Hello! I've watched the rumours posted on the Transfermarkt about Liverpool's transfers and Vlahovic is credited with over 60% chances to come to us. I hope that's not true. It's a huge difference between Isak, Alvarez or Lautaro and Vlahovic. I prefer Danns everyday instead of Vlahovic. Do you know more about this or it's just a nonsense?

On the same page, Bastoni, Gordon, Inacio, Leao and Sonko have over 50% chances to transfer to Liverpool. If Bastoni or Inacio would come, it will be a great addition.

I keep seeing people put forward Danns, but I'm just failing to see why he has earned this level of faith. He played 274 minutes of football last season across the youth and senior levels, scoring 1 senior goal in the FA Cup and 1 u19's goal in UEFA Youth League. He missed the entire second half of the season with injury.

Vlahovic on the other hand clocked up 2695 minutes scoring 17 goals and making 5 assists. He's not my choice by a long long way, but those are respectable numbers in a top 5 European league, for a club where it's serious pressure every time you put on the shirt.

I'm all for supporting youth and giving them chances, but anybody who would rather go into next season with Danns as our Nunez replacement, especially as a hypothetical alternative to Vlahovic, is absolutely deluded.

Danns needs to outgrown his fitness issues and put in a solid season in the championship, like Bradley, Elliott or Morton have done to have a chance.
That is the benchmark. Doak managed that and still won't get a chance before being sold .

Liverpool under Arne Slot have developed an attacking philosophy defined by high intensity, dynamic pressing and quick, incisive transitions.

The modern striker in this system must contribute beyond finishing.

They need to initiate pressing, facilitate link-up play and create space for teammates and Victor Osimhen is considered a seamless fit.

His energetic runs from the front disrupts opponents and fits perfectly with Liverpool’s proactive defensive approach.

Osimhen’s off-ball movement is intelligently timed and physically imposing, allowing him to drag defenders out of position, creating gaps for wingers and midfield runners.

Compared with Alexander Isak’s technical finesse and Hugo Ekitike’s youthful explosiveness, the Napoli man offers a balanced combination of pace, power and technical skill.

This blend not only enhances the Reds’ attacking variety but also improves the team’s adaptability mid-game.

His serial ability also adds a much-needed dimension on set-pieces, an area Liverpool have historically sough improvement.

This compatibility can often be overlooked in transfer discussions that focus narrowly on goalscoring records.

I think the point is preferring to succeed or fail on an academy player in that backup role versus verus spending 10s of millions on an unknown player from the continent.

Well said Chatgpt, er, Vango.

There are dozens of examples, even for Liverpool, where youth players have not got on loan but have been given a chance in the first team and succeeded.

Seeing as the market for strikers is so poor at the moment I think we’d be foolish not to give him a chance.

You can't just throw a completely unproven youth player with a terrible injury record into the starting lineup as your first choice if you are hoping to challenge for multiple trophies.

I'm all for Danns being given a chance but that should be off the bench and in cup games. We need to sign a goalscorer.

lol @vango getting ai to write his posts on a fan forum.

I agree, MK.
I think it's also a case of us not seeing Danns play, so he is doing nothing wrong and hoping he will be a player.
It's the same with Chiesa and Endo.

Ron Keague, normally they're at least coming off the back of an impressive season at youth level though. Not nearly an entire season on the treatment table. Even a seasoned veteran with world class ability (Virgil, Falcao etc) takes up to a year to fully rediscover their form, after missing a whole season of football with injury. It's just not sensible/ realistic to expect Danns to immediately recover from a year out injured and also massively improve his levels at the same time. It's more likely he'll take a year just to get back to where he was in 2024.

{Ed001's Note - it is actually, usually anyway, easier and quicker to get back to form when younger. The older a player gets, the more difficult it becomes.}

@OP Would you go on a flight that had a 60% chance of landing safely?

60% means that Liverpool are looking to sign a striker and he is a striker that people have heard of so he is slightly more likely to sign than somebody else.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it until the percentage is a lot higher.

ShipleyKopite, that was funny.

If we can’t sell Darwin and Jota, I’d give Danns a chance.
Not as first choice, I’d have Salah (L), Wirtz (F9) and Diaz (R) as first choice.

What form would Danns be rediscovering?
He doesn't have any.
