Question for the Eds, Carra, The Fields etc.
1) Seen a few reports that club are considering selling Nyoni (who i thought was regarded as a bright young prospect)
Is this true?
If so it's another thing on the list that worries me.
seems we are not only losing our identity in our playing style, but the club as a whole seems to be shifting ethos.
{Ed001's Note - actually I think it was him considering his future, hence why he is getting on the pitch now to keep him.}

I think karlos as regards our young players of what I've seen, which is not an awful lot, the only young lad that I think will have a really good chance of making it with us is ngumoha.
Danns I thought had real shot at it but he has missed so much football threw injuries I don't think he will now.
Nyoni looks a tidy player but v similar to what we have in midfield, not the physical presence we need . As for others I don't think they good enough but that only my opinion on a v limited viewing of them.

It’s clear from slots treatment of young players he’s not a long term Liverpool manager even if he brings it back this season.
Watching Tyler Morton now thrive at Lyon having been shunned by slot. Rio only be put on the pitch in the most desperate situations. Nyoni virtually ignored when he’s perfectly good enough to get regular minutes at end of matches.
There’s something very unlikeable about Slots treatment of players who aren’t quite of the required level, whether past it or developing. Klopp knew the value of these guys and kept a reasonably happy roster of players. I just can’t see us being able to convince young players with options to join the club when Slots can’t manage a squad.

We need a new manager . I wanted slot to be the one but he’s not he’s monotone when he speaks and his football is monotone . Theirs nothing their its slow boring and predictable and we are waiting on moments of magic and mistakes to win games .
We start losing our best potential because he won’t change and rotate etc theirs only 1 thing to do . Let him see out this season (unless it goes wrong again ) and then get in a manager that wants to play fast attacking football but with discipline.

He really doesn't give chances to youth players. I wish it changes sooner rather than later. Nyoni seems like a very good prospect but we will never know how he is until he gets more game time. The culture that Klopp built over the years is receding slowly but surely. There's nothing more exciting than young players breaking through.

C'mon lads, are we really going to start slating Slot for not using ķids ahead of experienced BETTER options now? i like Nyoni but im not sure whether he's good enough. Ngumoha looks like he WILL be but again is still very lightweight for this league.
if Rio had been coming on lately it would have been instead of Chiesa and then fans would have slated Slot for humiliated on Euro winner in favour of a child.
29 Dec 2025 14:55:07
We are Florian. You can’t say Nyoni isn’t good enough when he isn’t playing. What I can tell you is Slot isn’t good enough and is now on borrowed time.
29 Dec 2025 15:12:25
Rio is 17 years old, I agree that maybe he should get slightly more time than he has received, but even Klopp wouldn't have put a kid in unless we were cruising with 10 minutes left on the clock. How much time do you realistically think a 17 year old should receive, how much time do you think he expects to receive, and as much as folks slate Gakpo on here, do you think he could have improved on the output of Gakpo if he was given the same minutes? I very much think not on the second question.
29 Dec 2025 15:14:01
Hasn't Ngumoah got the highest amount of minutes for a 17 y/ old in the prem so far this season?
I do agree though, I wish slot gave more minutes to youngsters in general, being a fan of football manager I've got a lot of love for allowing youngsters to flourish to potentially become a wonderkid.
I think if we had a better start to the season (if Konate didn't turn into blind Bambi) we may have seen even more minutes for Rio and Trey at least. also a shame Nallo is almost unselectable after his 2 reds in both starts.
29 Dec 2025 15:31:22
Slot hasn’t had a great season but all the bashing here is making me not want to come on the forum as much.
29 Dec 2025 15:57:26
From being horrendous to going unbeaten in six and winning last 3 is good progress. Give the manager some credit and by the way now is not the ideal time for blooding kids. You need experienced battle hardened winners.

Hello, all. Longtime listener, first time poster here. Created a login just to say:
Wasn't it one of the big selling points on Slot when he was hired that he was supposedly adept at developing young players and bringing them up from within the system? Seems interesting that, whether it's a conscious choice on his part or simply down to extenuating circumstances, we haven't seen much of that from him at Liverpool.
29 Dec 2025 16:18:52
So now Slot should be rubbishd for not playing a couple of 17 year olds just to give them a chance? Sorry, but neither are ready yet to start in the league ahead of other more experienced players.
Who should Slot drop for them? Rio for Wirtz perhaps? Trey for Grav? It makes no sense at all.
They will get minutes once our confidence is fully restored, and we are in control of a lead. And that may take some while….
Klopp was equally professional when it came to playing youth team players in the league. Trent, Bradley and Quansah were all given opportunities - not because he wanted to give them a chance for the sake of it, but because first team players in their positions were injured. Curtis on the other hand just forced himself into contention, and rightly so.
Klopp certainly didn’t see his role as one of blooding in youngsters for the future of the club. Otherwise, we would have seen more of Clarke, Doak etc. He used our youth players as subs in the cup final because no one else was available. That’s not a criticism - it just illustrates that Slot has not changed our approach at all.
So, in this case, I would say he is Not Guilty.
{Ed001's Note - surely anyone could replace Mac Allister and improve the team? Even me nan, and she passed away years ago.}
29 Dec 2025 16:48:17
I agree ed, think my fifteen year old daughter would have more bite in midfield than him! Need Anderson in my opinion.
29 Dec 2025 17:05:04
This website is beyond toxic now, the contrast bashing is mental, everyone is finding something to have a pop at slot for. next it’ll be the the kitchen staff burnt the burgers why hasn’t he given a young chef a chance.
29 Dec 2025 17:11:09
Thanks for replying ed01.
And for anyone else. I was not bashing anyone. simply asking a question.
I don't want us to be club that simply takes youngsters to make a profit.
Kids will never be good enough if they aren't given chance to step up. I'd rather have had a young inexperienced player trying to impress rather than the passengers we've had many times this season.
29 Dec 2025 17:13:39
I agree Ed. Mac, Konate and Mo have all been dreadful this season - possibly because all 3 see this as their prolonged testimonial send-off? Or just unintentionally saving their legs for the WC…
But I do think we still have a great midfield 3 from Szob, Jones, Grav and possibly Wirtz.
I feel for Slot, as he hates cbs who lose duels - but he has no one to replace Konate with. Mo he rightly dropped (and we have looked better since) . But I do not understand why he continues to give Mac a starting place. He’s as red in the face and ineffective as Whelan was aged 32 plus.
Mac can be mustard for 15 or so games a season, so I just imagine that Slot is hoping that 15 is coming along soon.
29 Dec 2025 18:09:19
Nyoni could turn out to be exactly what Liverpool have been crying out for in the centre of the park, but we will never know as Slot continues to select the most overrated Argentina player ever.
29 Dec 2025 18:41:04
Nyoni is not physical enough for the Premier Keague yet. Slot is fighting for his job. I don't blame him for not gambling on inexperienced youngsters. If some of the social media supporters had their way, the starting 11 would consist of 3 or 4 promising teenagers, plus Chiesa and Endo.
29 Dec 2025 19:01:33
Despite results improving, our performances have been unconvincing, we have played some very poor teams and struggled (against wolves, we went 2-0 and as soon as they scored we played like headless chickens) .
Sorry but I just don’t believe is the manager for us and I hope he gets sacked or resigns as I genuinely don’t feel he is the right manager to take us forward.
29 Dec 2025 20:23:37
I had a hot dog at the game Saturday and the onions were well dry, so please sack the head chef and slot while you’re at it!
29 Dec 2025 20:49:27
Nyoni deserves a crack when macca gives nothing. Konate and mo have suffered cos of tactics imo. And saying we had no one to drop konate for is bs. Gomez was fit Endo can play there as can grav and let’s be right they should be good enough against the likes of Sunderland and wolves.
Slot can’t manage a big squad. Fans saying he has no trust in players is just making excuses for him. The same players played aggressive under klopp and secured top 2-3 mostly.
29 Dec 2025 21:34:33
Maccas off form but you play Nyoni, an 18 year old kid who let's face it has looked neat and tidy without ever wowing for the 1st team ahead of the Real Madrid World Cup winning target? C'mon now, this is beyond ridiculous.
{Ed001's Note - At least the kid might develop from the experience into a better player. What are we gaining by playing with Macca right now? He is like having ten men. Personally though, I would never have sent McConnell out on loan and sold Morton, leaving us with no one to bring in. Saying it is beyond ridiculous is idiotic. Beyond ridiculous is picking Macca week in, week out.}
29 Dec 2025 23:33:46
Bravo Ed1 and thank you. McAllister is shocking and stinking up the place on a weekly basis. Picking him game after game is an insult. It is also not Slot bashing, it is stating a blatantly obvious fact.
If Slot cannot see that or fails to act, that is an entirely different question. Posters need to stop conflating issues to suit their own agenda. Sometime to opposing opinions can both contain elements that are correct.
