Looks as though a few may have jumped the gun on the Barcola fee being agreed. Sounds as if there’s still a hefty gap in valuations between Liverpool and PSG according to Fabrizio Romano and others. Think this one might drag out for a few weeks, but in the meantime we really need to get a move on with other deals.
Defence is looking very weak in numbers and the less said about some of our current midfield options the better.

Fab and other journalists are days behind what actually happens imo. I don’t think it’s linear.
I.e., the big boys will have discussions and it’s not until it works its way down the chain that things actually leak and get to the Journos. The whole, prepare to bid, bid submission talk is just a way to make it easier to digest for the masses.

Robbo says it's as good as done. I trust Robbo over "rent-a-tweet" any day. He may have some connections on the mainland, but he's got no links at Anfield.

If still looking for a centre half, what happened to that player from Sporting Lisbon? I believe Ignacio made. Still worth a look at or what?

@Hunter64, Goncalo Ignacio is one of those players that we used to be linked with a lot under Klopp in his later years. He's not developed particularly well, so I don't think he would be on the list. More of a left side centre back as well.
I think we will be targeting a RCB / RB hybrid, or hopefully a RB and utility centre back.
Gomez can't be relied upon, and Bradley isn't good enough to be a starter even when he returns from injury. Joel Ordonez from Club Brugge, Acheampong from Chelsea and Konsa are probably the ones we'll look at for CB/RB hybrid I would imagine.

Last night proved that central defence (Zabarnyi) midfield strengthening is needed more than a well over priced and over hyped winger. You only break transfer records for prolific goalscorers!
Scoring goals is not the problem, it's shipping them that is. Only friendlies, but still 7 scored, six conceded. Last night was Andoni's first welcome party for ale house football, big boot, park the bus, whatever you want to call it.
The two young rookie centre halves last night were absolutely bullied by Calvert-Lewin and Harry Wilson in the second half. One of the biggest tricks in the book was used by the Leeds manager at half time. After getting mauled in the first half, I timed it at circa eight minutes.
The Liverpool players were waiting on the pitch for the Leeds players to leave the dressing room. Often used in the PL, it slows ye down mentally for one, takes the heat off, etc.
All the young centre backs on the tour will be exceptional defenders in the future. Last night will do them more good than bad. Jacquet and Leoni have theirs to come in the PL. This is tough, physical football in the PL. Another reason not to sign Barcola, I've seen bigger knots in a cotton thread than his legs, he will get butchered, just ask Rio. Rayan is the complete opposite, he could go in against a heavyweight boxer!

Indeed, Chewy. Robb o has said the exact opposite.
Let's see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Fabrizio is just regurgitating what he is being fed, which is the message that PSG want out in the open.
I'll take Robbo's word over Romano's.

JLC, I'll take "Mr. Fake News" himself Donald Dup's word over Fabrizio's.

"You only break transfer records for prolific goalscorers."
We broke the record for Alison and Vvd at that time. I don't think we did too bad with them.

The money paid for Ali and Vvd were records for their particular position, not for being a transfer record per se.
