Eds having discussion about Messi. I am of the opinion he is a good player but has played in sides that are built to let him wander around. And then score the winning goal etc
Also i said that he isn't a nice person as well. Just wondering if that is true.

Ably helped by Thomas Tuchel. We spent 70 minutes getting pressure on Messi, and then took most of the attackers off, and went to a flat back 10, and gave him all the space in the world.
It was inevitable that he would do something to get them back in the game.
You can get away with it against the likes of Mexico, but Argentina have too much quality to just allow them to have the ball unchallenged for half an hour around your penalty box.

Maradona was the greatest.
Playing on terrible pitches with heavier balls and defenders who were literally trying to scythe him down all the time, he was still a class above the current crop.
Didn't care much for Diego's character, a cheat, taking PEDs and recreationals, he was a bit of a p**** - but he was the greatest footballer I've ever seen.
Diego was born into a poor family in a very poor country whose incredible talent brought him fame and fortune. But he was exploited and used by bad influences.
