I for one will be very happy when the transfer window shuts, and we can return to some normality. The modern day frenzy of misinformation, fuelled by attention-hungry losers on social media etc, makes it difficult to actually be calm and enjoy it now, and this site has sadly been infected by that somewhat this year. There isn't a single person who knows exactly what's happening behind the scenes, so to pretend that we do, and make up fake scenarios which then make us angry, is a shortcut to misery and stress.
Everyone needs to chill, what will be will be, no amount of angry typing on a website will change that. In a post-truth world, it's ever more important to zone it all out and relax.

Andoni has also said he'll be happy when the window shuts.
He doesn't like August for this reason and he'll be happy to sit down on Sept 2nd and know who/what he has to work with.

I get you, but it is just so frustrating. We've gone from champions, to a non-entity in the space of 18 months. And the reality is that we have fallen so far so quick that it could take us an age to get back there. You saw what terrible recruitment did to United and nearly 15 years later for them and they're nowhere near it.
It's hard to get to the top, and if we don't stop the rot now, it could take us just as long to get back there. I know it might sound a bit dramatic but the next few days could be some of the most important in our recent history.

We could end up playing non-league football, the club could be run into the ground, we could go bankrupt, or the opposite could happen, we could be champions of England and Europe, but either way, moaning about perceived problems (a lot of which are invented by people who know nothing about what's actually going on) will not change it one iota.
All it will do is lead to an increased risk of a heart attack for you. Let all the nonsense pass you by.

Hughes is about to leave. We have Andoni, and you can see signs of improvement in how we play.
It's a transition season. Let's enjoy the ride, aim for 4th, and hopefully the new SD will plug the gaps over the next year.
Things could be much worse. People are acting like the club is on the verge of folding, right now our situation is nowhere near as bad as when we had Roy Hodgson and were about to fold if FSG didn't bail us out.

Let's just see how it goes. We have some quality players that have had time together now, and if fitness sustains, we will be fine, and I don't doubt we will be challenging for trophies. Adding Barcola is a great thing, and will give current players another outlet to feed and be fed from.
AI, in my opinion, is one of the best coaches around, and will add another percentage of quality to the squad.
As long as all the players give their all, I don't foresee huge issues.
If any further additions do happen before tomorrow, then I can only see that as a positive too.
I know it's only two games in, but look at Spurs, they are adding adding and adding, but that doesn't guarantee success!

@LiverpoolFC8 correct, to a point. It's a much more interesting website than just transfers, and I've been visiting daily for longer than I care to remember. I'm just saying, for me, all the negativity this summer, and all the nonsense spouted by people who claim to be sitting in on all our dealings, is exhausting, and I'll be glad when it's done.
I miss the late, great ED02 and his swift shutting down of such nonsense.

Taurus, this has always been my beef with reactionaries and rage baiters on here and within our fan base, as a whole. And, if you ask them this question, you will get this: "I know it will take time and I back Iraola but...". And then the hyperbolic, OTT comments follow.
So, if you know it will take time, then why are you being so OTT about things not being right so quickly. Do such people know how contradictory they sound? I guess not.
Like I have always said, if you are too impatient to get thru this period and want things to be done as quickly as a microwave warms/cooks your food, then that is totally on you.
None of that is Iraola's problem.

Depends if you get upset by other people's opinions or not. For me it's just all part of football discussion which is why I personally spend time on this site.
I think there are quite a few posters results focused rather than process focused.
You can only affect the process and then hope the results follow.
But match days, I think there will always be an analysis of the result/performance on that day. Just to chat it out and what the thoughts were on it. Or have a moan.
But the process can still be going in the right direction despite a poor performance. Only Iraola truly could answer if aspects of his system went better yesterday. I suspect one or two things did. But there are still very evident teething problems.
Personally I'm very bright about the future despite transfers.
If we mess up the latter part of the window, I see it as an opportunity for Iraola to work with what he has and get a better assessment of where to go after a year of analysis. His proven track record of improving players gives me that comfort.
But I was very much a pro-Iraola guy. My first choice outside of the unrealistic Enrique option.
I can certainly understand someone who was not in favour of Iraola as our choice, being a little more pessimistic now and perhaps venting a bit more.
But it's all discussion on where we think we are at and where we might be heading. Site would be very quiet if we all just back. ?
I suspect you are a chill customer. And I respect that also. I certainly think it's a good way to live life.
