I'm curious, this is a question for the people who have animosity towards Trent for leaving (though anyone can chime in if they want)
In the evening Virgil and mo also leave will you have the same animosity for them as well?
Spanish media today is reporting VVD has rejected a second contract offer.

Didn't he say last night after the game that progress has been made in contract talks?

And I think the frustration with Trent, a Liverpool fan from birth, a 'normal lad whose dreams have come true' is that he has always referred to himself as being one of us, and talked about how much it means for him to play here rather than a bayern Munich or a Barcelona or whatever. Also the fact that he is easily a 100 mill plus player, and we will be getting nothing for him. I don't hold anything against him myself and will always be a fan of the player, but I understand why others would be irate.

"Easily a 100 mill plus player. " Sorry but for a player to be worth a certain amount, a club has to be willing to pay that amount. I don't see a club in Europe paying past 60 million tops. When you're paying that much for a full-back, you want them to be able to defend consistently.

VVD and Salah have said planet of times they went to stay. That’s the difference.
{Ed025's Note - it will all come down to money OK..

Nevada, difference is Trent is a Scouser n is a lot younger than the other 2 players . If Trent wanted to leave with his head high . he should have signed a short term deal so we get a transfer fee. not a lot to ask for really, considering we made n turned him into a professional footballer n a multi millionaire, but ppl. say he gave us 20 years imo we gave him his best 20years ever.
{Ed025's Note - but instead of Liverpool getting the money Trent can get it as a signing on fee Strom...what would you do mate?..

Babbity Rabbity who says he is going as a defender. Of course TAA is a £100m player in today's prices.

I don’t have animosity for any of them or for those running the club.
Movement is normal in football, the industry depends on it. You don’t get many players who stay at one club.
If all 3 go on free transfers, good luck to them. They’ve never made false promises, they’ve every right to leave and as multiple champions they’ll all get heroes welcomes from me whenever they return to Anfield.
07 Apr 2025 17:54:53
I’d be gutted if he goes, even with his dodgy defending at times, he is still a player you would love in your team for his attacking abilities. The money doesn’t bother me or the loyalty shout we don’t know what’s gone on behind the scenes. If the club have strung him along he is within his rights to say see ya later. We’d all love to be able to tell our bosses fu And have another job lined up with bigger money and greater chance of success. The only way it leaves a bitter taste is if he has told the club he will sign but pulls out last min.

We must be the first team to lose as many as 8 players after winning the league. lol usually players stick around with a winning team. John Henry must be having his heart in his mouth looking at that rebuild.

ED25 . If i was Trent i wouldn't have led everyone on a merry dance while running his contract down. If I was Liverpool I'd have sold the minute they knew he wouldn't sign a contract. both are guilty of not being honest . no one wants to lose face by the looks of it . what would you do Ed25.
{Ed025's Note - as i have said before Strom anyone with less than 2 years on their contract would be given the opportunity to sign a new deal or be put on the transfer list mate, its just not fair that these players and their agents can run down their contracts and leave for nothing, but to be fair this is on the club not the player, to let possibly £300M worth of talent leave and not get a penny is criminal mate..
07 Apr 2025 21:42:53
We won’t ‘lose’ 8 players.
07 Apr 2025 23:02:57
TAA can't be sold against his wishes either. He can refuse to move and sign a contract with another club.
Even with two years left, he could just wait for Madrid and Madrid wait for him.
It happened with Mbappe and it's how things are now.

Like I’ve said I was told he was learning Spanish in autumn 2023.
08 Apr 2025 00:46:04
ED25.100 % agree on both points. we've got players coming to 2 years left ie Konate. hope our board see sense this time round.
{Ed025's Note - yeah Strom they need to get their act together mate..

I don't particularly care about the situation, but I was reading the other day, Trent was very vocal a few years ago in criticising 'money clubs' and said he'd rather win trophies with LFC all day long than at a club that buys success, or words to those affect.
I think people are just a little annoyed about how he has gone about it and acted. However, we have no idea about the inner workings and what the club have/ haven't said, so it is kind of irrelevant.
