Sky reporting on a big attempt to get Salah to Saudi league now. Obviously I hope it doesn’t happen and I have no idea who we would replace him with at this late stage of the season, but what price would it have to be for people to perhaps accept his leaving?
He’s our best player, no doubt and his goals and assist would be a huge miss, but he’s 31 this year with two years left on his contract. Well reported he wants one big last pay day so if not now I’d say he’d certainly be sold to Saudi next summer for a lower price than what we’d get now.
So question, keep him this year and sell him for less than what we’d get now whilst looking for a replacement, or sell him now to fund the ongoing rebuild and take some short term pain aka when we lost Torres and Coutinho. And if we did sell him now, how much do you all think would be an acceptable amount?
For me to sell him this summer, it would have to be an absolute minimum of £150m, probably more, given his importance to us. What do you all think?

If he comes out publicly and says he wants to go then fair enough but they better come with a world record fee whether he's 31 or not. He's probably fitter than most 26 Yr old in premier league I'd guess.

In cases where the approach is true and concrete there are many more factors to consider than just how good a player is.

A great player and asset for a club can easily turn into a liability if the head is elsewhere for example. You’d hope the head is there if the management want it there but it isn’t always the case unfortunately.

If he comes out publicly and says he wants to go, then the answer should be "Well you should've thought of that a month ago. You can go in January if we can secure a replacement for you, if not it'll be next summer. "

Losing Salah this late in the window, without the time to get a decent replacement will be damaging to the club imo.

We can’t replace Fabinho, never mind Salah.

I said earlier (which wasn't posted) to sell him, but only for £200mil. The Saudis can afford it, and at this late stage in the window, a suitable replacement is probably impossible. I would then use that money to sign Mbappe.

Salah replacement has already been bought in this and past season. (Gackpo and szobo)
I don't think it would make ay sense to say no to a world record fee for salah. (222m)

If a team from that League has paid 40 million for Fabinho then it's not a far stretch to imagine someone offering 100 million for Salah. But I wouldn't sell, simply because I want us back in top 4 and UCL, and we can't do it without Salah, nor can we find his immediate replacement with that 100 million. The closest player to Salah's goalscoring was Harry Kane and he's gone to Bayern Munich. And I'm not about to suggest buying a much younger (and cheaper) player who's currently scoring 15 goals a year now but can potentially score 25-30 (like Salah) in a couple of years from now. I'm done with those freaking "transition" years.

I dream this can come to fruition. And then klopp next summer hopefully. Can get a decent fee for Salah and hopefully invest in some decent players to evolve and improve our team.

Really love Salah and what he has done for the club, but it makes sense to sell for 150 million. We already have enough to cover, but with 150 mill we could bring in a superstar.

You replace Salah by getting a proper striker, not someone who can’t score.

Salah performs that role on the wing, we won’t replace that. So we need a proper number 9 who can score goals and the winger becomes a provider.

James Pearce claims Salah has handed in a transfer request.

Akira2, Gakpo and Szoboszlai are not Salah replacements at all. Would be a terrible idea to sell at this late point in the window. Recently signing the new deal makes me doubt Mo telling the club he wants to leave. Money does talk though and the obscene amounts Saudi are likely to offer I imagine can turn the firmest of heads. Fingers crossed Mo's commitment is as strong as ever though.

For 150m. yes. Too good to turn down.
He’s our best player and I’d hate to see him leave just yet, but everyone has a price.

If Salah openly wants to go then let him go. If not then, no deal.

If Salah comes out and says he wants to go and we get a decent fee sell him. No point keeping a player who doesn't want to stay. We have had superstars before and we have and will have superstars after.

Personally would play Nunez on the wing if Salah leaves.

Sure won't Klopp make the next purchase a worldie so nothing to worry about.

ed002 have told you multiple times he has his agent out to get him the fattest pay-check.
I have also told that don't be surprised if LFC decide to move him for a record fee as it just is how the our business model works.
He won't get Madrid now and frankly it will be dumb to reject a 700 odd million 3 year deal from a league where a lot if his friends already are.
That is a lot of money a hell lot of money.
The only thing is its a little too late in the window so we have literally no time to reinvest. But as stated we have over the last couple of years already replaced firmino mane and salah with diaz gackpo jota nunez szobo (250million combined btw) and the kids.
Except for the morale at the club the transfer does-not really effect us. Its upto to manager to keep the club firing as we still 5 players for 3 positions upfront.
