Bozos rumours are to break today, been approached to be part of consortium to buy a minority share.
I have a feeling FSG could be tempted to sell, Bezos is a Liverpool fan, kind of, his family originally are Liverpudlians, beleive his grandparents.
If he was tempted again, how would you lot feel?
22 Jul 2026 06:00:00
Sick, tbh. But then what billionaire buyer wouldn't nauseate?
22 Jul 2026 06:28:42
Doesn't really matter what money they have, I mean, look at Newcastle situation. Loads of money, can't spend.
Think FSG are doing us just fine.
22 Jul 2026 07:30:21
Hasn't Musk got links to Liverpool as well, like his grandparents or great-grandparents are scousers?
22 Jul 2026 07:30:35
Fowlher, is it not Elon Musk you're thinking of, who has roots in Liverpool?
22 Jul 2026 07:31:57
I know FSG have their detractors, but John Henry seems a reasonable person and has earned his money in an 'honest' way (for a capitalist billionaire, at least!)
Amazon have caused so much harm - to the environment and to smaller businesses, (initially booksellers, but now to all other retailers), and have treated large swathes of their vast staff poorly, especially those in their distribution centres.
Bezos is effectively the modern-day equivalent of a Victorian factory owner. To top it off, he's mates with D*nald Tr*mp. Bleurgh!
I think it's been a case of 'better the devil you know' with FSG as owners...
22 Jul 2026 07:40:45
I think Musk's nan was from Liverpool. TBH I wouldn't want him or Bezos anywhere near the club. I've been 'FSG out' in the past, but I'm in total agreement with Stouffer.
22 Jul 2026 07:43:09
FSG will sell at some point. It's just when.
22 Jul 2026 07:48:02
Stouffer, one of my lads works at Amazon, working at the warehouse goods in department at the Warrington dept, and has been there for years. As long as you keep your and work, there are no issues. He gets a good bonus, good work / life balance with his hours and he's very happy there.
How many folk do you know that are happy at work?
The irony of it all, I would bet... most of your family have used Amazon at some point.
22 Jul 2026 08:17:25
@Stouffer, Yes, working at Amazon really is a mirror image of a Victorian workhouse. Arms and legs have been ripped off by a spinning mule from 8-year-old boys and girls, doing work for nothing, apart from a roof over their heads.
I despair. ?
See @Drogies' comment for the irony. That shouldn't need spelling out.
22 Jul 2026 08:29:58
@LiverpoolFC8, Unless Henry, Gordon and the boys live forever eh?
22 Jul 2026 08:56:10
We can't rule that out, WDW. Henry does look a bit like a turtle. And those things last forever.
22 Jul 2026 09:14:57
Most people with extraordinary wealth have a reason to dislike them.
There's one exception that I can think of: Charles "Chuck" Feeney R.I.P.
So my point is, whoever buys the club from wherever in the world, there will be a good reason to dislike them for someone. There's nothing we can do about it so don't worry about it.
22 Jul 2026 09:33:54
Like all business, football will be homogenised and subsumed into one, massive, money making enterprise. It's been going this way for decades. Now it's at a point where you are just another money making cog. Thank you for your custom.
22 Jul 2026 09:34:21
The oh so virtuous casting judgement on potential buyers' morality.
We do love to feel superior to others, don't we.
22 Jul 2026 09:42:23
If Musk or Bezos took over ownership, that would be it for me with football. It's already lost its soul, and that would be the final nail in the coffin.
22 Jul 2026 09:52:49
Bozo the clown?
22 Jul 2026 09:56:45
There are quite a few people who don't like the Mittal family. There are no perfect owners. Someone like FSG would be ideal, pretty anonymous financial investors.
22 Jul 2026 09:58:31
On a different note, did anyone see the pics of Hugo watching a recent LFC training game in America, the pics from behind him and his legs from ankle to top of thigh are stick thin, know he's been off his feet a long time now, but still a bit of a shock to see how much muscle has wasted away already, poor sod.
22 Jul 2026 10:40:40
@Taurus it could be Bozo Texino
22 Jul 2026 11:12:45
DarrenA, and that's his good leg.
22 Jul 2026 12:22:07
Chewy, hahahaha, very good.
Hopefully not though.
22 Jul 2026 13:03:50
I would take Bezos or Musk as owners in a heartbeat.
Yes, they are highly successful and morally questionable at times, but if you dig into any major investor or investment company, you find its detractors.
What you also get is a person who accepts nothing but pure success. At that level they are not looking to sell quickly, but they would push the limits of global expansion, income and stability more than a standard investment firm.
As a fan, I get it... but as a global sports brand who wants to be a success, we need to look with less blinkered eyes. Let's face it, they are all corrupt and ruthless in their own way. With Bezos or Musk, you just get men who only accept 100% success and strive for it day in day out, but assembling winners within their businesses. I'd take that!
Just my opinion, controversial but quite a realistic one imo.
22 Jul 2026 13:24:16
Maybe Henry, Gordon & the boys will live forever.
Before people shoot me down, I said maybeeeee.
