So through the grapevine…
A little bit of context on Salah’s decision to join Trabzonspor from what I’ve been told.
The biggest factors were always family, a new challenge, and finances. It was never purely about the highest wage, but the overall package had to make sense.
He had interest from Italy, Turkey, Saudi and MLS. Honestly, I expected Chelsea to come in last minute with their recent shift in transfers.
Saudi was never as realistic as many thought it would be. The financial side was obviously there, but from what I understand his wife and her career in science made that move far less appealing.
In Italy, there was interest, with Roma and Juventus among the clubs, but the financial packages weren’t on the same level as the Turkish offers.
In Turkey, Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor were all in the picture. I’ll admit I’m a little surprised it’s Trabzonspor rather than one of the Istanbul clubs, but when you look at the overall offer it starts to make sense. Strong finances recently, European football, and a good environment for his family.
As for MLS, I don’t know which franchises were involved. My theory is that, while the lifestyle may have appealed, the level of competition probably wasn’t quite what Mo was looking for at this stage of his career.
As always, this is simply what I’d heard and connecting the dots, but it seems like this move gave him the best balance of football, family and finances.

Good luck to Mo, but I think it was two factors, money and the environment for his family. Turkey will be wonderful for them.

I get that people like to know about former players, but I don't see how his transfer is relevant to us? He agreed to leave us at the end of the season on a free transfer, therefore we make nothing from it, so it's of no concern to the club or our transfer business.
We can keep tabs on him once the season starts, but again, don't see the relevance of him on this particular page.
I'm sure we all keep tabs on Trent, for different reasons of course, Ha
I wasn't trying to be a D*** as I'm not 1 of those guys on here that give the contributors S*** on here like some do, but for me, Salah is gone, accepted that ages ago and it probably was time. The club should have acted sooner to get a "replacement".

Ed25 slow transfer is the reason why it's frustrating to see ex players' transfer rumors. If it was a done deal I would like to know but when I see a rumor about Salah it reminds me we don't have much going on.
I understand the wait on Barcola but what is the reason for the wait on other positions? Am I the only one who is worried about this AI comment? " .But let's be honest, you don't go to Stamford Bridge, the Emirates or the Bernabeu expecting teenagers to carry your bench.

If you don't think it's relevant or not interesting, just keep scrolling. It annoys the crap out of me the way people comment on things they don't care about. Usually it's 1 of 2 reasons, trolling or attention. Although trolling is attention seeking tbh, so wind your necks in and keep on scrolling. ?

This is like us winning the league and then when you look back and just say "sure that was last season, better move on" or even talking about Istanbul and saying "sure that is years ago, give it a break".

I just don't understand some people.
Salah is a bonafide legend of the club. All the glory and entertainment we've had in the last 9 seasons and Salah has been absolutely integral to that.
Turning doubters into believers, that doesn't happen without players like Salah.
He's up there with the best players in the modern era for this club.
It's only natural people want to hear about him and his future plans.

Not sure how long you have been visiting the boards, but I've hung around for almost 15 years as I appreciate the craic. It's about rumours but so much more. Humour, including desperate scousewives and even going back around 10 years, the properties of moon-cheese.
It's not a NewsNow type site with apparent nailed on transfers and general clickbait.
So if a legend of our team, who almost single-handedly helped us win our last league title, is moving on, you're damn right we want to know, at least to make sure we know which team to avoid in the UCL draw!

These types of players and personalities are pretty rare, and we were lucky to see the best of him with us. Slightly surprised, he didn't go for a CL qualified team, but perhaps he himself accepts his time at the top was over.

Firstly, appreciate the update, Ned, as always fantastic to see you posting and giving you anything you have and can give!
Secondly, it is funny, the other day I was wondering what was happening with Salah as when I Google (no longer use X or whatever that t*** Elon wants to call it) I couldn't find any useful info or even from a good source so seeing you post gave me the update I wanted as.
Think people need to realise this is an open forum and rumours site and that's how it should be, I have been on here for probably 8 years now and only recently started posting and joined the live chat for the Leeds game and had a great back and forth with Zed and really hits home how good this site can be when we come together and have one common goal or seeing our team past, present and for the future together!
