Letting J Quansah go was a blunder. It's basically the same kind of mistake as Chelsea letting KDB or Palmer go.
The lad is already doing really well in the Bundesliga, and Tuchel clearly trusts him enough to throw him straight into the mix.
If Quansah keeps developing like this, Liverpool could seriously end up regretting letting him leave.

They can always exercise the first refusal buy back clause.
04 Oct 2026 17:10:22
So you're basically saying Quansah is the defender equivalent of Kevin De Bruyne?
04 Oct 2026 17:12:38
Maybe he has found his level in Bundesliga. Besides, I think we have enough good centre backs at the moment. Who is he going to bench?

I'm more than happy my faith in Leoni, Jacquet, Ndukwe, Aurajo and Ndiye. I don't think he'd get a look in to be honest.
{Ed666's Note - Quansah is the perfect example of a footballer who has a limited skills at his profession but has got to the pinnacle through hard work and a let’s face it luck. Would I have him back at Liverpool absolutely not but I wish him all the best and hope has a stellar career.

I guess OP was on a wound up. I wouldn't drop Jacquet for Quansah. Leoni looks like a decent prospect too. I mean he was playing first team footie for Parma before we got him and he showed great signs in the few mins he played vs Southampton.
Araujo is looking reborn, the exact opposite of the player Barca fans made jest of the club for getting. Quansah was not good enough for us and we have improved the position he should be plying imho. He has my blessing but please let's move on.
{Ed666's Note - I was telling the Ed’s 001, Ed’s 025 and Seamus in the podcasts for ages we need to sign Jacquet. Way before most people had heard of him and I’m so glad that not only did we buy him that’s he playing the way he is. The guy will be a top 3 CB for the next 6-8 years (barring injury). Hes only 21 and will get exponentially better. The comparison between him and Quansah is like night and day.

Not comparing the players, I'm comparing the potential regret. History has a funny way of repeating itself. ?.

Wish Quansah all the best. He could have played a squad role for us I believe but that's about it. I reckon he will get a big move at some point though simply due to being young and English, but I can't see him ever being a starting CB for a top team competing for the highest honours.
He'll have a good career though and fair play to him for that.
04 Oct 2026 20:05:40
Quansah was absolutely gash, he's no where near our level.
04 Oct 2026 22:57:44
You have to ask yourself, if he'd never been a Liverpool player would we be clambering for us to sign him? Would he even be mentioned in relation to Liverpool?
The answer is an emphatic no.
I wish him all the best and he could've been a decent squad player for us but he's certainly no Kevin de Bruyne.
04 Oct 2026 23:33:30
Moving him on certainly seemed premature, even if we did secure Guehi, with our history and issues with the CB position, keeping him around would serve us well, but he's getting invaluable experience that he likely wouldn't have got with us.

Quansah isn't good enough. He looked ok playing in a pointless international against a team who - on the evidence of their last game - would struggle in the Championsip. @666 has it right, hard work, luck and limited talent.
05 Oct 2026 00:42:56
I thought it was decent business, at the time.
I still think the same but I don't usually watch England or Leverkusen.

"The comparison between him and Quansah is like night and day."
The comparison shouldn't even exist even tho, the OP has clarified his stance. Credit to him as that helps with the debate.
Quansah is nowhere near Jacquet and even though I supported Quansah and thought he could be good, he simply was found out to not be at the level and the CB's we have now currently playing, are better than him. So in that situation, might as well let him go so he can flourish somewhere else.

Not sure why Quansah's name keeps coming up. He lacks aggression in his game. In which case, why would we want him back?
