Curious what you all think about this, but I can see a scenario where Slot leaves Liverpool after the season and replaces Eddie Howe.

{Ed025's Note - if (and its a big if) he does leave i think he will head back to Holland Stone..

07 Feb 2026 19:58:28
I don't know who to believe.

Ed1 said something similair in a reply earlier, about Slot being here next season.

Bur Carra and a couple of 'ITK's say different.

I' m all of a dither.

{Ed025's Note - we are all guessing i suppose WR, i think a lot will depend on how the rest of the season goes mate..

Slot being here next season? Can't see it to be honest. Only the slim chance of us winning the champions league will give him the option to continue into next year IMO.

07 Feb 2026 20:41:53
If we don't get champions league, he's a gonna.

07 Feb 2026 20:49:06
He won't be in the dugout next season. I'm certainly not ITK and I rely on the real ones on here but it's over between AS and LFC IMO. There's a disconnect between him and the club and support which I believe cannot be overcome. We need to put points on the table to try ensure CL next season so he's going to have to play winning football to achieve that.

That means playing to the strengths of the squad. He has ignored this so far this season so why would the club continue working with someone who deliberately does that. They just won't. I won't be sorry to see him replaced.

07 Feb 2026 21:10:51
Most of the noise I've heard points to him going but that's not from the club. Where as the club are saying they are backing him. For me that's just the club protecting their employee.

If they backed him, why stop contract talks or not bring in reinforcements. The roundtable only muddied the waters, although any amateur psychologist could see all is not as good as they say it is.

As I've said all previously his position will be reviewed at the end of the season. The only way I see him surviving is if we win the CL and I can't see that happening.

07 Feb 2026 21:42:53
Could be tricky for him by next weekend. We could be seven points off fifth and out of the FA Cup.

07 Feb 2026 22:37:11
We could also be 1pt off 3rd and through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

07 Feb 2026 22:49:02
I see Spurs as a destination for him if he's not at Anfield.
Frank is on borrowed time and they have Heitinga already there.

07 Feb 2026 23:10:23
Howe will never be the Liverpool manger, more chance Eddie Izzard.

07 Feb 2026 23:17:34
Positive thinking on results is frowned upon on here Varry. can't be thinking anything that would keep Arne in the managers hotseat.

07 Feb 2026 23:21:57
Don't think anyone is suggesting Howe replaces Slot, mark, stone suggested Slot could replace Howe.

07 Feb 2026 23:22:44
Slot is not going anywhere until is contract is up.

All this talk about him being sacked etc., etc, is all bull crap.

I know loads of people on here want him binned, but it is not happening. He will be here next season and Alonso won't be.

07 Feb 2026 23:35:02
Win the championship league, you've been on the hooch pal.

07 Feb 2026 23:37:01
To be fair @Mark, nobody has suggested Howe as a candidate to be our manager.

08 Feb 2026 01:31:21
I think he will land a bigger job than going back to Holland. Not many have won the Premier League. He has a better resume than most upcomers Alonso, Glazner, Arteta, Iroala, Amorim.

08 Feb 2026 05:56:54
We are not making Champions League places this season unless Slott goes.

08 Feb 2026 08:14:46
Im feeling really positive about the rest of the season, up the reds.

08 Feb 2026 05:40:20
Ed025 Hope all is well mate. You have been quite fair and irrespective of late. Quite enjoyable and truthful compared to some of the PR being spread out there by the PR merchants for LFC. How are things down on the waterfront for you mate? Cheers, YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - its going quite well for the blues KC though our home form is not what it could or maybe should be, our away form is very good though and its actually top 4 statistically but Moyes is such a pragmatic character that if he took the handbrake off we could be a lot better i feel mate, saying that he has fulfilled his brief from us being relegation fodder to a team who are safe and have an outside chance of Europa qualification for next season, the new ground is very good and TFG look like the owners who we have been looking for for a long time, well heres hoping anyway that both Merseyside clubs will be battling it out in the higher reaches of the league in the near future..cheers..

Just stop with the boring football.

Way I see it, we've blown it. The season is now a free hit, a chance to play some entertaining stuff and stop with the negative passing it around the back bore fest

You can't expect the fans to create atmosphere in the stadium when they Blew the season months ago and the football is diabolical.

Everyone's made peace with our situation, nobody is calling for the manager to be sacked Early anymore because it's too late, it's over, so pressure off, just attack and at least make it enjoyable and when summer comes we'll see where we're at, and go from there.

I'm hoping we smash these lot today.

08 Feb 2026 13:01:48
@ The Fields; I think even if by some miracle that he wins the CL he'll still be replaced. Alonso was their first choice post Jurgen. They'll not let him slip through their fingers again. Alonso will be in. I don't have confidence in AS anymore.

And I'm just a lowly supporter. There's surely people in power who share the same opinion. That's only going to end one way. BTW I greatly appreciate all the info you share here. It's mighty!

08 Feb 2026 13:07:55
@ED25; I'd love to see the 2 Merseyside teams competing for the top titles. It'd be brilliant for the city (albeit I only visit it, I don't live there) and both sets of supporters! It's hard to beat local rivalry in any sport. Plus. itd put that other red and blue town back in their box!

{Ed025's Note - i witnessed it the last time around SG and the feeling in the city was great mate..Halcyon days indeed..

08 Feb 2026 16:53:53
As long as slot goes away from Liverpool, then I'm happy.

08 Feb 2026 19:08:47
Both Liverpool and Everton vying for trophies was the best time in football.

The entire City sticking it to those who tried to break the people, and sweep Merseyside under the carpet

And those were the days when if it wasn't Liverpool going to win a trophy- it had to be Everton.
Was genuinely gutted when Whiteside scored in the FA Cup final.

08 Feb 2026 15:56:14
edd25 Tranmere would have to get Aldo out of retirement to get a descent rivalry for us! ?.

{Ed025's Note - we are only 2 points behind you Chrisy mate and you have got to come to Hill Dickinson yet, so maybe Tranmere are a bigger threat to you than us my friend.. :)
