Been told on good authority that Liverpool are seriously looking at Morten Hjulmand to add a bit of b*llocks to the midfield…
Good player but would surely be behind the likes of Wharton or Camara on the list.

Is Wharton similar in profile to Macca? If so, we should avoid, we need steal in midfield, embarrassing that at Brighton we were bullied by 40-year-old Milner.

Not for me, Hjulmand.
Wharton is not a DM either, but is an upgrade on MacAllister.
Endo to be replaced with a proper DM, and Jones to be replaced with Sadiki, Stiller or Ederson for me.
Elliott to go also, but not to be replaced.

The irony being we have a half decent dm (Endo) at the club, but is never used. Can't wait for Slot to be gone.

If anyone needed any evidence that the root cause of issues is not the players (albeit some of them need to take a long hard look at themselves), but Slot, this is item number 1. Everyone could see our midfield needed some balls, and Endo was available all season until recently, but not used.
We had the capacity to add steel to the midfield, but the decision makers chose not to.
I said exactly this when we were linked with Semenyo and Guehi. Adding to this group will not make a difference. The style of play does not suit the league, and until that changes, under Slot or whoever, we will achieve nothing.

Anyone who has watched Liverpool under Slot can see that he doesn't play with a strict CDM - so I'm guessing that the likes of Wharton, Camara or Hjulmand would be just to get a more combative presence in the midfield.
That's assuming Slot is staying, obviously...

Not exactly steal, hard etc... midfield, but quick, strong, can get about the pitch, mobile etc..... obviously technically excellent.

We should keep Elliot. We are going to need an extra attacker with Ekitike out until 2027, I'd much rather have Harvey at the club than splash 10s of millions on another unknown player.

Kees Smitt would be the one for me. Can do a bit of everything and would have the energy to press, which hopefully is a style we'll be returning to next season.

Wharton's about as combative as our current midfield, so won't add anything much in that respect. He's a better passer than what we have, but needs pace alongside him and on the wings, which is lacking in our team.

The 2 attacking players we are actively seeking, Traore from Hoffenheim and Diamonde, both have pace to burn. I do agree that our passing from the back and midfield does need addressing, but getting real pace in the forward position and out wide will help Wirtz and Isak.
