Mo would have murdered this Argentina team in his prime. Still not doing bad though!

Let down by poor tactics on the last 15mins.

And the fact FIFA want to keep Messi in the World Cup.

I actually think Mo not being at his prime helped Egypt, cos if they'd have just kept passing the ball to peak Mo, and assuming he'd dance pass three Argentine defenders, all trying to foul him and put the ball in the net.

Non-prime Mo (also carrying a minor injury since the 2nd group match, don't forget) can't do that, so more of the Egyptian players were having to step up.

Mo still provided two pieces of quality, resulting in the disallowed Egypt goal and their 2nd.

Would he? Pretty sure he has never really delivered for Egypt even during his prime.

I thought Mo had a very good WC as more of a facilitator than the spearhead of the actual attack.

I think, as he got older and lost his pace, Mo should have been moved into more of a creative, goal-scoring 10 role, similar to Ronaldonho - he is actually a very good passer and crosser, he's got good vision and can spot space, and it's a position that relies more on game-reading and controlling space than pace, like his role as a winger.

You could say the same thing about Messi.

Mo in his prime and this Egypt team
Vs
Messi in his prime and this Argentina team.

I know who my money is on, sorry Mo.

I agree, Ron.

I hate this international nonsense. Roll on the new season.
