, and doesn't seem especially productive the 20-30 times he has played there.

Doesn't rule Rayan out though. His £130m release clause doesn't take effect until Jan, worth trying our hand, 75/80m for player who has 6 months prem experience that they paid 25m for. His form could dip, injury, may never be worth his buyout, he could just as easy be worth every penny of that 130m in Jan....

But until we put it on their toes we'll never know. Quick win for them..... Also I am not blind to the fact we'd be paying 75/80m for a kid with 6 months prem experience, which is ludicrous.

Madrid will be in his ear soon, and he could join them on a free in 2 years' time, maybe, along with Szob, who seems to be losing interest in signing a new contract with us.

30 Jun 2026 13:20:29
No way that number is accurate. He's probably worth £65m in today's market with 2 years left in his contract.

We'd still need a RW though. Barcola is not that.

Have you guys seen Rayan in the 4 games for Brazil? Not overwhelming in my opinion. The speed is not super fast, as is being said, and he doesn't really take on players one on one.

But then, I didn't see a single Bournemouth game last season so you guys probably have a more accurate idea. I don't see 130 Million anywhere here. Not even 100 M.

ArAy, I was about to post the same thing. He has looked average and super inconsistent; in the same match he can do something amazing then do nothing else for 60 minutes! Hard pass, he needs a lot more experience to sign for a bigger club. He is also not a speed merchant by any stretch of the imagination either, we need pace!
