I like Mbuemo, but African nations this year so makes no sense to lose him and salah.

Agree4 Disagree0

Salah plays 99% of the time, he’s a fitness machine.

I don’t see how we would keep Mbuemo happy. Salah has just signed a new contact on big money, he won’t be dropping to the bench he will want to keep breaking records.

I just don’t see us spending £60m on a player that plays the same position as Salah.

Mbeumo does not good enuff to improve us. Just my take.

Mbeumo is wanted by Newcastle for RW depth as they only have Murphy. Utd and others interested.

Hello Isedgodam,

We used to lose Mane and Salah to the Africon under Jurgen every two years, was it better to sign both of them, or leave them to other clubs, History and last season suggests ye sign very good players than other clubs signing them, as they are better with you than against you!

Delap has signed for Chelsea 30 mill, which suggests as cover for whoever signs for them as a top number 9.

Osmihen is being touted as a swap for Hoijlund plus cash.

Aim higher. We’re the champions that should be looking at retaining it and winning the European cup. The players should mirror that.
Not targeting players that you’d want to attempt to get into the top 4.

Did you think we'd be champions when we only signed Chiesa last summer, LiverpoolFC8?

30 May 2025 02:12:09
007 we lost the league twice during that period by a point. If our best players hadnt disappeared for a month do you think we might have turned one draw into a win and have our name on the trophy one or two more times? I do.

Makes sense that stoneage, I’d of thought salah would of retired from international as part of the deal to extend his contract.

Apparently Frimpong and Kerkez weren’t good enough a few weeks ago but the tune soon changed.

30 May 2025 07:28:28
Nope, did you?
But what I do know is, last time we were on top we failed to strengthen and fumbled it.

I honestly don't ever remember a season where we lost the league narrowly, and thinking to myself that it was the AFCON that screwed us. In fact there is absolutely zero evidence for this because I just looked it up.

In 18/ 19 the AFCON was in the summer so had no impact on us missing out by 1 point.

In 21/ 22 we won every game during the AFCON and didn't actually drop points again until April, so again there was no impact on us missing out by 1 point.

In 23/ 24 Salah only missed 1 game at the AFCON and we won it 4-0. However he did come back with a hamstring injury. During those 7 game he was struggling with injury we won 5, drew 1 against Man City and Lost 1 against Arsenal. We finished 9 points behind City so those extra 4 points and taking the 1 point off City (if you believe we'd have won both games) would've cut their winning margin to 4 points. So again, AFCON/ Salah's injury did not cost us the league. The capitulation once Salah was back in the team was actually what cost us the league that season. We won 5, drew 3 and lost 2. So our form was actually better during the AFCON/ Salah's injury!

Where's this magical draw we could've turned into a win if we'd only had Mane and Salah available? I hate when people make things up to prove a point. I mean no offence Stoneage, but you have just totally lied to make an invalid point.

LFC8, no, I didn't think we'd win the League this season and I wouldn't have been shocked had we not made top four.
Once again, it shows how little I know and how things can change very quickly. I think that's why I'm not as opinionated about people who have more idea than I do doing jobs they are paid to do.
Anyway, the last time we were on top, we signed Jota, Thiago and Tsimikas. The summer before, we bought no one and walked the League.
It's a funny old game, isn't it.

Hello MK Scouser, "Magnificent Research" well done!

stoneage thinks he's living in one, by saying we should not have signed salah and mane in the first place because they disappear to go to the Afcon, would you have preferred them going to the afcon as not being LFC players, Jurgen would not and neither would MK Scouser, and 007!

Jaydee, that is the gamble jurgen took to have them miss a few games a season for LFC, rather than go to any other club and be a ferocious opponent of LFC.

Only English fans have issues with players going to AFCON. Fans of other leagues have NO such issues. And if indeed there is a problem due to the congested nature of the PL in that month of Jan the with all the money they have, I don't know why they can't plan accordingly rather than always complaining about it.

{Ed001's Note - because we don't have a winter break and it is far too profitable a period to shut down for one.}
