Hi all,
Slot is still gone in the summer. Sky Sports News is incorrect (which isn’t surprising). However, they are correct about our push for Yan Diomande.
A considerable part of the reason why Slot is leaving is due to his desire to return to the Netherlands. There were brief talks held with Spurs some time back, but nothing came of it. The club desire a manager who is comfortable with remaining at Anfield for the next 3/4 years at least.
Arne Slot has already made that abundantly clear to the board that he does not fit the bill due to his family’s intention to remain in the Netherlands.
To add my two cents, if not for his decision it could be entirely possible that he would remain. As things stand though, that will not happen.

Thanks, Victor. The ITKs need to be given a break. They are committing to giving info that is correct at the time of posting. Things change in football. People need to get a grip and realize this.

{Ed025's Note - VG is usually a very reliable poster HH and it seems a plausible solution for all concerned mate, there is a lot of white noise going around about the managers position though but if im honest i just cant see how he will still be here next season..

I am concerned about a new manager coming in this summer. With a World Cup, a lot of outgoings, and you'd imagine quite a few incommings. Whoever comes in is going to have a very disrupted pre-season on top of getting to grips with players he would have very little time with.
Somehow think it would be better to get him gone September like we did with Rogers.

It's worth mentioning too that things in football are hilariously fluid. Plans and expectations are constantly changing. For all I know, I could hear something totally different in a week's time about Slot's position.
It's hard to make a call on something months/weeks in advance and have it remain true, because, quite frankly, I don't make the decisions, nor does any other "ITK". I just pass along what I hear.

Slot - what a guy, what a legend & total class act. The employers want him to stay, but he's decided that the fans come first, and is going to leave, & say family is issue....
To show our appreciation, I'm sure no shortage of folk willing to drive him to airport & contribute to his air fair. :-)
