No offence there, but do you by any chance play FIFA a lot? On another note, it turns out that last summer transfers were just short of a disaster for us, bar Wirz and Eketike, the rest we should have avoided big time. Especially Frimpong and Kerkez, the first ain't a fullback and the latter is bag of nervs with worst first touch than me at 51 (no joke).
Hopefully AI will sort the mess within 2 years.
But anyone thinking of fighting for Silverware this season will have to take a chill and enjoy the process of rebuild. Hope I'm wrong, really do.

@Loko, left foot, the transfers from last season wasn't a disaster, it was the manager who was in charge of them that was the disaster... They were the right players, just the wrong guy in charge. I believe with Iraola's style we will see a big difference.

I agree with Loko, last season's transfer budget, Kerkez n Frimpong are both not good enough. The only hope is AI can get a tune back out of Kerkez. ppl. screaming for RB but look at the LB options. I was so excited to see Isak n Wirtz n both of them have got a huge season in front of them after last season's disappointment.

Where are they looking now - again, at the top table for wingers (admittedly overpriced and limited, but not their fault) - ok, this is taking time, but back in the real world of PSG-led domino effects, and professional deal making, c'est la vie.

If you can only remember last summer then you need to look in the mirror for the one with the short memory. We have had 1 good window since FSG have been here and that was 23/24.
Every single season they get criticised for not spending enough money, and the only season they do, they didn't address the main issues properly.
I thought Slot wasn't good enough, but he was also dealt a bad hand... He went into last season wanting a centre back to finally replace Matip but the Guehi situation happened. Then he was in need of a winger and CF and instead he was given 2 Centre Forwards and a 10, all too expensive to leave on the bench, and told to make it work. He was given a wingback instead of a right back to replace "the best RB in the world", who at the time people only wanted because he seemed like a nice lad.
FSG are great at running a business, but when it comes to football decisions they're clowns, and they will never learn. People on other threads are rightly saying give Iraola time, but I think the majority would have also taken Alonso in January, knowing the World Cup was going to be a stumbling block for any manager change over the summer.
I hope it all works out in the long term and I'm happy with the manager we ended up with, but I've seen it all before with FSG and I don't see them magically starting to make good decisions all of a sudden. Hopefully Iraola is as good at papering over the cracks as Klopp was.

Very optimistic to think we will sign all these positions, it's quite shocking how weak our squad depth is, and no movements apart from Barcola are happening atm. Worrying times for me. We need some players or we are setting Iraola up to fail. ?

FSG don't choose the players to buy, nor are they involved in the negotiations. They employ people to do that. So, criticism should be directed at the sporting director for all our failed transfer windows.
We also don't spend FSG's money for players or our operating costs. We generate our own income and use that for our own needs, including new players. The criticism you can raise against FSG is that they don't put in their money into the club, but on the positive, they also don't take money out of the club to put into their pockets.
The club spends what it raises, so if we don't manage to spend much on players, we need to see where the money went to. And I believe we spent a fortune on wages for players like Ox, Phillips, and Keita, who didn't play much for us. It was only after they left did we have more breathing space and could spend more for incoming players.

Drac, the fact that you have to repeat on this same forum (despite all the endless discussions on how FSG operate financially) how FSG run the club financially is what I find embarrassing.
Take a day off, BJ. Your rant has no basis in reality and you going after FSG just proves you don't know how the club is run financially esp. when it comes to transfers.
Hence, calling them clowns because they aren't doing what you want, is based on a position of ignorance about how LFC is run. Sad for you.

FSG set the parameters and outline the headroom they want against FFP or the latest iteration. They'll also have a limit on debt which we will have to work within to help fund capital outlay. Any arms length investors would do the same tbf.
The fact we've wasted some wage headroom in the past on players like Chiesa has been alleviated a bit by getting Mo off the books.
If Cody's reported wage is correct, we probably need to free that up as well. Not sure what our projected turnover is, but I would have thought we could afford a few extra mid to high earners even after Barcola, although it may depend on whether we re-sign VVD as he's currently one of, if not the, top earner.

@Mytton, are you sure about the club's finances? Did you take away the player sales we made last summer from the money we spent? We didn't spend anywhere near the fabled half a billion if you subtract what we recouped in sales.
It's also worth noting that the club indicated that it would take a number of transfer windows to transition the squad.
Perhaps, we still have a couple of bob squirrelled away for an additional couple of players and we will receive payments for the players rest we may sell.
I believe that we are within PSR requirements and we will have the CL revenue streams coming in. I think it's likely that the club knows what it's doing.
